Hey,
Is there a completely stock ROM for the Moto G with the carrier name in the statusbar + flashable zip? All of the ones available are stock but seem to have no carrier label in statusbar and I can't seem to find one that fits my criteria. Thanks.
Anyone?
Why not just use the stock firmware?? That has the Carrier Label on the status bar. Or use Gravity Box? Should be an option for that.
MoKee ROM has that option, but it's very similar to CyanogenMod.

Yes I could, but I think the stock firmware needs adb which isn't really my strong suit. I prefer the idea of flashable zips. I've tried GravityBox, nice stuff but Carbon ROM has most of that stuff anyway.
I'll try the MoKee ROM next.

It does require ADB yeah, I'm no expert with it either. The guide on restoring the stock firmware on here is pretty easy to follow though. Just a case of downloading a minimal adb zip and extracting it into the firmware folder. There's usually a script file included in the firmware folder that automates all the commands, if not you can just copy and paste.
There's not many roms I haven't tried and personally I think MoKee is the best at the moment. Paranoid Android and SlimKat are also pretty good.

I second you on this, it is a VERY good ROM and probably is the best out there with the carrier label feature - which is what I have been looking for. Thank you for showing me this one.
You're welcome.

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to smartphones. I recently bought a RAZR HD xt926 knowing it was a really good phone but I hadn't dug deep enough to realize the bootloader is not unlockable anymore until after I bought one :crying: . So I've been scrounging around for my options. So far I've gotten Safestrap 3.60 and rooted my phone. I've noticed some mention of flashing CM 10 or 10.1 using SS but every zip I find either fails to flash or wont boot afterwards.
Anyone know where a good and working CM10 zip that would work and/or the best SS compatible rom?
System version: 9.18.79
Android 4.1.2
build number: 9.8.1Q-79
You can't use CM with Safestrap because it tries to flash a different kernel. You need to use ROMs that are stock-based like RageHD, Nexesque, etc.
What are you looking for exactly? Something very close to stock or something with more custom stuff added?

Well I was basing that off of several threads I found like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34592575
Says it is CM 10 that works on Safestrap3 but the file isn't available any more on the download site.
I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. I've looked briefly at Aviator, RageHD, Blurry, Widow, Paragon Maxximus, and a couple others I found. Only found a small handful so far though.
Currently I'm using the stock but added AntTek Quick Toggle, Notification Toggle, Google Keyboard (very similar to CM's minus the blue), and Reboot Menu Widget *ROOT* (as the stock doesn't have Reboot in the power menu). Pretty much just adding stuff to give it more of the features I really enjoyed on my previous phone which has CM10.1.3 on it
Hmm, maybe that version of CM will work then. I never ended up using Safestrap myself so I couldn't say for sure.
Anyway, the link doesn't work right now because goo.im is in the middle of upgrading their servers.
I see. Hopefully I'll be able to get it once they finish and it work out. :good: guess that's the best I can do with this phone. Stock rom doesn't look half bad when using Next launcher 3D combined with the rest of the stuff I mentioned.
Yeah, I agree. Stock isn't bad at all with root. You get great battery life and you can remove all the bloatware anyway.
Yeah, I've yet to remove any bloatware. Probably only adding to the list in a way. The battery life was the main reason I bought this phone as my SII Skyrocket has a terrible battery life. I'd probably have gotten another phone or tried to find a developer or unlocked version if I'd known beforehand about the update, but such is my luck :silly:

You can flash Nexesque on an unlocked phone. That's what I have and encounter no issues, I believe when Adam released it it was specifically for an unlocked phone and safestrap as an alternative

Your question doesn't make sense.

Paranoid Android is not Pure AOSP.

Ouch, I see where I went wrong with that question.
When you download Paranoid Android, you get a .zip file that you can flash to your device.
I'm wanting to create a new ROM off of the stock Hammerhead ROM. How would I get a zip file that contains the files, like paranoid android or cyanogenmod. Hopefully this question is easier to understand.

Oh I see. There's not much that can be edited in a stock ROM easily. As mentioned, compiling from source gives the most customisation.
I believe most stock ROMs are edited in DSI XDA kitchen from a Nandroid backup.

youre not building at all, lol. youre trying to get a base rom then edit it to become a different rom with different features. you cant do that, you need to build it how you want it.
I would just like to mention an amazing rom that i just recently discovered that wasn't in our section It is PurifieD 3.5 rom over in the GT-I9505 section it said that it would only work with twrp/cwm and i was able to get it to boot with safestrap 3.75 after 1 slight change it has the option to look like samsung touch wiz or pure aosp theme and aosp lockscrren and apps stock messaging light or dark theme aosp dialer and contacts, clock, browser and more so i encourage everyone to check it out because it is smooth!

Yup. This ROM was ported by Gogollie. This was built with a TouchWiz kernel, that's why it boots, it isn't real GPE without the GPE kernel. Just themed with some AOSP apps.

actually no 3.5 I have never ported. If its davy's ROM still its probably Stock International Wanam ROM Build with KNOX and other crap cleaned up with options to install AOSP apps by DSA creator of BlackBox another great Hybrid or its 100% TouchWiz with his Domination theme flashed over the top. If you dont know what Domination is in terms of a theme its one of the greatest themes ever made. I miss the option to go white with it sometimes tho. Its themed to look nearly identical to AOSP. Theres other Aroma options to MOD the ROM to act more like AOSP or install AOSP Apps like Calculators, Camera, and stuff. The Aroma installer is pretty nifty and lets you somewhat De-Bloat while installing it.
My newest ROM looks completely different and installs at half the size. Its also a minimal install / beast with speed and battery. I dont know its been posted here but you should be able to use it no problem. with safestrap just flash your modules to get wifi working. and if your at&T you might have to flash an apn patch to replace the apns from /etc directory with your own. or maybe manually entering them would work too. Its nearly all AOSP but yes in order to maintain good data signal, wifi, tethering, usb, etc I had to make a ROM over the TW so the Stock Kernel that most of AT&T/VZW has to run with a locked bootloader would be able to use these features of the phone with no problems. Theres also a "Smoke Weed Everyday"Nate Dogg Audio Clip during shutdown that I accidentally forgot to remove before releasing so if at work or school you might want to delete the file PowerOff.ogg from the /system/media/audio/ui folder you can also replace the file or PowerOn.ogg for startup sound with any mp3 or ogg file just rename it to that file name...

I've ran Purified for a long time on the 4.4.2, it's a TouchWiz-based ROM so it works with Safestrap just fine. It's using the Domination AOSP them package, it's a solid rom and I'm happy to see it's update I'll have to switch back.

I would like to know what was changed as well. Ive tried multiple kernels (stock) and multiple modules, and I cant get wifi to enable on this rom.
I have been running Paranoid Android 5.0.2 and keep having battery life issues. I have trimmed my apps down and even re-enabled the SystemUpdateService for the Google Play Framework which doesn't help. The service also keeps automatically being disabled. Another issue I have is lack of xPrivacy on this version in addition to various OS 'quirks'.
What is the recommended 5.1 ROM for this device that does work with the newer versions of xPosed/xPrivacy?

I use yutokt's converter to convert the latest cyanogenmod nightlies to use on my HTL21 (dlxj).
(Try googling "github yutokt dlxj rom converter" to find it. I'm a new user and can't post links.)
Works brilliantly for me. I'm running the latest CM12.1 nightly from 2016-05-08 on my HTL21 right now.
Runs buttery smooth with very few bugs. Works even better for me than the unofficial CM11 rom by Tako0910 I used to run.

This converter is made for the HTL21, so it may or may not work for the X920D.
Anyway, here's how to use the converter:
Unzip the downloaded converter and run convert.bat on a Windows PC.
Select the Android version of the ROM you want to convert. (Enter 50 for CM12.1 and press enter)
Drag and drop the zip file of the rom you want to convert into the black command window and press enter.
Select whether you want to enable lights/sensors on the converted rom. (Y/N, I always choose Y.)
Select whether you want to enable SD card support. (I always choose Y.)
Select whether you want to add APN's for au-net. (Only necessary if you have an AU sim and want to use au-net. I always choose N.)
Select whether you want to change the device name to HTL21. (This works fine either way. Personally, I usually choose N and leave the device name as Droid DNA.)
Select whether you want to disable the Cyanogenmod Updater. (Definitely choose Y here. If you don't, your phone will try to download and install unconverted Droid DNA roms. Always update by using this converter.)
It will give a final confirmation screen showing the options you chose. Type n if you wish to abort, otherwise press any other key to continue.
The outputted converted rom will have a "c" added to the file name. Try flashing this rom. Clear the dalvik cache, and also flash gapps if you want them.
Though the converter is in Japanese, you will be able to choose English as the system language when you boot the rom, obviously.
Let me know if this works. I'm curious.

The Cyanogenmod 12.1 dailies have been working pretty much perfectly for me after using this coverter. No major bugs I was able to find.
EDIT: I should probably also add that it is normal to get a few errors during the convert process. It will say something like "No default translation for x". It's not an issue. The converted rom will still work fine.

I find that the converted Droid DNA CM 12.1 roms run the smoothest on this phone.
However, if you're interested in going to Marshmallow, you could also try tako0910's Resurrection Remix and CM13.0 roms.

Probably not a good idea, then. This converter is intended for HTL21. If someone wants to be the guinea pig, then it should probably be someone who doesn't use this phone as a daily driver.
I don't know much about rom compatibility between the HTL21 and X920D. All I know is that people used to flash the X920D rom to the HTL21 in order to do the sim free hack back when that was the only known way to do it. Supposedly it would boot.
I use it everyday, so I guess I won't try my luck xP Thanks anyway.

As you probably know, there is no official CM13 for Droid DNA. Only CM12.1.
Did you guys see that Tako0910 just made an unofficial CM14.1 for the HTC J Butterfly?!
I'd love to try it out, but I no longer have a working dlxj.

EDIT: I just read his twitter. He says it is hardly working. DO NOT FLASH.
Might be interesting, anyway, if you don't need the phone as a daily driver.
Maybe he can get it working better in a future update.
Still, it's really interesting that someone tried to port CM14.1 to this phone.
