Hi, new member here! I'm trying to follow the guide by lumin30 [POST #1] Fresh out of box Galaxy S 4G [SOLVED]... The link provided to root, SuperOneClick, does not work. I've searched the internet for a good link but have come up empty. Is there not a current version available now, should I be trying a different root program? Forgive me I am a noob and have never rooted a phone before. Thanks in advance!

Considering I'm completely new to this I dont know what you are asking or if this root/unlock situation will be a bust. From what I gather from this site it seems pretty easy. I know that I am running the stock os on my phone though. Ive downloaded busybox and Samsung Galaxy unlock as well. Are they good apps? Also do I need any drivers? Where do I look in the info you sent me for the link (sorry if it seems like I'm asking dumb questions)

All you have to do my friend is refer to the bible in the dev section.

That's all you need to know. Once you finish reading the bible, you'll be able to do all that stuff blindfolded.
If you have trouble with your drivers you can download Kies Mini off of Samsungs site and Kies will install the right drivers for your phone.

So i have a SGS4G running froyo.vuvkd1 2.2.1 and i have rooted the phone with superoneclick. would i be able to put the valhalla rom on the phone with the cwm or would i have to upgrade with kies mini to GB 2.3.+ and then get rooted again to get cwm and upload rom? please comment back
only reason i ask is because i havent been able to get a clear answer

If you follow the link above you will find it to be the clearest tutorial to accomplish your task. It has all the files you would need except the actual ROM you want.

Have you used search tool to try to find a clear answer?
Click on Samsung Galaxy S 4G above, look for Search This Forum right above the brown bar. That might help you find what you are looking for.

OK, i am on the 3 network and have sent an email to LG regarding updating to 2.3 and they say that it is only available in the UK on the T-mobile network, I want to no if i can manually update to 2.3 that is compatible with the UK and my network. If not is there anyway to unlock my phone to make it compatible?
I have already rooted my phone using Gingerbreak
If i can update is there anywhere where i can get download links and a step by step guide that will work on my phone? i have been through many posts that explain things but i still am not to sure whether they will work with my phone, and if the ROM will work with my phone.
If i could get some advice or if someone could point me in the right direction of a post that will help me i would be most grateful!

great root tool
Hi I used this guide to root my cubot a890:
droidchina.com/forum/Thread-Auto-Root-MTK6589-One-click-root
(you can skip the step of pdanet drivers when you already have working ADB drivers)
make sure you have usb debugging switched on.
unzip the root tool on your pc and open run.bat (run.sh for linux users included)
after that follow the steps and you should have root!
have fun with you're rooted phone!

Can Anyone to upload a backup or specific firmware for 4g rom version?
thanks guys. I used the method for rooting TS4 at geekbuying blog, they are all mtk6589, it seems ok but all of menu the root tool is in Chinese.
this is s*it. and some ads web open on my pc. Hope someone could find other better one.

The backlight of the touch buttons (Back,Home, Settings) is very very very pale if existing at all.
Is there a way to tutn those lights on?
My device has root permissions, so any solution is welcome.

So I've tried using the apk and odex from other forums since there isn't one dedicated to the Pantech P8010. I mistakenly deleted them without backing them up (noob I know) and was wondering where I need to go to find them. Running stock 4.1.2 rooted. Kernel 3.4.0, Let me know if more info is needed and thanks in advance for any help! Also new to forum, read forum rules and don't think this is the wrong place, but let me know if I should have posted elsewhere.
