It seems to be fairly well known so you may already be aware of this and I misunderstood what your situation is, but NotifyClean solved a few of my headaches with apps for which selecting "do not display notifications" in the app info settings wasn't a good option...

I know it saved me from pulling what's left of my hair out over the notification of my stupid nonexistent "3 Voice-mail Messages" that's followed me from my previous phone and no amount of calls to Sprint Support has been able to eliminate.
Really has gained some additional clever and comprehensive features with a few of the most recent updates, as well.

Relentless WiFi Notifications

Is there any known way to disable the CONSTANT notifications indicating that "WiFi Networks Are Available" or "You are Connected to [network name]"? These notifications are completely useless, because when are there ever not WiFi networks available? I also don't need a notification that I've connected to a trusted network... there is a WiFi icon for that exact purpose. Driving me nuts!
I just switched to the M8 after having a Galaxy Nexus running AOSP. On the Gnex, you could easily disable these notifications in the Advanced menu under WiFi settings. Did Verizon remove this ability for some reason?
they removed it a while back to encourage people to use wifi instead of 3/4g. As soon as we get s-off customs roms will start pouring in and they will definitely have the notification of.
btw, i'm thinking of moving from my gnex to the m8, what are your thoughts on the comparison? are you happy with the m8?

Well, this notification is "encouraging" me to just turn off WiFi altogether and just use my unlimited data plan full-time!
So far I like the M8. Sense interface definitely has a learning curve, but it does have a few nice added features like motion gestures. The M8 is lightning fast compared to the GNex!

I found it and switched it to 0 and I'm still getting the notification after saving it and a reboot... I think it may be because of the temp-root method we have or else it's just not the correct setting? Oh well, it was worth a shot! Thanks!

hmm.... there might be another setting somewhere else...
i don't think it has anything to do with the temp root. as long as the value gets changed it shouldn't matter how you were able to change it...
anyways, i'd keep poking around the settings to see if anything looks interesting.

Very true... Root method should not matter cause it's just required to edit the field. I'll mess around a little too and post back with any findings.
Thanks for the tip. I also found the setting in the "Global" section of the db. The changed setting survived after the reboot, but unfortunately it didn't disable the notifications.
I'm getting this too on the Verizon M8 - I just switched from a Galaxy S4, but I'm seriously considering returning the phone for this issue. Is there really no way to disable this without actually rooting or running a custom ROM? I cannot believe that I have to hit the clear button a dozen times a day to get rid of that annoying notification or turn off Wifi altogether. I also have the T-mobile OG One and never had this issue.

I could turn it off in my Verizon GS4 - guess I will have to check on it in the GS5 before considering switching out again. I'm just going to turn off WiFi all the time in the meantime.

It isn't going to work until we have a true root method. We don't have R/W access to anything but /system/xbin any changes you make aren't going to stick. Nothing can be written to any system files. Same reason we can't edit our build.prop or debloat our devices. Don't fret though, I am sure we will have a true root method available soon along with S-OFF.

What setting are you talking about? If you're talking about one to hide the notification in the Notification screen, I don't see any setting to disable that.
Let's be clear about what is there and not there - In the "advanced" menu in Wifi on the Verizon M8, there is a setting to uncheck called "notify me - when launching apps, notify me when WiFi is available" - that box is unchecked, but I still get the icon and message in the notification bar whenever I have Wifi on, but am not connected to one of my saved networks. It only prevents the notification from launching when opening apps.
However, on my M7, the setting is "Notify me when an open network is available" - on the M7 (t-mobile), when that box is unchecked, I never get a "wifi networks are available" when wifi is on (let's be honest, in LA or most major cities every square inch of the city has wifi networks available).
I don't have my Verizon GS4 handy but am pretty sure the menu option was to uncheck "notify me when wifi networks are available" because I never got those notifications.
Has anyone figured this out yet, especially since we are S-OFF now? I turned off anything that seemed like it might turn off the "Connected to" notification in either the secure or global tables but I still get it

+1 - this is what i did, simple to use. once it pops up, open the app, choose android system, and click on the wifi one to activate the disabling. reboot and you dont see it anymore.

"Set as priority" missing in App Notifications

I noticed on a forum posting a feature that appears to be missing from my phone. The "Set as priority" is not available as shown in the image I obtained from the net. I also included a screenshot from my phone that shows it missing. Does anyone also have it missing as well? If so, I wonder if it's carrier specific?
It could be from a US version, to a Non US Version. I have ATT us, and I have the priority option.

That's very possible. Does anyone in Canada have the setting or is it like mine? I'm with Bell Mobility.
I just want to add that I can set application as priority as outlined in the screenshots. Does everyone have the same type of settings?
Can anyone in Canada confirm that they do or do not have the "Set as priority" in the App Notifications screen?
Bumping up this thread. I'm just hoping for a confirmation that I am not the only one.

Yea I have an s9 and I have no option to set priority notifications. I did on my s7 but not my s9. Its really annoying because I cant get my gmail to keep notifications. I have tried everything I can fine. Set all notification settings. Settings in battery optimizations and gmail still doesnt keep notifications. Like my phone still keeps putting it to sleep or something

What happened to Advanced Messaging?!?!

US Unlocked S8+ on T Mobile
all the advanced messages features are gone! Can't send high quality MMS, theres no "typing" indicator. Nothing.
the "chat settings" menu option is also gone from the messaging app completely.
we also have an S8, same problem.
When/why did this happen? Is there a solution?

I found a spelling error in Samsungs XML file from the August update that I think caused all this. I'm going to ask for a second opinion in the dev section.
Pretty sure the unlocked firmware doesn't have advanced messaging

Do have more info?
I'm also experiencing this issue on my s8. There is no chat settings option in the messages app settings. Is there any other way to change the image quality of picture messages i send? At the moment the quality is so poor you can't even see the picture properly.

Notifications issue?

Hi there
I have a question for the international users of the Magic 2. I have not yet owned a Honor device but had several Huawei Mate devices in the past. The ones which I had from China always had the issue with delayed/not syncing notifications, for example Whatsapp etc. It only got better with the international firmware on it.
Does the Magic 2 also have this issue, seeing it only comes with Chinese Firmware?
Thanks very much!
I have the HM2 and I haven't experienced any issues with notifications, using Whatsapp, Telegram or whatever.

I have had a different experience unfortunately. Some apps only seem to sync and receive new notifications when I open them.
I've tried adding the problematic apps to "unrestricted data access" (despite it saying this should not effect notifications) to no avail.
Hope someone else has a solution!

That's exactly what I was afraid of, I also know this from my previous Huawei Mates.. well I have placed the order now already for it.. so I guess I will have to see.
Go to settings->apps->apps->WhatsApp(for example)->power usage details->app launch.
Change to manual and enable all. I think you can then switch it back to automatic.

These problems usually originate with power consumption settings and launch settings, if you let it run in the background and launch itself, it should work perfectly.
In any way I use Whatsapp regularly and it seems working fine with the default settings I had when installed.

And this
Most people that are having issues with notifications are totally unaware of the the aggressive battery saver on Huawei devices. You need to manually allow apps to run in the background and not be killed by the battery saver. Unfortunately the settings are but hidden and some time there are more than one option to were to do so.

Am I the only one with notifications issues?

Since I've had my phone, some notifications just don't come through no matter what I do. WhatsApp will not work unless I wake up my screen and my calender reminders never work unless I happen to be on my phone.
All permissions granted, battery optimization turned off, auto start enabled and no restrictions on these apps. Quite annoying.
Does anyone know how to sort this?
LOL this has to be the funniest post I've ever seen here. Like 25% of posts and comments on mi 10 ultra forums are about notification issues bud. Did you even attempt to search?

Are you on stock Chinese by any chance? Switch to the EU ROM, this will resolve your issue easier than it is to explain every setting needed for some notifications to fully work. Took me ages but I did do it. Then I went EU, no issues, worked straight away.

It is very strange, because WhatsApp is one of the apps whose notifications seems to be reliable.
Gmail is one that I am not 100% sure about. But I feel it is somehow related to the way gmail handle its notification, since I experience similar behaviour on other phones.
Teams and Outlook are 100% notifications rate for me.
Possibly I have set something else in MIUI settings, I have to check everything.
