Does anyone have any idea how to change the account colors for the Mail / Calendar / Task apps? I would assume (though probably incorrectly) that it is stored, either as a png image or color hex. I don't mind modifying the apk to do so. (Yes, I know it can't be done natively.)
What I do know:
The colors are consistent across the mail, calendar, and task apps.
The list of colors is fixed (not random).
I have pulled the images for the Mail, and htc framework apks, and don't see anything relevant.
The color "index" is stored in the mail database.db file in the colorIdx column. (Apparently this was changeable in 3.0 and earlier.)
Searching through the smail code for the Mail app, I can't find any strings with the hex color.
There are references to colorIdx in the smail code for the Mail app, but I can't follow them anywhere.
I can't read smali code very well.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

i tried to make some nice icons for my contacts in my quiklist
i took a photo of my friend deleted the background an made a nice frame saved it as an png
and opent it in outllook as her picture
but outlook does not keep the background transparent !!!!
is there a way around this ?????
Not in Outlook I'm afraid.
.Net CF controls do not support transparency, so anyone developing software that does support it has to code their own image rendering methods. It's a pain in the arse, but that's the way it is.
I would like a text system info widget with changeable fonts and sizes
haven't found any out there and thought it's a bit strange since almost everything else has a text based widget.
the functions i want can almost all be found in system info widget by Jason Calhoun
but i want it to be text based.

the option to change fonts, color, transparency, be click-able to take me to the corresponding function.
i thought if there's anywhere i could turn it was to the developers and users at XDA.
so nobody has thought of this before?

So I am just trying to change the Icon color that you see on the main screen and when you open up Gmail. I cannot find that blasted png anywhere. I have checked all the drawable and the only ones I have locted are the widget ones and the stat notify ones. I have already change their color. I really SUCK at doing .9's so I am only doing the main icons. Does anyone know were they are located?

atm i'm learning how to create CM themes for theme chooser. so i downloaded an cm10.2 theme template to start with, decompiled it and looked at the xml's and so on...
now my Problem: is there any guide, tutorial or documentation which Parameter stands forr which and how to Change and find which files contains spezific Parameter for example, Status bar Background Color etc..
and how to Change all Backgrounds in White, so i can have an almost complete White design? (in Settings, dialer, contact, sms, and so on, want to have a White Background)..
i've tried to Change a lot of "Background" Parameters into "#ffffffff", but no Change at all :/
I've looked and found gmails with modded skins but no gmail with the action bar moved back to where it was in 4.2/4.3.
I don't want the new "material" design so I'm stuck below 4.9. Has anyone done this mod before? Wouldn't it be possible to just edit the layout XML files? I'm not super familiar with the gmail APK... just know ads + analytics can be pulled out and layout is editable from a cursory decompile.
