Received the Trentius GALAXY S5 Case NT650CR case today, will see how it performs compared to the other S5 cases i have. Im not a big fan of built in screen protectors, but this one isnt to bad and sits fairly flush with the screen so you barely notice its there. Hopefully its as rugged as it should be for the price they're asking. So far seems to be a decent case...

Got my case a few days ago. It's a great case (for a rugged case). The built-in screen, like anderd was saying, is not bad. It feels fairly smooth to the touch (not quite like glass, but not as bad sticky non-glass screen protectors). I like that it looks cooler and feels a little sleeker than the Otterbox Defener cases that I have used.
The one little thing I observed is that the heart rate monitor is harder to use. Perhaps it could be operator error. I'm not a huge fan of rugged cases because they're too bulky. However, if I wanted something with lots of protection, I prefer this over the Otterbox Defenders.
Thanks! I just applied
I got mine a few weeks back, overall its a pretty decent case. I use a tempered glass protector so I ripped out the built in screen protector.
Applied as well
Been for a couple months now!
I've been testing with them for some time now and its been pretty awesome!
Got some great gear to test out, its basically a techies dream!

You get to keep them. However be warned, if you do not follow the directions, or give a poor / sub-par rating, you may be charged the full retail price of the item.
I did a review with New Trent and it went very well. I highly recommend doing the program. Basically, everybody wins.

This program is super fun. I've tested approx 5-6 items and they are all quality items. I highly recommend it to any device tester or anyone who's enthusiastic about mobile technology for sure.

I didn't apply for this one, cause I like my device naked, but I've tested a couple of things from this company. It's a pretty sweet program; the coolest thing I got to test was a giant dual usb portable battery. But I recommend getting in on.the opening of their tester program. Go doesn't like cool free stuff.
I received this case after applying thanks to this thread. I have to say I am very happy with it, I had a Spiegen Tough Armor before and I like this case better in every way. It is a little thicker but still comfortable to hold. The only downside I've had is dust collecting under the screen protector, so I have to clean it every few days.

Hello my fellow case freaks, If your like me you love cases, and probably have a bunch. Well I have a lot and Im still always looking for new ones. The other day I got a promo email from Spigen about a new case they built for the iPhone 5. Its called the Slim Armor S. Its basically a revamped version of the regular Slim Armor case. The inner TPU lining is softer and delivers better button response and improves impact protection and shock absorption with its strategically designed spider-webbed interior. It also has a redesigned outer polycarbonate midsection with an improved matte finish coating that offers better grip and feel. So anyway I contacted Spigen to ask if they had any plans on releasing the improved Slim Armor S for the Galaxy S4 and I got this response.
Thank you for contacting Spigen.com Customer Service Department. Thank you for your interest in our Spigen Products!
As of now, we don’t have any definite plans to make the Slim Armor S for the Galaxy S4 yet. However, if there is increased interest from our customers, we may change our production plans in the future. Please check our website, facebook, and twitter pages for any updates time to time.
So this is my reason for the post. I am hoping anyone else that would be interested in a new Slim Armor S for the S4 would contact them and ask also. If they receive enough interest maybe they will. I tried to find an easier way to contact them but unfortunately I couldnt. You have to register here , then go here to create a help ticket. Leave it at "To Do", then write in a topic. Then under that choose "product inquiry" from the "Department" drop down. Leave the "Assign an Order" blank. Then you just write a quick message asking about the possibility of a new Slim Armor S for the Galaxy S4. Heres what I wrote originally as an example.
"Hello. I just received an email from Spigen showing the new Slim Armor S for the iPhone 5. It is a very nice case. I was wondering if you had plans to create and release a Slim Armor S for the Galaxy S4. I have the S4 and love my other Spigen cases for it, and would love to see the Armor S for it as well. I buy and review a lot of cases, and think an Armor S for the S4 would be a great addition to an already awesome line up of cases. Anyways just a suggestion. Thanks"
Hopefully that will work. But it definitely wont if they dont get any interest. Thanks for your time.

Done. I like the new Gunmetal and Silver colors so hopefully this will be made available for SG4 as well.
If they release a matte white one, that'd be very tempting even though I already have a white SA. The matte finish on the SA I got for my friend's iPhone 5 is pretty fantastic.

No kidding about matte finishes. Will never understand the allure of shiny plastic. Make matte versions of a case and ill buy it. As for the softer TPU id be down. Im a bit of a case collector and I definitely enjoy the neo hybrid i have
A while ago I saw my friends case on her S4. It was the UAG case in an orange/grey color combo. She's had it a couple of months. It looked pretty cool, so iI asked her how she likes it.
Her response was that she likes it a lot.
I then asked her if she's ever dropped her S4. Her response was:
"Oh yeah, I drop it all the time."
That's exactly what I like to hear when determining whether I want to give a particular case a go
I liked the look of her case, but didn't know how it would hold up to drops regarding protecting the S4. I had been using a Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case for a month or so. I like it, but the UAG is a slimmer and better looking case, but I was unsure if it would protect my S4.
Well, I had my answer, as she 'drops it all the time," and her S4 is intact.
I purchased the UAG in black yesterday from Amazon and just received it today.
Here's my opinion so far:
- really nice looking case, minimalistic, yet protective
- fits the S4 perfectly. Snug as a bug in a rug, as they say
- generous usb and earphone plug ports
- volume and power buttons have an excellent/responsive/clickie feel to them.
- nice lip for screen facedown protection
- corner protective bumpers incorporate into the layout and total look of the case very well
- has a very nice feel in hand. Imo, can use a little grippier feel, but as I've only just received this case a few hours ago, I'll give it some time. I'm coming from the Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case, which is bulkier and grippier, so as I said, I'll know better in a couple of days regarding whether the not as grippy feel will be a factor.
- while the metallic UAG branding on the back of the case is of high quality, I'd rather have it blackened instead of the matt metallic it is now. I pay enough money for the case that I don't have to be a walking billboard for the UAG Company. I'll wait a bit, but I may dye the matt metallic to a darker color. Maybe not.....
- the UAG has now replaced my Cygnett as my EDC....
- protects my friend's S4 after 'dropping it all the time.'
After purchasing the UAG, and prior to receiving it today, I watched the linked video below, which also confirmed the protection of this case.
I also linked to Amazon, which shows the available colors.

I hated the Neo Hybrid too. I ended up keeping it because I forgot to fill out the return form Ahaha
I have the black UAG (Looks badass with the black s4), the orange (looks cool, I'll admit that, but in person and on your phone it looks a bit obnoxious) and the blue (I havent been using it that much, just love how sleek the black case is)
Actually have a hot pink one for the wifey's iphone 4 ( yes our house is divided haha) thats pretty cool.
I have the OD green for the s3 too and really wish they'd make an s4 version.

Pink? Hmmm.....
Nah, I'll keep the Black:laugh: (They don't make it for the S4 anyway, unless the Plasma is the equivalent of the Pink)
I almost ordered the Slate/Blue but chose the Black.
The Slate/Blue must be popular, as it's $34.95, and the Black is $29 (price drop from $31.53) on Amazon

A month or so before getting the UAG case or any case, as I always went caseless, I ordered the glass tR I believe it was. I returned it because I decided to order a caseionly, and take my chances that the screen wouldn't take a direct hit to a corner or an edge of something.
At the time, I decided nottto oder the Slim because I thought it was too thin, and wouldn't protect the screen as well as the thicker protector. This was confirmed by SGP in response to an email I sent.
I think the Slim was .15mm, and the tR was .40mm and the glas t is .25mm without round corners if I remember correctly.
With the above being said, how does the UAG screen lip height and Glas t protector height match up?
I have been reading lots of posts in XDA trying to decide what my case should be. I bought the Incipio dual layer case just to get me by until I did some more research.
All of my other phones have had Seidio active case/ holster combos. They have been really good cases
I have been thinking of trying something different this time
The UAG is on the top of my list
Im in construction so I need to have a case that can withstand my environment. I have dropped my Rezound with the Seido case from about 10' on concrete multiple times and nothing ever happened to it.
Do you guys think it can hold up like the Sedio case does?
I remember seeing someones post in another topic in XDA that the UAG case will fit the Seido holster
Can anyone confirm this?
I also want to get a desktop charger for the phone, Is anyone with a UAG using a desktop charger, if so what charger are you using?
I have seen lots of people talking about screen protection and getting a case that has the front clear protector such as the otterbox. Im not sure why people think that a clear plastic cover would stop the screen from breaking, besides the screen is gorilla glass 3, if that screen takes a hit hard enough to break it, a thin layer of plastic wont make any difference other then to keep all the tiny pieces of glass from flying all over the place
Thanks for any info you guys might have
@Hitch_Itch
I can't answer all of your questions as I've not had experience with the accessories you've asked about, but the following will answer some of your questions:
- I have no doubt that the UAG will not fulfill your requirements for your environment.
- the UAG can survive up to a 6' drop, as per the videos, but I'm not sure if it would be on a consistent basis.
- my opinion would be that you would need a case that offered Full wrap protection such as the model you mentioned, that you dropped from 10' without issue. The UAG wrapped S4 would no doubt suffer massive injuries from that height
- in your environment, there would most likely be drops from even short distances were the S4 would hit an edge, corner, etc., land on its screen which would crack it, as the UAG case does not have a built in full wrap screen protector incorporated into it. As you mention, the screen protector would only protect against scratches.
- no way can the UAG hold up under extreme conditions such as the Seido case can.
This is because the UAG case is not meant to be. It doesn't fall under the Extreme Environment, Full Wrap, Closed Ports Umbrella, so to speak. That is a whole nutha subset of cases for quite different needs/requirements.
- If one is looking for an everyday case with a minimalist footprint, that is lightweight, easily slid into a pocket, offers adequate protection from drops normally encountered during everyday use, and is aesthetically appealing, I highly recommend the UAG. But for Extreme Environment survival, I don't recommend it for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
As is said, the right tool for the right job. Or something like that
While looking at the UAG, I came across many cases. One of theseccases was the Griffin Survivor.
I said to myself if I ever need a case to protect my S4 under the most of Extreme conditions, this is the case I'd take a serious look at and most likely purchase. I'm posting a link to it:

I just watched a bunch of video's on drop test for the UAG and in every video the screen cracked at a fall above 5'
Also watched a bunch of videos for the otter box and the Trident case drop tests, both protected the phone and some of the videos were a 50' toss down a set of concrete stairs.
Sounds like the UAG might not be the best case for me.
Thanks for the reply

Well, it's been a week since I received my UAG in Black for my S4.
I'll keep this short & sweet, as I posted in detail my observations about this case.
The UAG is definitely a keeper and am impressed with it.
As for the case maybe not being as grippy as I'd like, and I was going to let some time pass to see if it would be an issue, it's no issue at all. The case is not slippery at all, and offerers a good hold.
I haven't dropped the S4 yet, so I can't given you any feedback on drop protection, except what I wrote in my op.

Have ever had the Incipio dualpro case?
If so how does the Uag compare to it?
there I said it.
-fits perfectly
-protects, like seriously
-not too thin, not too thick, just right
-not slippery, adds hand fitting design, holds well
-not fugly too thick for the sake of protection
-doesn't cost an arm and a leg
-isnt a lint or dirt magnet
-nothing crazy like waterproof or seethru
-protects your camera too, and front screen
-won't scratch your bezel
I just have to share this as many of you are still wasting time and money trying out diff cases. I suggest getting yourself a Thor first then knock yourself out with experimenting with all the others if you must. but for now, Thor is the best.
other companies really failed us on this one. they just wanted to release cases faster than they can test them out. turning us into guinea pigs.
Im sure that it doesnt have tech21 material on it. Tech21 cases are probably better than any cases out there and it has evidence with videos..
Pics?
I have to agree about the Tech21 case. I have it and it is light years away from the others I tried. Very nice case for the Note 4.
lol so superb
Agreed with LeoNote4 100%. I haven't removed the case since I got it. Much better feel than the Spigen cases. I have all of the Spigen cases and UAG Scout. May try the Tech21 Impact Tactical.
Anyone know if either of these will fit if I am using the OEM wireless charging cover?

at some point, a company has to find the perfect balance over one perfect feature. tech21 major design flaw is it's design. it prides itself and rightly so on total protection of the device. this comes at a huge compromise in design. in addition to that dull appearance, the case also creates a lot of smudge from your hands and fingers. it gets annoying to clean up everytime and it looks too gross to show others.
users would find themselves looking for a case that still provides decent protection, maybe bulletproof is overkill, but just enough safety feature and still covers all the other points. nobody said its perfect in all areas, but what Thor provides is that reasonable balance in design, protection, grip, price without compromising so much on one or two features.

Umm except you forgot the fact that its thick and ugly lol. Rinkle slim is my favorite one so far. I mean I got a beautiful looking phone and I'm not gonna put that kind of case on it. But that's just my opinion.

I have the Tech21 Impactology wallet case and the OEM charging back; regrettably it does not fit but it's my favorite case with the normal back cover.
Can anyone using the Verus Thor case recommend, ideally from experience, a good car mount? In part because of the curved sides, it's difficult for me to judge the case's effective width use in a car mount.
TIA

I'm still a fan of the Otterbox Defender and the UAG cases. I have used both on my Notes. I don't mind the additional thickness in exchange for protection. I have dropped my Note 3 from chest high onto my concrete driveway with each case and the phone has survived just fine. I have gotten out of my car and forgotten that my phone was in my lap, only to have it drop onto the concrete. No problem!! I have seen all of the video's and listened to the claims of other cases, but I can personally attest to the fact that the 2 cases I have mentioned will protect your investment should you ever drop it.

Hey, I am very excited about the upcoming releases of the new phones at Mwc 2015
We will meet new and high end Samsung Galaxy S6 soon
What do you expect for the specifics of the phone?
What kind of cases are you waiting for ? Slim ? Heavy duty? Hybrid combination ? Luxury leather case? Cool metal construction?
Otter box ? Life proof? Book book? Griffin? Speck?
This thread is about the cases from major brands which are trusted and reliable.

I prefer Spgien Impact Protection [Resilient] Case
spigen by far http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/accessories/spigen-neo-hybrid-spigen-s6-t3044005
although i do have my eyes on a case by Obliq http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=as2&tag=cstrike0a-20&linkId=SKPM4Q4WCTKQAQCK
very similar to the Spigen Neo Hybrid, except you get 3 different Interchangeable frames:
Slim case and a film protector would complete the protection I need for such beautiful S6 Edge. There's lot of accessories that are on sale right now, so it would be great to check em out. There's one that's really, really affordable- KlearCut screen protectors
I can't justify the prices of Otterbox right now. iirc it will be around $40~
This is an Otterbox alternative at less than half the price. i have one on preorder, from my experience Spigen cases are just as high quality.
Spigen [HEAVY DUTY] Tough Armor it comes in 4 different colors
this is also another option:
Obliq [HEAVY DUTY] comes in 6 different colors.

Otter box has holster , but this one has none .

Hi fellow members it's that time again where I will be reviewing Samsung Galaxy Note 9 cases and screen protectors. Some of you will already know me from previous threads and forums on Xda.
I take requests and answer any questions you may have so feel free to ask.
Review of the Official Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Real leather wallet cover.
Pros;
Genuine Leather
Soft microfiber lining
Thin profile
Feels premium
OEM case so fit is great
Sleep wake function
Cons;
Price
Not fully protected sides exposed
Flip doesn't stay closed
Only room for 1 card
No led cutout
Camera cutout is too big
No stand function
This is the first leather case from Samsung and it is a good attempt, I have been using this case for a week and it has grown on me. It is made from genuine Italian leather which feels great and is available in 3 different colours, black, red and umber.
Check out my video review of it below if you require any more information or want to see the case in the flesh and feel free to ask me any questions.
Review of the Official Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Silicone Cover,
Pros;
Feels great in hand
Works with the whitestone dome
Good quality Silicone
Microfiber lining
Buttons easy to press
Available in 4 colours
Cons;
Price is a little bit too expensive for a Silicone case
Bottom is exposed
This case feels fantastic in hand, Samsung have used a good quality thick silicone which feels soft and doesn't attract lint. There is plenty of lip protection and the camera is well recessed into the back of the case so no need to worry about laying down on a desk. The price is a little bit too expensive for me personally especially since the bottom is open and exposed. If you want to check out the full review for a better look at the case the use the link below;
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Spigen Case Line-Up Review,
I take a look at the Spigen case line up where I review cases like the Tough Armor, liquid crystal, neo hybrid, etc. Spigen cater to everyone's taste and these cases are responsibly priced. A Plus point is they all work with the whitestone dome screen protector as I have tested them. If you need to see more check out my review, I have time stamped the video to make it easier to get to the case you want. The link is below:
Review of the Official Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Clear Silicone Cover, if you want a clear case to show off the colour of your Note 9 consider this review link :
Pros
Perfect fit
Doesn't add much bulk
Shows of the colour of your phone
Cons
Price
No heavy duty drop protection
Will yellow over time
Fingerprint magnet
This is a clear tpu case from Samsung for the note 9, it feels nice without adding much bulk, however its not designed for ultimate drop protection.

3. D3O
4. Not too bulky

Yes, finally one of my favorite brands that hardly anyone talks about this side of the pond. I was hoping to get the Battersea line this time around for my Note 9. Was very pleased with the Piccadilly model when I had a Note 8. Thanks.

Gear gives better protection
Real Alcantara and Carbon fiber case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. This case is made by SCF also known as Simply Carbon fiber, it is a luxury case but it feels great. Check out the review here:
Pros
1. Feels great
2. Unusual design
3. Premium materials
4. Grip
5. Works with Whitestone Dome screen protector
Cons
1. Price
2. Not the most protective case
3. Shipping and taxes depending where you live
This case feels great and luxurious, it has enough lip protection around the screen and camera but it's not the most protective cover available for the note 9. The grip is excellent and the buttons are very good but could be a little more tactile imho.
I am in middle to decide which is better X Doria or spigen though Armor, if anyone has used both then please suggest
Guys, i need a screen protector from Aliexpress. Which one do you advice?

If only it weren't fingerprint & oil magnet, I would use this case all the time. Wondering if there's any case out there with the same thickness but different material.
How about samsung s-view flip cover? and cases from tech21? Can you please review them?
