Without more information about your device, the software you are using for flashing and the stock rom you want to flash ... my first guess is that it is maybe a corrupt/bad download.
So re-download the rom file and compare the md5sum of the downloaded file with the one posted on the download page (if available).
If this can not help, please provide more information for further help.
EDIT: Here is a nice guide about md5sum and how to check it.
My tapatalk signature:
Phone: SGS5 (SM-G900F)
ROM: AllianceROM v4
Kernel: CF-Auto-Rooted stock G900FXXU1ANE2
Recovery: PhilZ-touch

Sorry, but I have to repeat myself:
Please provide more information for further help.
Without more information about your device, the software you are using for flashing and the stock rom you want to flash, I can't help.
I can guess that you have to extract the rar file to get the file(s) you need for flashing ... but I want to help ... not guess.
Thanks for understanding.

Does anyone know where I can download the stock ROM for the phone mentioned in the tittle? I failed to create an image of my device before I started toying around with it.
If any of you have recently acquired this unit kindly post the Stock ROM for it here. Or better yet. if any of you can post a custom ROM for this device then that would be fantastic.

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, running stock ROM on JB (4.1.2) and wanting to update to C-ROM KitKat but need to install PhilZ Touch but can't, I downloaded the required .zip and tried to flash from stock recovery but it failed, also tried it from Odin3 using the tar.md5 and that one began to work then failed after trying to write the files.
Any ideas or pointers on what I can do? Thanks

Hello,
You need to choose the arm platform for your device and Version 5.1 since you are running lollipop firmware.
Also please check the package comparison in the thread I linked above, and choose the package accordingly.
