[Q] Help - General Questions and Answers

I am using android device LG G2 32GB with JB 4.2.2 (D80210b)
I've been disturbed by the noise cancellation feature on the LG G2, especially when doing video recording in a quiet situation, is there anything you can do on the disabled noise cancellation feature in LG g2. I've tried to mod belong Jishnu Sur, but not optimal, there is still a kind of crackle sound annoying. I would be very happy if anyone can help me.

[Q] Are some Mics Better Than Others?

How is your microphone recording level in videos and the sound recorder app?
Average. Not as good as the iPhone 4 but better/as good as the Galaxy S.
Average at best. Voice search absolutely sucks!
Mines crap as well, used it yesterday and had it fairly close to the person speaking but not too close for the sound to be muffled. I think I will try one of the voice recorders from the market as the one supplied records in weird format, 3GP or something.
Is this a general issue with Honeycomb or a specific issue with the Transformer?

Audio Aspect of the Nexus 5

I've been wondering how people's experience of the N5 audio aspect is, speaker wise and headphone wise. Would love to know feedback on this as to site chances in which I could enhance their audio aspects.
If anyone could answer the following queries I have I would gladly appreciate it.
- DSP tunneling (In regards to the 60 hr playback)
- Speakers are Stereo like the N7 2013 or Mono
- Audio codec being used (Preferably in the audio conf file under /system/etc/media_profiles.xml and mixer_paths.xml)
- List all the libs named audio in system/lib/hw
Thanks a million guys
Im pretty sure the audio is mono.

Yup the device output is mono and it's not very good either. The speaker falls weak of everything apart from Bass. It just feels to be lacking. I have used a G2 and the speaker is much louder and clearer, but the speaker on the G2 is only mono too which leads me to wonder whether the Nexus uses the exact same speaker as the G2 but the software on the Nexus limits it's output.
To me audio is quite a big thing, as ridiculous as it sounds I do sometimes play music out of my phone, and I also use YouTube out loud. I have noticed with the Nexus 5 is is sometimes hard to hear notification sounds, especially in the morning when I am on the bus for example. I know it's not just my device there are numerous reports about this around the web and do not confuse this issue with the tinny audio bug, this simply is the speaker quality.
In terms of headphone output, no complaints.

Sorry for the late reply but thanks for your input in this. Very helpful! I'll see what I can do. The idea being the dsp tunneling is what disturbs me the most. I'm tempted to order one to see about it.

Moto G terrible microphone quality

I've noticed that the recording quality of the Moto G is quite bad... you can convince yourself simply listening to any recorded video.
Especially, the problem seems to be releated to the high noise... do you think this is due to hardware limitation or could be fixed with some tweak in future firmwares? I thought that the double microphone was for noise cancelation...
Thank you in advance

The upper microphone is for the noise cancelation of the speaker, not for recording.
Do u guys confirm this issue ?

[Q] The AT&T G2 sound quality with additional mic

The AT&T G2 has an additional hole (microphone) where other G2 variants didn't have. Do AT&T G2 has better sound quality?
If I install custom ROM, does the additional microphone still function?

Snapchat/video sound quality on custom ROMs

I've used both CM13 and MoKee ROM on the US unlocked A9 and the performance smoothness is excellent on both (better than sense based roms actually). However I've noticed that on both ROMs the sound quality from a recorded video sounds a bit staticky and just isn't crystal clear like on Sense. I'm a heavy snapchat and video recorder and I really wanna use a custom ROM because the performance is just so much better, but I end up going back to Sense every time because I just can't tolerate the poor sound quality. The issue has nothing to do with the speaker because other videos I watch sound fine, which leads me to believe that the issue is with the microphone... So my question is does anyone have any idea how to tweak the microphone settings in the system to get the microphone to record sound as crystal clear as on Sense. I've been trying to solve this issue myself with no avail and I would appreciate any help I could possibly get at this point. Thank you in advance...

Unfortunately that didn't solve anything. The issue is the microphone recording not the sound playback.
