[Completed] Educational tablet customization - XDA Assist

Hello XDA Community!
I am working on a small nonprofit project to bring educational tablers to rural areas of Thailand.
I would like to ask you guys to help me out with the task. There are 100 chinese tablets donated.
I am looking for a way to upload multiple educational apps at once and customize the tablet look and feel, so far I have found solution to upload multiple APKs with mass-apk-installer
For customization I have found Themer, which unfortunately is not compatibile with the tablet.
Then I came across Desktop VisualizeR this one looks promising, but customizing manually 100 tablets will be ages of manual work.
I have also posted here and received some suggestions, but none of theme were working. I will try to be more specific with the goal I am trying to achieve.
At the end I will have lets say 20 APKs with educational games. I would like to change the home screen so every one has different background and customized big icons,
preferably 4x bigger than original size. The 'icons' should have custom descriptions. At the end I would like to fully customize one tablet and have some kind of solution to easily port all settings and customizations to rest 99 tablets.
I would kindly request specific answer to my problem, not links to general tutorials. Please help me out! The kids will grately appreciate your help.
:victory:

Hi!
I'm sorry, but XDA Assist's purpose is exactly that....to provide navigation of the site. We can't provide support I'm afraid.
I've read your other thread, and the links there are the best places to ask those questions in.
Or, you can try the general Android Q&A section....found here...
>*Android Development and Hacking*>*Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
I hope you achieve your goals! ?

I'll add.....tutorials and guides are the back bones of XDA. Everyone must learn to use the great resources already here on XDA. Repeating the information is counterproductive for everyone.
XDA is about reading, learning and especially... Doing.
Good luck! ?

Thats easy! :silly: Just take one tablet and customize it the way you want the others.
Next, install a custom recovery like twrp or clockworkmod, dont worry you dont have to root the tablets!
Create an backup using this recovery and copy this backup to all tablets and restore them.
Finished!
If you have questions about the custom recovery, just ask me!

[Completed] Make an planning app for money. Interested?

Hey, guys!!!
I am not very talented at coding because of the lack and the lazyness of figuring out how it works. Therefore I would like to ask the community of the forum to make a good looking app which should help people to plan and should have features like entering dates on a calander, to do, timer with data and link an webpage with the app. The app should not be bad looking and should have all features. If done so I will pay on a fixed amount of money of course not too much but starting from 45 $/€ onwards. If you are good at coding this will be a quick opportunity of making a lot of cash.:fingers-crossed::good::angel:

[email protected]
P.S the linking of the website will be send if you write an email to me and are interested. Could you guys please keep in mind that this app should be finished by the end of this week and the features should be included.
Hi!
You could ask for help here:
>*Android Development and Hacking*>*Android Software Development
You'll want to start your thread title with [Help] or maybe [Request] for easily identified as such a thread.
Good luck!

[Completed] Why does this Forum website make me suicidal and/or murderous with its complexity?

I consider myself a rational intelligent man but I find this site insanely complex, non-intuitive,an extremely frustrating! After sleepless hours and hours and hours and hours of trying to familiarise myself with this place, this 64 year old man is sitting here in tears trying to find his last post among other simple tasks attempted. Does there not exist here, a simple starting tutorial to introduce one to the basic workings of this place? Please help.
My problems partially solved.
My problems partially solved ...
I FINALLY found a downloadable and functional apk for this forum's app (Google Play store will not play with my device at present ... That is one of the reasons that I am here) ... and that is helping me a LOT!
Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to make it a point to strongly recommend the XDA forums app to newly arriving members here.
I TRULY think that the website UI here could use some development to make it much more new-user-friendly, however.
... Another point ...
Maybe I am missing some kind of search filtering option, but, I do not see any value in hundreds of thousands of non-applicable and irrelevant search results when trying to find something here. Perhaps someone could direct me to such filtering options if they do, indeed, exist.
In closing, I must say that the reception I received when joining here was very pleasant and I am already on my way via some help
and advice from a couple of members here to solve my crashed Play Store problem.

I personally find hundreds of thousands of non applicable and irrelevant search results on very specifically searched items very very very unhelpful...

You should be able to see all your previous posts in your profile and link to the thread there. Xda is confusing unless you know what u want from it. For me if i have a question i just pop it in xda search bar and relevant threads pop up. But if u want to learn everything then u have to come up with a specific thing first theres not really a guide to it all. But u should be able to find almost anything with the right search. If not post question in a help or q&a thread. I will help just let me know what u r looking for

I simply HAD to tether to my PC as I simply CANNOT function on this site via my smartphone ... it is HORRENDOUS. I can't even figure out how to THANK people hardly or reply to their help ...
DAYAM ... what takes seconds here takes HOURS there ... SO MANY BUGS ... photo verification of reply to prove I am not a robot half way off the farking page ... and MANY MANY other concerns.
The help is great but the UI is SO unfriendly !
Anyways ... thank you for your responses and I will be much less tense now that I am on my PC
No I know how to tether ... but I have not been bothering even when at home. I have been so stupid til now. I was just emphasizing how much easier it is to communicate with this site from a large computer, monitor and keyboard is all.
Thanks tho
Hi there,
You will receive more help if you ask in this thread:

I would like to modify the theme, adding some buttons etc.
Hope to get help from xda.
Thanks in advanced.
Anybody read this thread?
Oh, nice. I guess this is the biggest forum and people fighting here who response earlier. But this thread won't be seen. Bad Luck........
That's because you didnt do your research. There ware dozens of tools to decompile apks all over the sight. A some search will lead you there.
Keep in mind that this is not a support forum. It's a developers forum. Meaning you have to put your own work in first before anyone will help you.

Guys I have an idea for XDA that will help devs out

Firstly sorry if this is the wrong place to post I wasn't sure where to post this :cyclops:
I recommend that a new section under "Forums" on the navbar is created where developers post their app/game and give and example of what they would like to be tested and then other users can easily navigate XDA to find new apps/games and help out with testing.
I know we can test apps/games on XDA but easier navigation should boost development :good:
Have a great day and lets keep up the great works guys !
There's already an Android apps and games section. That is utterly pointless what you're suggesting. Stop being lazy. " Easier navigation " isn't an issue regarding apps and games, it won't boost anything. If you are actively seeking such development already then you scroll down and click the forum.
