I recently flashed CandyKat to play around with something different and decided to restore a backup of a stock deodexed Radavs Rom. After restoring I no longer have the AT&T 4G LTE icon. It is now an international 4G icon. I reflashed the Rom over top of the restore, but it had no effect. Is there a way to change the icon with the framework? If it matters I updated TWRP to 2.7.0.1 to flash CandyKat.
Did you ever actually have the at&t icon? The ROM by Radavs is a Telstra ROM so it uses the global standard icons.

I've always had the AT&T icon. Even when I flashed the Rom originally I still kept AT&T icons. It jumped out at me as soon as I restored the Rom. I'm going to flash back to the older twrp and then restore to see if it reverts back.

That confirms something I read a while back. All icon sets are included in the ROMs, and then the appropriate sets are displayed depending on your locality or carrier. I'm not sure that changing recovery will work but it's worth a try.

went back to 2.6.3, but to no avail. How is it possible to do a backup and then restore the backup, but somehow get a different set of data icons? Wouldn't know where I could flash a zip to get the ATT icons back would you? I really hate the look of the international icons.
I'm not sure exactly what the trigger is for which icons are being used, but it seems as if that trigger isn't working for you. It would seem logical that you should have the same icons as when you made your backup, but if they're taken care of on an at-boot basis that wouldn't be the case. In theory you could flash a ROM in Australia, turn it off, fly to America, boot it up, and have different icons. This is only speculation of course. As far as getting them back goes, I'm not sure, sorry.

Last question due to my OCD. I have S-Off, Unlocked Bootloader and SCID, can I run one of the latest ATT JB RUUs without needing to do anything beforehand and then reinstall TWRP and gain root access? I wouldn't mind reverting back to maybe give the phone a scrub, but I like having root access for some of the apps I use.
Yes you can run any Evita RUU, and you don't need to do anything first. Afterwards it's as simple as flashing TWRP again, and superuser or SuperSU for root.

My One X restarts when I'm in the Google Play app and while using the built in browser. It seems to be data related... Also I get no error or anything of that nature, it just freezes (stops responding to any input whatsoever the capacitive buttons don't respond either) and it just restarts and goes through the HTC and AT&T load screens. Any ideas as to why my phone keeps restarting after a bit of use on the market, browser, etc... I've sent in my original phone thinking it might've been defective. Turns out the one they sent me did the same thing. Mind you they sent me a refurbished one. So I don't know if its a problem isolated to the original shipments of HOX's since I got mine via a pre-order and this is probably the same batch since the AT&T rep said they had no new devices to ship to me as a replacement.
Any ideas?
I've gone through a few HOXs and have never had a single reboot on any of them. My suggestion to you would be to wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik) and reflash your ROM.

How exactly would I go about doing that. I used the clockwork recovery mod on my Aria back when I had that. But from what I understand the HOX doesn't have that yet and attempting to use ROM Manager or anything that uses it would brick my phone.
We have clockwork mod and TWRP recoveries. I take it you are on a stock ROM then? Are you rooted?
Oh, and never use ROM Manager. Ever.

Yeah I'm rooted (on the stock ROM) and I managed to get my bootloader unlocked.
I take it you haven't flashed any mods right? I'd get clockworkmod flashed on your phone and then wipe and flash CleanROM SE. It's very close to stock, perfectly stable (I haven't had a single force close except for one youtube one a long while back right after flashing), and it has some great mods and tweaks. If you are still having reboots, then I would RUU back to stock, see if they are still there and if they are, get it replaced.

Radio
If your issues were mostly data related its probably a radio issue. Be sure to flash a new radio. If I'm not mistaken most roms don't include the radio. I like the latest AT&T as well as 1.88. Much better than 1.73 or 1.85. you can flash it just like a rom if it's in zip format. There's a thread in development with radio In the title. Normally first page.

I had this exact problem. EXACT. Does it happen on WiFi only? try turning it off.
EDIT: this happened to me on two different HOXs, one just after i updated to 1.82, and the other, stock from the store on 1.85. I was able to narrow it down to the fact that our home wifi was unprotected with a hidden SSID. as soon as we changed it to WPA it worked fine, and continues to.
I just got TWRP installed with the awesome help of gunnyman and now i'm on to my next step on my way to a custom rom. Which (correct me if i'm wrong) is making a backup.
TWRP is very user friendly..but not enough for me sadly. When I'm making a backup there are several check boxes of what to backup and I'm not sure which ones should be checked. Could anyone help me with that?
Also the backup will be stored on my sd card, which on the one x is internal..so its safe or what? Should I put on on dropbox just in case? Is there any reason after loading a custom rom that my backup would no longer be available or not work?
Are there any other steps between the backup and installing the custom rom.
annnddd one last question. This part of the cleanrom post scares me.. can someone explain what it means? Will this leave my phone unable to connect to 4g?
Special GSM Patch:
Removes the AT&T 4G Icon and reverts to standard GSM "H" Icon.
Unlocks the Hotspot in its entirety so ALLLLLLL people can use it regardless of carrier!
Wait for it... Unlocks the magical LTE Toggle capability. Does not work on AT&T but does work on all other carriers AFAIK.
This patch CAN be applied to ATT if you want. It wont hurt anything that I know of. I was also told that if you manually program APN's that you can toggle the LTE toggle on ATT. I gave up on testing this but it did work a couple times for me but I could not get it consistent. If you can help the community figure it out for ATT then lets do it!

Just use all the default options at first. Don't worry about what boxes are checked and all that. Go in and do a backup. Go back out and do a wipe I think on twrp its called factory reset, data and cache. Then wipe dalvik cache. Then rinse and repeat just for the heck of it. Then go and install the rom and reboot. Set things up and let things ssettle in. Then if you want go flash any mods such as battery percent and wifi tether. don't bother with the GSM patch just yet. You probably won't need or want it anyways.
Your backup should be fine on the phone but I always copy NY first to my PC. Dropbox would take too long for me. It's about a gig. I actually erase all my backups off the device once I realise I don't need it.

Also the Nandroid backups are too big to upload to Dropbox. I've tried.
The GSM patch just changes your icons for data (ie LTE, H+, 3G, etc).

i tried this......still having the same issue, switched from CM10 back to stock and had issues with my GPS being way off, like by 3300 meters off haha.....so flashed back to stock, still had the issue, so i used the rooted stock image and flashed that and i'm still off by about over 2k meters.....don't use my navigation or maps all that much but when i do need it i'll have a bit of an issue lol
I had issues with my gps for a few days. If was real flaky but got better with synergy 1.5. I have since move to 1.6 with a fresh install and am still okay. Check out a app called gps status. See if you can see any gps satellites. Maybe in that app clear your agps state in tools. Then if that doesn't work try to download gps assistance with the same app in the same settings. Make sure your out side for this stuff with your gps. It's probably not gonna hit ya sitting on the couch.

New AOKP JB issue with radio
Well I am trying to get something fixed and I am going through a complete restore to do this.
But just so you are aware the new AOKP JB release will kill your data. I learned a hard lesson with this when trying to recover and nandroid back to my previous rom. It killed my data completely and would not allow me to do anything with data in any rom. I used the root66 stock rom in hopes it would work, and that didnt even solve the issue.
Right now I am restoring a factory image through kies and seeing if that will do what I need. If it does, I am sticking with stock roms for awhile until AOSP roms have more time to develope with less bugs.

Once I did that my phone rebooted and everything came back as it was never gone, well except for all of my data on the internal sd card, but that is to be expected.
After 2 hours of going through numerous steps I finally found a fix, mind you not the most simple of fixes, but a fix none the less.
I think I am just going to stay stock for awhile like I mentioned and wait for the OTA that comes out in 2014 lol, unless in review of AOSP roms the issues present now are gone after sometime.

Gps works like a champ on beans!
Gps seems to work substantially better on cm10 than on stock....ran the GPS test and i locked onto 14/19 satellites.
Beamed via NFC through the local store to the internet from my SGS3.
My phone has root using MotoChopper but I am still using the stock ROM. I really don't want to go through the effort of custom ROM.
The nice thing about the Galaxy S3 was the Kies software that backed up everything important. Is there something like that for Motorola? I have an SD car installed with plenty of space.
Is there something in the Motorola recovery menu that would allow me to perform a backup, or an app? I have titanium backup installed by the way.
Search for recoveries
As you know TB doesn't do a full backup. But as long as you are rooted there are options open to you other than getting another rom installed to do a full Nandroid Backup. Do a search for "Recoveries". I have preferred CWM http://www.clockworkmod.com/ with my past phones but there are a few more you may want to peruse before flashing one.
The great thing about recoveries is that you can Nandroid backup your current rom before flashing a new one. And if you don't like the new one, or it has issues you don't like, just use the recovery to flash back.
I hope this helps you in some way.

I've used CWM with previous Android phones. Yes I liked it. A few follow ups ....
1. If all I care about was retoring apps and their settings to the Stock Moto ROM -- could I trust TB for that purpose?
2. Supposing I had the bootloader unlocked -- could I install CWM and just keep the ROM that I have or would I be forced to install a custom ROM?

Having root and or an unlocked boot loader (As phones used to come with) does not mean you have to use any other rom. I plan on keeping the stock rom on my phone as I like it over the present roms.
Remember, you will never be forced to use any rom. With the unlocked boot loader you can use any you choose including stock.
---Edit---
CWM does not yet have a stock recovery for the XT926, give it time and they will. You did not state your exact phone version but I would guess it is the 925/926.
As I just rooted my self I am also looking for a recovery to do a Nandroid backup.

Nope, that JUST allows root access. To unlock the boot loader you need a tad more. Search this forum for droid razr HD utility by Mattlgroff. It has every thing you need to root (And that can be undone) and unlock the boot loader (THIS CAN NOT be undone). Linky
--FYI--
I do not recommend flashing the 4.1.2, but as I said if you are unlocked you can do what ever you want. Being just rooted (Or even not rooted) you can flash 4.0.4 and 4.1.1, when you flash to 4.1.2 you can NOT go back to 4.0.4 or 4.1.1 with out an unlocked boot loader.
And the droid razr HD utility has the CWM custom recovery included!
Bonus!
Any more questions that I can answer before I go to sleep tonight?
Thanks for everything you did -- you deserve sleep. I already had 4.1.2 when i ran MotoChopper. I don't plan on going back or doing a custom recovery or custom ROM. I know I am not using the droid to its full potential however -- i'm just thankful to end the 2 months of banging my head against a wall. As I mentioned on another thread I bought the iPhone 5 on verizon 4 times and returned it all 4 times. I bought the S3 for Verizon once and returned it. 3 of the iPhones and the S3 had chronic wifi issues. I was beginning to think it was me. It was not. With no other variables in my work flow changing -- the Razr HD had none of these problems. I'm sure the M and the Maxx HD would have been fine also. However, I wanted something slightly better than the M and I would have had a hard time squeezing the Maxx HD with a case into my shirt pockets.

I think I should have screwed this one up -- and should have done the custom recovery to make a FULL backup. I backed up all my apps using TB. did a complete wipe -- not just a system reset from Settings but -- a motorola AP fastboot style wipe -- with the stock 4.1.2. I re-rooted. Then logged in to Play installed TB.
I think the problem i created occurred when I tried to reinstall system stuff -- not just user apps. I have stock recovery, root at this point. After restarting once i restored those apps and their data I am perpetually stuck on the Droid eye.

This is my first post and I'm not sure where to put it but I hope this is right.
I'm kinda new to flashing ROMs and was trying to flash one using safestrap on my GS3. I couldn't find one that worked and went back to my stock ROM. In the stock ROM cell service completely died and wouldn't work, to combat this problem I removed all ROMs, ROM slots, and wiped the stock ROM cache. Nothing. So then I restored to my nandroid backup I made yesterday and that deleted my OS. Now when I boot it just gets stuck at the second Samsung boot logo (there the first one that just says "Samsung" and "unlocked", then the second on says "Galaxy SIII" or something) now I have no OS and I'm not sure how to fix this, can I get some help please?
Okay, I got the stock firmware installed but I still have no service anywhere. Any ideas?

First thing I would do is make sure your imei is still present in the about phone section. If it is, move on to the next step.
I would go completely back to stock, Odin flash either the stock 4.3 or 4.4 image depending on which you were on. If you're unsure, post what it says in download mode.
If you do that and you still have no service, then go to verizon and get a new sim card. Flashing a new modem wouldn't fix this situation.
