hi guys, i bought an acer liquid E but after 3 days my motherboad has passed away... Acer assistance send me back an Acer Stream, now i want to play with my acer and android, but i don't find nothing for acer stream... i want know why? i want at least froyo.. sorry for my english, but i'm italian and now i finished watching Buried good night boyz
P.S.I'm ready to try if it helps someone or at least tell me where to start if I want to try to do something .. I do not know maybe a base from which ... I think the ROM of the liquid E and that for stream are very similar...

I am also an Acer Stream owner and i am afraid this is another bad buy, great hardware but zero community around it. I am afraid we are stuck at 2.2, Acer is not giving us any more updates but is supporting the "cheaper" Liquid E. This sucks.

there is some good news for us acer stream users! the bootloader has been unlocked (google it). If only some people could make some good roms now (perhaps with android 2.3).
there already is one custom rom, but it is still android 2.2
Excellent news! Too bad most info is in Russian. Chances of 2.3 or even 4 in Acer Stream have increased! I am hopeful!
A friend just bought a tablet here in China preloaded with Android 2.1. Its setup to be used in China, which has given me problems in the past on my Android phone. Is there anyway to go about updating it to the new version of Android and maybe even getting rid of the Chinese app store and adding flash support (right now it says the device doesn't support it, even though it looks like it meets requirements)? You guys have been helpful in the past so thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm currently thinking about buying a new tablet (I've already tried the first galaxy tab and the transformer) and I found a nice deal (in France) for the Xoom 2 Media Edition.
Would you recommend the media edition for 265$ (in fact it's 265€ but since 1$=1€ for all the manufacturers...) ? I mean I know the xoom 2 is not a big improvement upon the first version but do you think this is a good deal ?
Also it doesn't seem that the community is interested in the xoom 2. I fear that there won't be any custom rom or any other work done on this table. Am I correct ?

The problem is that it doesn't appear to be unlockable and rootable at this time, so no development. If you don't care about that, go for it. If you want to tinker and customize, get an original Xoom. ICS (Android 4.0.3) builds are already here! Awesome!
Hey so I have this spare Acer Liquid MT phone lying around, the phone lags like heck, it's still on android 2.3 something....(all is its very old and havent been charged for awhile). I was wondering if anyone here has any links to rooting and installing a newer version of android onto this phone. I've been using Iphone a lot so I don't know any technical terms for android or in fact much about android. Hope you guys and give me some links and mods that will go well with this phone =] I wanna experience android first before actually buying another android phone! Thx!!

I've just bought myself a Xoom 2 UK wifi tablet. I got it to replace my HP Touchpad which has given me great service over the past two years in its Android incarnation. However, after updating it from its original GB to ICS, I've noticed that a fair few of my daily used apps are missing from the play store. So its fairly important that I root the Xoom. I've seen that there are a multitude of different versions which seem to differ markedly from each other in terms of rooting and upgrading so I'd like some help in knowing if there are any one button solutions to it and the best/safest way to get root. Thanks in advance.
