[Q] CRT Screen Off Animation? - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Does anybody's S II Plus or ROM have the actual, proper (in my opinion) version of the CRT screen off animation?
To detail a bit, I am looking for the one where you can see the screen's contents scaling down into a horizontal white flash line, and can also observe a subtle "chromatic aberration" effect.
If I remember correctly, I have only seen it in the first build of the unofficial Dirty Unicorns ROM port for our phone, and it seems to be gone now in the subsequent builds. I cannot yet post in the development section to get an explanation.
The "bad" version of the effect that I have always had is quicker, choppier, and the screen somehow turns black before the white flash - the scale down + chromatic aberration effect is nowhere to be seen.
Here is an example video of the kind of effect I'm looking for:

Its available on SAZY ROM v5.0 (Stock 4.2.2)

[REQ] Tips & tricks for "designing" and optimizing a boot animation

This is not about "how do I make a boot animation." I've got the packaging and installing down.
This is about how to fix, tweak, and optimize the animation images to get a smooth consistent animation.
I have a boot animation that I'm working on. It's based on the stock animation. I just want to tweak it to my likings. Also, I've made a splash screen that is a composite of animation frames, plus HTC and unrevoked logos (see attached preview).
I have 3 parts to my animation:
Fade from splash to stock frame 10 (replacing the Droid) (avg size ~120kb)
Bulk of the stock animation (begins around 90kb and drops to 21kb)
Loop of the eye with the red dots moving (all ~21kb)
My problems:
My fade section is yielding some black screens (maybe I'm pushing the CPU too hard and it just skips frames).
The loop is WAY too fast. (small frame size = FAST playback?)
Doubling the frames for the eye loop results in a choppy, not much slower animation. It looks like a caching thing to me.
So... Any tips or suggestions for working around the animation "bugs"?
My gut is telling me it's a file size (speed is controlled by data bandwidth) and/or compression issue (speed is controlled by CPU rendering time).

[Q] [MOD] Mod Sense 4 system apps for light text on dark background

Hi there,
Given the impact on power consumption for AMOLED displays of large white areas, it is actually surprising how the colours are chosen in Sense.
I am considering to try my hand on modding the Sense 4 base apps to white(ish?) text on black background. I found a case of contacts app or message app being modded this way for an older Sense version, but surprisingly little relevant information seems to be available.
So before I start: is this a feasible endeavour? Is there a reason why this hasn't been done yet?
Any tips to make this easier or what to watch out for (I'm new at themeing but have experience building custom ROMs and general programming knowledge)
Thanks for any info!

Illusion Rom: Homescreen doesn't use the whole screen real estate

I'm running the Illusion custom rom provided by $droyd$. I'm loving the rom, but the home screen doesn't seem to use the whole screen like liquid smooth did. I can't seem to shift my cLock widget to the very top of the screen (see picture). Right now, I have it at the very top that the rom will allow. Where do I go to change this behaviour?
Apparently, I cannot post outside links. Please paste this link and go there...

Note: I would post this on the illusion thread, but I can't due to the lack of post that I have done
I'm not 100% sure if this is the problem, I had it when I first put LiquidSmooth on my One S - It looks like your problem might be your LCD Density settings. I don't know much about Illusion as I've never used it. The HTC One S has an LCD Density of 256 PPI, most phones use 240 (I always set my to 240 rather than 256).

[Live Wallpaper] [Android 5.0+] Shiny- AMOLED Edge Highlight Live Wallpaper

Shiny is a live wallpaper that gives you a highlighted side border with a shifting gradient. It is especially good for amoled displays. You have control over the corner radius and border width to customize it to your own taste.
This app will be receiving many features, so stay tuned for that.

List of features i will be adding(suggest a feature only if it is not in this list):
1. Ability to select different colours for the edge.
2. Ability to apply this to the lock screen only.
3 Ability to add a custom image instead of the black background.
Nice work man! Before other features I just want those discontinuities on upper left and right edges removed, please work on that.
What discontinuities? If you are talking about the darkening of the top left and right edges in the preview , it is not the app but an overlay of the Android system ( The set wallpaper text is written on it). It does not look the same when it is applied.
The previous version used to clip the corners but I have fixed it... If you think there is something else please show me a screenshot, so that I can understand...?
Using it on my Asus Zenfone 5z. Works perfectly.
Can you add Notch support just like that OP 6 wallpaper?

Sure
same thing as the other one in the OP6 thread, no option to set custom wallpaper, and it displays over the notch cutting a portion on top unfortunately

Thanks for your work but I need to set only lock screen
I have been wanting something like this for a while now! Thank you! I hope in the future you add more effect styles, much like the edge effects on Samsung software.
I see that you plan on allowing custom images too which is appreciated.
Can't wait to see where you go with this!
Can someone mirror it to AFH please? I can't download it on the link given for unknown reason. TYSM..
Nice , is more higher Speed Factor possible?

Thanks i will try it

Please set 'OPR of Always On State under 15%' when Build Watch Face

When build the custom watch face, the setting for Galaxy Watch Designer 'Current OPR' for 'Always on state' is too high which recommend to set lower than 15%. It is advice to reduce lower than 15% for this setting before build successfully.
Is anyone know how to adjust the low bit color to lower than 15%?
I suggest you have the image for the AOD to have more black in the background. Pure black pixels are completely off so it will help in lowering your OPR. Check images for a face I use. You can see the difference in OPR in the sample images. Hope this helps.

I was having the same issue with my OPR (On Pixel Ratio) being too high and searched the net for a long time tonight. I even modified the background image that I was using to be very dark (almost couldn't even see the original graphic). I also played with the text color for each section. I turned off all AOD settings and still couldn't build my TPK. I didn't seem to have this problem before version 1.6.2 but finally figured it out.
The image I was using was 256 X 256 so of course I had to resize it to fix within the Circle Template. What I did wrong was to stretch the image out way beyond the Circle Template lines. So I went and modified my original image so when I re-sized it, it didn't go beyond the Circle Template lines very much. This allowed me to not even have to create an AOD image (I was creating a watch face for personal use only) then I could build the .TPK (for either 4.0 or 3.0) and install on my watch.
I've included a screenshot to show my mistake and the correction.
