Is there anyone who knows what "param.bin, tz.img" do? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone.
I don't want KNOX, so I want to flash except sboot.bin file.
But I found strange files (param.bin, tz.img) in new 4.4.2 Firmware.
(I don't know the reason because My ICS and 4.1.2 JB firmwares doesn't involve them)
If I flash them, what they will do?
Are they related to bootloader?
Answer me please[emoji1]

Help... new just some question to clarify

hi i got a p5100 device that runs on stock jellybean 4.1.2 and i would just like to know the following
1. Is my bootloader JB since my devices now is updated to 4.1.2 via OTA??
2. Given that my bootloader is not JB do i still need to unlock it to flash custom roms without problems?
3. Does the device region have a significant issue regarding flashing customs roms (omni / cyanogenmod ) ? ... like it might not worth to this specific device though is P5100 but from this region/CSC/PDA etc.. (well samsung does have a couple of devices with different codes )
4. Is there a way to root without using PC?
-- Im not new to rooting and flashing roms, i have done it to my phone which is 2.3.5 GB device not samsung though so i didnt have problems regarding different versions and stuff cause they are all the same....
Hope anyone could help me out i want to flash a custom rom to my tab with less casualties and i want to make sure that i do right to avoid total brick
1. The bootloader should be JB.
2. You do not need to unlock it to flash roms.
3. That should not be a problem, all of the Wi-Fi models are the same, just slightly different software due to region.
4. No, the only way to root it is with a PC. I tried to root it with towelroot and didn't work. Just download cf autoroot and flash it with ODIN.
Edit: If you are looking for a stable Rom, I recommend cyanogenmod. I have been running the nightlies on my tab 2 since December with no issues.

cyanogenmod on s3

hey guys, so im sure many have tried to put cyanogenmod on a VZW Samsung Galaxy s III with 4.4.2 OTA on it. but couldnt. im really looking to put CM11 on it. im very much so new to rooting, and flashing roms, but i already rooted my device, and flashed the stock firmware back, due to not having a CWM back up and getting "system software not authorized by verizon" warning.
so my question.
can i downgrade my firmware from 4.4 to earlier to have an unlocked bootloader without bricking it? do i need to go to 4.3 and then 4.1.2?
because before 4.3 it had an unlocked bootloader.
I really want CM because i cant stand touchwiz anymore. thanks guys . help a newb out
oh and. should i use towel root? or another rooting method
Your now on the locked bootloader and you cannot downgrade to another firmware. You can root with towelroot but that's truly about all you can do
From my CM11 S3

Verify signed Fimware

Hi
noob question, but I guess better safe than sorry
let's say I don't wanna root or modify my device, just want to flash genuine Samsung firmware with ODIN
how can I verify that the package is signed and doesn't include modified stuff that will trip Knox?
for example, I'm downloading firmware from here
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS6/SM-G920F
if (by accident or not) someone uploaded modified package - it would trip knox
md5 check won't help in this case.
any other way to check if it's signed?
or will ODIN prompt me when trying to flash unsigned img?
tried searching for the answer first, but didn't find conclusive answer.
Thanks in advance

Can I flash G920F/I roms to "regional" phones?

I have an phone meant for the Asian territory (G9208) but I can't find any debloated/customized roms for this particular version of the phone.
Are all S6 the same, except for the software & firmware? If so, I'd like to try flashing a G920F/I rom.
I ask here because I don't want to risk bricking it. So, has anyone successfully done this?
Thanks
Did you find any custom Rom for your g9208?, I'm still with 5.1.1 OJ2 with many tries but no effective way to root it.

Are there any answers in rooting Samsung J7 smartphones and the Sm-J727A smartphone with bootloader locked?

I know everyone knows about it, but we nees to figure out how to bypass it. I tried flashing it and it never worked. I also tries using Odin and the firmware file was not the coreect file. I just need some support to find out the answer.
