Dear Devs. I purchased an Aoson M1013 tablet. Basically it is a 10.1 inch cheap quad-core tablet with A9 Cortex processor, 1GB of RAM. Although the specs are not bad, I have the feeling that the software side is responsible for the tablet's weakness. Under weakness I mean several things and symptoms. The tablet died on me twice in a way that it was only willing to boot into its factory recovery which didn't let me move on to any direction. First I sent it to a tablet shop where they refreshed the factory firmware. Then it was working for a time but the the same thing happened again. I managed to reflash the factory rom by myself, I didn't want to pay any more for maintenance, I'm not a wealthy person. Overall there is the experience that it partially freezes for shorter-longer periods of time. It is exactly like it's lagging or something. It freezes at times and then continues operating with hectic window movement while it's trying to make up for the touch input done while it was temporally freezing. It seems to be a processor issue but I believe it is the question of software and governors maybe. Upon activating wifi these freezes mulitply and the tablet gets really slow. Other times it is really smooth and quickly running, this is why I think it is a software issue. It feels as if it had a soul or something, like there was a ghost in the machine or something. Therefore I would like to ask devs to compile a well-working custom rom for this device. So far I haven't found any of these online, although I was able to root the tablet and install CWM on it. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Yes, that's correct that we have no forums or threads about your device.
But if you want, you can build your own CWM recovery with these guides
XDA University: Porting ClockworkMod Recovery to New Devices
Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development > [GUIDE] Compile CWM Recovery
About root, you can use Framaroot => [ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices
Good luck
Root and CWM done
Hello
Thank you for the quick reaction, CWM and ROOT are already done. Now what I really crave for is a simple custom rom with no special requests, just a smooth responsive ability to operate the hardware of the tablet. It really seems like the factory ROM is not doing what it is supposed to. As for custom ROMs, I don't know if ROMs for other devices can be installed to this tablet or not. I would like to know if there are any compatible possibilities.
For the last part of your request, I really don't know. It seems that you're the only one with this device here.
But if you follow this guide, you can build your own rom for your specific device
XDA University: Building Your Own Android Rom
Good luck

Hey everyone just got a milestone from COX Communications, Great phone so far. But im trying everything i can through RSD and i cant get it to work keeps saying its failing. Anyone have ideas as to what could be wrong?
Why do you need rsdlite to root phone? You can get many apps from market for this purpose.

To root Milestone, you can install Universal Androot. it is an one-click root app.
But don't I need vulnerable recovery installed to get open recovery and install custom roms? Title probably should have been worded differently.

Yes you do, although you should be creating a thread in the General section, or look there, a lot of people have the same questions you do.
First step into the custom ROM world
I believe besides rooting somewhere down the road you would also want to try custom ROMs.
If that's the case, here's the solution for you. Most of us use this method.

I don't mean to be mean or anything, but as of now, the motorola milestone is kind of low-end compared to devices like the samsung galaxy s2. The motorola milestone has a 550mhz processor, with 256mb ram, while devices like the samsung galaxy s 2 has 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1G+ of DDR1 ram (I'm pretty sure its ddr1, and similar devices such as the atrix are also very high-end but not as great as the samsung galaxy s 2) Don't get me wrong, there are a large variety of roms available for the milestone, and updates being made time to time.
On topic: you will have to install GOT 2.2.1 update with Vulnerability exploit already injected then root from Open Recovery, but I heard that Universal Android Root or somrthing like that also works. Good luck
I don't understand why some people can't just read the first few forum topics... It's literally right there... a whole guide that explains everything...
Hi everyone,
I am pretty much a complete newb when it comes to rooting and flashing android devices, but I would like to try a custom ROM to speed up my TF101. I currently have a TF101 running ICS 4.0.3, with a build number of 9.2.1.27 - 20126015. I really want to get some knowledge of how to root, flash, and everything else to improve the performance of my tablet while sacrificing as little stability as possible.
I've been looking for guides and tutorials to help newbs like me, but I can't find anything stickied on the forums. Can anyone direct me to the appropriate resources, or explain the whole process to me like I'm 4? I do have a little bit of experience with flashing ROMs, as I had an old HTC Touch Pro that I had custom ROMs on - back when it was a way longer and more painful process than on devices now.
Thanks,
fedorsauce
look for PERI tool in the forum, use it to install a recovery, then from that recovery, you can flash any ROM you want. all roms come pre rooted i think.
have to u looked into this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689193
this root your tablet in one click and also flash TWRP

Hi developers, I have this Sony phone and there is no custom ROM for this device yet and I would like to create one for my own use and possibly made it available for others if I am successful. I am so tired of the bloated software which I can't get rid of that I don't care about bricking this phone anymore.
Some years ago I used to fix computers, printers and networks for banks. I'm new in Android systems but not in computer systems. I did Install OS's like linux flavors or updated printer firmwares in my days so this is not new for me, I just want a little of a guidance to start.
I know how to root my Android system using the app called TOWEL ROOT (the only that has worked in this phone).
The next step that haven't done yet is unlocking the BOOTLOADER, which I don't find difficult to do according to what I have read so far.
My concern is: there is no custom ROM to install after the BOOTLOADER is unlocked, so if I want one I would have to build one. I've watched a tutorial on youtube and I've read the cyanogenmod wiki, but the amount of information is so huge that I got lost and frustrated and that's the help I ask. Could any of you tell me the information I need to read to understand how I could port a custom ROM to my device?
If more information is necessary I'll be glad to provide.
Nobody has made a custom rom for e1.make if you like.

I'm no expert here, but maybe you could try this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro
Your phone is fairly new and I'm pretty sure kernel sources are on Sony's website, so maybe one of you guys could give it a shot. I would, but I don't have an E1.
I would like to install something like cyanogenmod on my phone. There are no builds specifically for any kyocera phones that I can see. I was wondering if I could use an image built for another phone so long as it ran the same version (4.4.2), build (kvt49l), and kernel (3.4.x)
The phone was easy enough to root, but would like some of the benefits of an aftermarket os.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi!
First...no, you can't use a rom not made for your specific device. Not without a very high risk of bricking your device. Definitely not a wise idea.
I found a thread on rooting, http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/root-guide-kyocera-hydro-vibe-t2831228
But no roms for your device on XDA that I can find. Feel free to ask here if you want though....

Good luck!
I own a videocon VT85C tablet. Its roughly 5 to 6 years old. This thing has 1Gb RAM.
I have rooted this device thanks to XDA team, however, presently I would like to flash a custom ROM on it.
I have tried official TWRP app but my device isn't listed on it. Even tried with clockworkmod and flashify but couldn't find a working thing.
I don't want this device to get bricked.
So basically I wanted help regarding some discussion on this device. A help would be very much appreciated.
Yes I am a new registered user here, so might be getting some difficulty to adapt to this environment. Thank You. Please help
