Please Help - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a tf300t us sku.
I unlocked it about a year ago. I was running pacman, when in April, my lcd cracked. So, I bought a new lcd and replaced it. In the process of replacing the lcd, the digitizer cracked! So, I ordered a new digitizer. I installed it, and seems pretty solid, and looks good, but touch still does not work.
So, I thought maybe I had to update the touch firmware. Tried to run a command to fix that with the updated firmware, but my rom returned that the update_fw was not found.
I think I need to be on stock to fix it. So I downloaded V10.6.1.27.5 Only for US SKU (Android 4.2) from the asus website. I tried to put it on an sdcard, and transfer it over. It found the sdcard the first time and seemed to install the sku no problem. But it bootlooped! So i tried again, same thing! I keep bootlooping. Before all of this happened, I was already on 4.2 bootloader and all that, so i should be fine, but it's not working. I don't know how to exit this bootloop...
Edit:
I just tried to flash twrp. Seemed to flash fine, but when I try to boot into twrp I don't have a recovery....
Edit 2:
Got twrp installed. seems that I have 5% battery life. so I'm gonna charge it all the way up then try to flash the firmware.
Edit 3:
I did a cold reset, which fixed the bootloop. After I could boot I flashed philz recovery. Problem was, I had ghost touches. So it was hard to get root. Finally got root and successfully updated touch screen fw. Its running very well now, bout to slap pacman on this guy.

[A700] Touch screen not working after latest OTA

Something very strange happened yesterday.
I got the latest OTA and installed it, after this the touch screen is not responding at all.
I managed to control the tablet with an usb mouse, so I have been able to do a factory reset, but to no avail.
Just now I'm clueless on what to do.
I actually did on more thing in the same process; the initial reason for why I took up the tablet yesterday, was to put on a screen protector film.
So while it was updating I put on the screen protector, after all this was done the touch screen was not responding. I don't think this issue has nothing to do with the screen protector, and I have also now removed the film. But still the screen does not react to touch.
But what to do from here?
Is it possible to revert to a previous version of the firmware?
I doubt reversion is the best option.
If this was common this forum would be flooded with complaints.
It might have been something to do with putting on the screen protector DURING an update.
Factory reset may help. Did you try the pinhole reset switch?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I can use the tablet with a usb mouse, and have been able to do a factory reset. But this did not difference.
I have also tried the pinhole reset, no luck...
I have the same issue.
I tried back to ICS stock rom. Touch screen is not responding too. :crying:

Interesting.
Was it after the latest OTA the touch screen stopped working? Or was it something else that started this?
My tablet is stock in every way, never been rooted or had other roms installed.
I could of course send it in to service, but since I bought the tablet while on holiday in Washington DC and I reside in Norway, it's a little unpractical.

what is your image version and touch FW version? my A700 touch function is normal after OTA update.
my image is Acer_AV051_A700_RV19RC01_TWN_GEN1
touch FW version:AT0-22F40-F6935B
My touch screen work again.
I back to ICS stock rom (Acer_AV043_A700_RV07RC06_EMEA_FR), then I apply the update (Acer_A700_AV043.RV07RC06_AV043.RV23RC04_EMEA_FR).
Now I'm on JB (Acer_A700_AV043.RV23RC04_AV051.RV10RC01_EMEA_FR). All Work fine.

Thanks. Compared to yours I see that there is some problem with my touch FW version. On my tablet it says AT0-0-0.
Image version reads Acer_AV051_A700_1.052.00_PA_CUS1
Is it a way for me to fix this? Could I perhaps reapply some of the patches?

Seems the touch FW is incorrect.Maybe you can download the OS upgrade image from Acer website and reflash OS. I checked the image and it should packed touch FW. If still failed, maybe contact Acer service is good way to solve your problem.
Good luck.
I had the same problem this week, bought the Tablet on monday, made the OTA Update and boom, no Touch input.
I resolved it by unlock my device, flash CWM and then flashed a older full rom.
After that i made the OTA Update again and this time it worked well.
I can upload the ROM i used for this if it's needed.

Thanks. I have fixed my tablet now.
I managed to reflash an older rom, taken from Acer site. And then upgraded via ota to the latest version.
I did not need to use cwm. Just started the tablet the power + volume - combination

Problem: Screen touches are bugged..
Hi,
I need some urgent help..
I upgraded my A700 (was shipped with 4.0.4) to JB but the screen touches are completely off track. I did the following:
1) unlocked the bootloader
2) flashed CWM Rom 6.0.1.5
3) installed cm-10
Don't know what to do next..
I have an Acer A700 and I'm having the same problem as others here.
Once I upgarded my ROM, the A700 touch-screen did not work.
I found a post that explained a fix. Here's what I did:
* Flashed the non-touch CWM v6.0.1.5
* Wiped everything (system, data, cache, dalvik)
* Installed the IconiaN ROM (by Vorbeth) and choose the option to have IconiaN upgrade my "Touch Firmware"
* The A700 is now booting with version JB-653b3d3 (Unlocked)
* The ROM loads just fine
However, in the ROM, the touchscreen does not work. Clicking in one place on the screen will trigger a click in an entirely different area of the screen.
I then tried installing one of the stock Acer ROMs from their website through CWM. None of them would load, not sure why?
Other people here seem to have solved the problem by flashing an "older ROM" from Acer. I could not find any trace of this older ROM.
I'm running an American version (PA1_CUS) if that makes any difference? I've also tried installing CM 10.1 with the same problems in the touchscreen.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Where can i get the acer software to update? i've tried to find it on the acer website but i cant find it.
please help. i just got the device and i updated it and now a portion of the screen becomes unresponsive to touch input.
toggling the screen on and off will fix it temporarily but that only lasts for 5 minutes max before it stops being responsive again.
Every thing on it is stock so i want to keep it that way

Try Google and search for your Rom Build number. Should be able to find the update file. You can also try some of the Acer support sites. I remember they have some ICS full roms for the 700.
Next of course, you're going to ask how to install it?
1. Decrypt the original update file (tool is in the themes and apps forum)
2. Using 7zip, OPEN the decrypted file (DO NOT UNZIP IT)
3. Pull the "update.zip" (NO NOT UNZIP IT)
4. Copy the update.zip to your ext sd card
5. Start tablet holding PWR & Vol- or + (can't remember which) until you see the text in upper left corner then release. Now, JB may have a different stock recovery which offers a small menu. I believe you can select the install update from there.
If the update doesn't install, it may be the wrong update file, so you'll have to search for another.
Anyhow, should work for you. But you may have to roll back to the original ICS rom (full version) then OTA update again.
Remember though, you do this at your own risk, so if things get messed up, don't blame anybody

Thank you for the detailed help!
after many google searches i finally found the update files on the acer website!
i managed to go back to ics then re update to jb
and for a while my screen had no issues but they came back again. Im begining to think that its a hardware related issue because it comes and goes. I am going to see if my warranty with square trade will get it fixed.

Freeze and infinite loop after installing Custom ROM [SOLVED]

I just bought a TF700T and immediatelly decided to install a Custom ROM. I had a Motorola Xoom before, so I recognize that was a monster hard to brick, but in my first hours with this new child, I'm suffering quite a lot, so I decided to ask for help.
First, the tablet was at Android 4.1. I unlocked the booloader, then I installed a new Recovery Menu. From what I read, it seems that TWRP is the recommended one recently, so I took it (version 2.6.3.1).
In there, I tried to install a Custom ROM, PAC-man, I downloaded a non nightly image, a little over 170MB (So I guess it's full and not just some random update), wiped the tablet (Full), flashed, restarted and the custom loader started, but soon it froze and restarted. It was the first infinite loop.
Then I decided to get the nightly image. Did the same thing, wipe, flash, restart, got the same results.
Then I gave up from PAC-man, and got BAM Android. Got their RC version, wipe, flash, restart, loading screen, freeze, and restart loop.
So am I forgetting something that should be done for the TF700?

Your on 4.1, thus you have 4.1 bootloader. Those roms require a 4.2 bootloader. My recommendation would be to read through CROMI-X thread from sbdags for detailed instructions for upgrading.

Oh, what a relief, thanks for the extra note, I didn't knew even the bootloader has versions, but it seems that now I understand another doubt that I had, though unrelated to this case.
I'll give it a look, at first I was looking at the latest Xenogenesis 5 thread, but I just saw the previous version (4.7.0 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223492 ) and seems like I found my answer in the first post. I'll try it tonight.
Thanks for fast answer
Yeah, it worked, thanks.
Just installed the bootloader, and the ROM worked.

[Q] Touch funtionality dosnt work after 05Q

I got the OTA 05Q update yesterday for my OnePlus.
After installing this all looked fine, until i tried to unlock my phone. The screen no longer registered when i touched it.
I can reboot it. I can get into recovery and/or ADB.
I have done a complete wipe of the phone. I have re flashed the old 44S.
Still the touch functionality on my phone doesn't seem to work at all.
Anyone got any tricks for me ?
was your phone rooted or were you stock??
It was stock. not rooted.
How did you reflash 44S?
Transmitted via Bacon
Come to think of it, i am not completely sure if i have re flashed it.
I booted up my OPO and transferred the file i got from cyanogen. I went into the recovery and reflashed the file from there.
But im not actually sure it worked.

What file? What's the filename? They don't have a recovery flashable version.
Transmitted via Bacon
Honestly i cant remember what file. I've tried so many things now.
So how can i get this one back on track? I guess i have to use some app on windows todo so. Where i can flash a precious rom on it.
The fact that you can't remember what file is pretty worrisome in itself. Your best bet is to flash the stock images with fastboot, see section 8 of my guide. But you'll need to download the 44S images instead obviously (the guide has a link to 05S).
Transmitted via Bacon
I have tried todo that. But still my touch doesn't work on the screen.
Last night i tried to use the [TOOL] OnePlusRecovery Tool (V1.0). Now my phone is just stuck on black screen. Keep pressing power button does not help. So my phone is now stuck in the USB Debug mode.
Got my phone back to life. Got it flashed back to 44s and all was fine. Updated via OTA to 05Q now touch is not working again. God i hate this.
Seems to be working now. Use the files i got from their support.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/ONEPLUS+ONE-FIX-Windows.zip
Applied this one to get it back to 44S. Touch still didnt work. I let the battery drain to below 10% and rebooted the device. Now touch was working again. Applied the 05Q update via OTA and it was still working.
Kinda strange in my opinion "fix". But hey its working.

[Solved] Not Bricked yet.. Need assistance

Brief back story goes like this. Working TF300T running JB, was running slow and laggy so it seems a good time to flash something new. I'm no android/linux pro but I have a good base knowledge (you may question this statement later) . Successfully unlocked and flashed CM12 and TWRP. Tablet ran ok, sometimes significant lag, updated to a few different nightlies, then eventually decided to go back to stock. This is where it all went wrong. I followed the instructions here on XDA by d_crossfader. The flash seemed to go as expected, wiped cache/dalvik, rebooted. Loaded up to stock JB but no wifi, rebooted, all went bad. Stuck at the silver ASUS with spinning dots screen.
here's what working at this point.
I can load to fastboot, recovery etc, and have re-installed TWRP, the latest 2.8.1 failed install, but 2.6 is working (since I've read that this rev has issues).
I went back to the CM12.1 ROM I had working and it seems to flash fine but GAPPS fails, gives 'E: error updating binary in zip' for /boot and /recovery.
I think I've exhausted my abilities so it's time to call in people with actual skills.
What should my next move be? I'd be happy with stock or custom ROM's just like to get it back to functioning.
Thanks

Shield Tablet LTE stuck at Bootmenue/Bootloop

Hey Folks,
got some messy Prob's with my old nVidia Shield LTE Tablet.
The Facts:
-KillSwitch not Triggered and it was succesfully Rooted in November 2015, TEGRA-OTA was also Removed (nomoreota)
-worked for Months (beneath one year), only Super-SU penetrated me periodely that it needs to be Updated, but it couldnt be done, it said "not enough Space" after trying to install a newer Version. :silly:
-past Month (January 2017) i decided to do a Factory-Reset, because Girlfriend should get the Shield, thats where the Problem started:
After clicking Factory-Reset, it began to work. After 4 Hours and nothing happening, i decided to Power it Off and start fresh with Installing a clean Stock-ROM and remove the TEGRA-OTA as i done a year before.
But from now on things get messy and to complicated for me.
In the Past i rooted and flashed it with "Shield-RAM", found here on xda.
But this Time it didnt ended with a working Shielt-Tablet. It stucks alwas in a Bootloop, in Recoverymode also as in normally booting the flashed OS.
Confused an disturbed by this, i tried different Recoverys (TWRP 2.8 and 3.0, also a CWM), all with the same Effect: Bootloop
Now i only can acces the Bootmenue which says Bootloader Unlocked.
I dont now what to do from here on and would be very happy and glad, if someone can help me figuring out whats going wrong.
If further Details are needed i will do my best to provide things i forgot here to mention.
With kind regards - ToxicFighter1

Hi !
There is this thread where you can try to get it back to stock https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/unofficial-update-original-shield-t3281541
This nice index may help as well
Good luck !
Thanks, but that's not the problem. If I boot into Fastboot / Bootloader, it's totally fine. In fact, I can plug the tablet up to my PC when it's in any state and doesn't experience the issue. It only occurs when I have it plugged into AC. SO far, I've tried 3-4 different cables and power supplies for 2.4A, 2.1A, and 1.2A - all adapters which worked 100% prior to updating.
Suggestions?
OK - Finally fixed it...
I replaced everything as shown above, but ran into the issue again as soon as FlashFire installed the OTA. So, I tried a different way to upgrade and no longer have the issue. Below is what I did...
- Installed 4.4.0 via ADB/fastboot wirhOEM recovery
- Completed initial setup and upgraded to 5.0 via built in system update
- Rebooted
- Booted to bootloader and flashed TWRP recovery
- Booted to TWRP
- Installed SuperSU via sideload
I would have started out applying 5.0 via adb/fastboot, but have yet to see a full image available yet. Used same TWRP and SuperSU as originally used. Just eliminated GlashFire from process. Once I rebooted and everything loaded, plugged into 2.4a power, and it worked without going into boot loop.
Hope this may help someone else - Thanks
Hey Folks,
thx for the few answers, i'll try these Tips out the upcomig Days.

Hey there, and personally Thx for the provided Link.
As announced i did try it, but with no Success.
I'll or explicit the Tablet gets Stuck at Step 17, the Bootsreen doesn't disapear.
Dont know whats Wrong, cause i did all as menitioned in the Post, every ADB/Fastbootstep with Succes-Message, and because Bootloader was already Unlocked, i took the Rooted Image.
But now, im still on Bootscreen, sick
With kind regards!
