@ Safariking do you have plans to update this rom with root some mods and may be customization
Edit: tomorrow I'll try and root it and see if I can replace or port over some apps from the Note 3 and other stuff.

Love the ROM. Thanks for the hard work.
Just a quick question to anyone trying this rom, how do you root it? In general I think the rom is great but I am having problems rooting it.
Thanks for the advice and help.

Somehow it seems that this rom has some issues trying to use TWRP recovery. When I switched to Philz, I had no problems other than the 1 time WLAN crash and reboot of WLAN. After that, everything went well (including root)

I'll be happy to test build 2. build1 seems very stable in its functionality but it does have some small issues like when you try to root and install the super user. it tells you to update the superuser su binary, but when it tries to, it fails.
but other than having rooting issues, the Rom seems very stable. well at least what I could test in one day.
keep up the good work. I look forward to permanently upgrading to KitKat soon.

Try to find and download the file: UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip from this forum. Put it in the external SD card together with the ROM downloadd from this thread. I used TWRP 2.7.1 recovery without any issue. After wiping data/factory reset, install the ROM, then without booting the SuperSU file mentioned above, then boot into system and the tab will be rooted,

Im not an experienced tester, but I did find something that I find annoying.
Every time I reboot. I get the message that I mounted an SD card and when I try to download a file from the Webbrowser or for example Dropbox, the I don't have the ability to navigate and download the file into the SD card. It only gives me directory options for the internal card.
Another bug I found is that when I try to change the system fonts in the Display setting, the Settings menu crashes and the other fonts options are not displayed

Build 2 is up
Happy flashing
see changelog in OP for changes

Yeah I had the exact same issues with SuperSu, in the end I used this http://download.clockworkmod.com/superuser/superuser.zip via TWRP.
Applied the External SD Card write fix for apps.
On another note, I've found TitaniumBackup runs slower & is a little buggy on 4.4.2 than on 4.2.2, & when I did a batch restore of all data to apps, it ran very slow & eventually produced a frozen black screen, needed to reboot then I was hit by a "System UIDs Inconsistent" popup.
Decided to run a data to app restore individually the next time after I set up again, seemed safer.

Finally got SuperSU working, I flashed the http://download.chainfire.eu/450/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip via TWRP, rebooted & then went into the app, it'll say something about disabling KNOX, say yes, now when it give's two options of updating the binary select the TWRP/CWM option instead of Normal, it'll reboot into Recovery to do it's thing, now when you reboot the system, SuperSU should work as normal.
TitaniumBackup also seems to play nicer with SuperSU on 4.4.2, I now have no constant superuser permission notifications like I had with Koush's Superuser app when batch restoring, plus batch restore is a lot faster/smoother now too because of that.

Since the stock rom doesn't have enough credit on this forum I'm submitting something I just did for myself in case anyone may find this useful - plus I'm adding some small customizations to get the stock better and more complete (starting with AOSP Browser and Flash Player support).
# WARNING #
flash at your own risk and get yourself ready with a backup or at least another working flashable rom into the device. I'm not responsible about you not paying attention to this rule.
ODEXED stock ROM KOT49H
download - MD5 92FCFE8E1E165E25F192D52CFF896B54
DEODEXED stock ROM KOT49H
download not available at the moment because I want to make a full deodexed version, including the /priv-app folder and an API level 19 deodexer is needed - COMING SOON
4.23 bootloader is mandatory for this to work (also I suggest to make a FULL WIPE if you come from anything different from stock) - MD5 C40832B03800D929CBD45974F41EFB1E.
Both versions have been zipaligned, rooted with SuperSU (you need to flash latest version to make it properly work on 4.4.x, get the package here http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu) and include busybox and init.d support.
Stock 3.1.10-g4776c68 KERNEL, CWM flashable
download in case you want to revert back on the stock kernel after messing up around - MD5 BA31CF10D99053A895740F5F98CF8404
Missing system apps, CWM flashable
download to remove /system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk-odex and get back News and Meteo, Browser and Chrome Bookmarks Sync (for this 4.3 version is included because google is not providing an updated version anymore). These are deodexed apps (works on an ODEXED rom, don't worry) - to get the .odex files you can then flash this one (this is device specific).
NOTE that these apps are kind of deprecated (and probably Gallery and Launcher will also be added soon to the list) and are no longer being updated by Google in the factory releases. I'll do all I can to keep the versions updated.
Adobe Flash Player
Flash player is NO LONGER SUPPORTED in Android 4.4 Kitkat (not officially using Adobe app, you probably need a Browser with flash included).
# DISCLAIMER #
All archives and apps are tested by myself on my grouper (Nexus 7 Wi-Fi only) - remember to clean Cache / Dalvik Cache from recovery AFTER applying any of the zips (especially for the ROM - Full Wipe needed if coming from a non-stock ROM, obviously) - and please check MD5 (where stated) before flashing... you are warned.
Have fun (have KitKat)!
I'll try to keep the thread and OP updated as I can.
# EXTERNAL MODS #
I do not take credit for these, it's just a collection of mods "clean and close to stock" that I use on my device and you may wanna try - everything here is tested anyway (pay attention and check if this mods are suitable for my current release)
Bluetooth Low Energy support libs
Bootloader 4.23 needed for 4.4.x
LeanKernel (clean and stable kernel close to stock and updated to latest Linux kernel)

Hello Everyone!
I installed CM11 Kitkat on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus. I didn't wanted to activate the Developer's option in settings for next 5 days (Because I don't want my friends mess around). But I wanted to switch over to ART. So I had such idea that I can do this from recovery.
But I also had idea, due to my previous work with Aroma Installer, that I can create a single zip that can revert back to Dalvik also.
I found that after Factory Restore runtime is set to Dalvik again.
So I concluded that it is stored in /data
After messing around with the /data partition, I found where selected runtime is saved.
I created such a zip and I am sharing with you.
Meanwhile, when I was writing this thread, similar thread suggest showed me another tool of XDA Senior Member husen4u.
However his tool has 2 different files required to be flashed.
I did not copy his work, but runtime change code is same for all Android 4.4+, however I still give him credits, because he created similar project first.
So I present you my new tool :- Switch D2A_RT
So general idea is this tool can change ART <------> Dalvik from single zip.

Instructions:-
0. You need a Android 4.4+ ROM.
1. Download and put the zip file in any storage.
2. Go to recovery (use any recovery, I used CWM Touch 6.0.3.6).
3. Flash the zip file and navigate through Aroma Menu.
4. Choose ART or Dalvik and Reboot.
5. Rebooting can take lot of time (depending on number of apps). CyanogenMod 11 users can see "Android is upgrading" screen.
ENJOY!!!
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT FAQ if you have any questions/doubts or this software is not working.
Few common problems like incompatibility and XPOSED are mentioned there.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):-
Phone bootlooping after changing runtime to ART?
=> Change runtime to Dalvik back again. Your phone (may) not be compatible.
Apps crash with ART as runtime?
=> That is not my fault. ART is in primary stage and many apps do not support ART. Switch back to Dalvik to use such apps.
Status 0 Error while flashing the zip?
=> Relax. Take update-binary of ROM of your device. Rename it to "update-binary-installer" and use it to replace its counterpart from zip.
Runtime is not changing to ART?
=> 1) Uninstall Xposed Framework, Reboot. Then try again. Xposed and ART don't work simultaneously.
Or_2) Check if "libart.so" and "libart-compiler.so" are in /system/lib. If they don't exits, ROM is not compatible with ART.
Or_3) Open "/data/property/persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib" with text editor and find what is runtime.
You stole XYZ's (XYZ is example person's name) work.
=> I sincerely tell you, I didn't do that. I discovered this on my own after scanning all files in /data.

I tested this on my SGS+ GT-I9001 with CM11. Both functions work. However there might be some minor GUI/icon/picture size errors.

SO say if the option to switch to ART is not shown in the developer options (d801 LG G2) could this still be used? Or are OEM's able to fully remove ART instead of disabling the option?

Have you noticed any performance differences since you switched to ART? I've been curious about this new runtime for a little while, and I actually tried to switch it in my Gummy 4.4.2 ROM on my Note II i605. There is an option within the ROM to choose between Davlik and ART, but it apparently doesn't do anything because every time I check it, it's back to Davlik. I'm going to download and test this! Nice man.. I had this idea floating around in my head for a while, even posted it to google devs.. I was to get them to run at the same time art first then delvik after the initial launch swith after the at
rt has optimized the apps then over to delvik to keep any lagging scripts from slowing load times between app lauches..
Good
Works fine on my old GT 5100 (Galaxy Tab 2 10.1) running Android-Andi's latest Unofficial Cyanogenmod 11 ROM backed by Dhollmen Kernel

This can be used without enabling Developer Options.
But compatibility of ART Depends on your ROM buddy. Please read the FAQ. There are 2 files mentioned.
If OEM removed "libart.so" and "libart-compiler", then ART is fully disabled.

ART is feature of Android 4.4.x. It doesn't matter wheather it is stock or custom ROM.
It should work. Do you have "libart.so" & "libart-compiler.so" in /system/lib? If they are there, that is not removed by OEM,
Then it must work.

It takes half or max 1 second. Your Samsung Stock ROM may not be compatible with ART.
Sent from my GT-I9001 Gadget of Mass Destruction with CM11 using XDA Developers App.
Doesn't work on Xperia Z1 4.4.2 rooted stock. libart.so, libart-compiler.so are available.
Phone boot loops after ART is enabled. Restores safely when switched back to dalvik.
@op do you know why?

[ROOT]TWRP Coordinator(BETA)

Samer Diab And Helicopter88 Present TWRP CoordinatorDescription :
This application handles some key recovery features using ORS(Open Recovery Script),
Features :
*Install Latest TWRP Recovery
*Stores Backup Choices In Preferences
*Update TWRP
*Reboot to recovery
*Flash Multiple zips From SDCARD
*Create new backups
*Rename backups
*Delete backups
*Restore backups
*Wipe Data
*Factory Reset
*Wipe specific partitions

You can make secure the app with a password, or hide it from launcher to launch it using the dialer(dial *#8977#).
Last but not least,this app is adfree, has a polished look, is easy to use, contains a cool widget for flashaholics that will allow you to reboot , hotreboot, reboot to recovery and power off.
When you are restoring backup , the app will give you a choice of which partition to restore based on the ones backed up .
The app will not work without root access, and the app will not work without TWRP Recovery installed,
On launch the app it will check whether TWRP is installed on your device and then continue , if TWRP is not installed you will be prompted to install it.
If your device does not have official TWRP support , you can still use this app, you just need to manually install TWRP recovery and launch the app.
You can send your feedback by email using TWRP Coordinator.
We are aiming to make the app work on every device once we leave BETA stage, so please state all bugs in the email and we will work hard on fixing them.Change Log :

Not a major bug in any way, but both ghost explorer and sliding explorer show the new folder created by this app durning a backup as 6/10/1970:

Just figured I'd mention it. No big deal if it doesn't effect backup restoration.

That can't be true. I made the other backup you can see with 2.7 and the date displays correctly. Also, it displays the android build number as well.
Overall this app is great. Its nice to be able to initiate backups without having to boot into recovery.

Read exactly what I said.
Any backup made before 2.7.0.0 or 2.6.3.4 will have wrong date on recent qualcomm devices(approximately every SoC after MSM8960).

You are missing something.
.... I'm still on 2.7, and the backup I circled was initiated with this app, and has the most recent date in the file name...
All my twrp backups are from 2.7. The ones made with this app have the wrong file creation date.

Yes, it will :good:
Just installed it. Seems stable for now, nice speedy ROM. As stock as possible. Will check battery life and report back.
One thing i didn't manage to do is root. Applied the root fix in recovery after first ROM bootup, but SuperSU is saying no SU binaries installed. Still looking into this.
Thanks for the great work
~~~~~
Edit : just resolved root. Removed SuperSU application, rebooted to recovery and applied the following fix http://download.chainfire.eu/396/Supersu.
Not sure exactly if the fix root zip you supplied helped or not, but it did not work without this last updated zip.
From my experiences with NC2 the mods may not be compatible but id like to be proven wrong :fingers-crossed:
Great share :good:
you know how I can fix?
omg, stock is so beautiful !
i needed the root fix to get TiB working. Chainfires update wasnt enough by itself.
Thank you for this, I have so many problems trying to download files from sammobile. A few tweaks, deleted apps and xposed mods and this is amazingly fast, smooth and battery friendly. RAM usage is tiny too. Does anyone know if the new S5 music app and documents app work with this?
Welcome to NoleKat.T310!
This is my tweaked version of the stock touchwiz experience. It is based on the UK KitKat firmware (has more languages than US version). It is Touchwiz based and somewhat mildly debloated.
The stock kernel is included. I'll leave the kernel developing to others for now.
FEATURES
Based on T310 UK KitKat firmware
Deodexed
De-Knoxed
init.d (a few tweaks included like sdcardreadahead and minfree)
App Ops enabled
4-Way Reboot Menu
Removed annoying "SDcard inserted" message after reboot
Rooted
Busybox
Custom NoleKat Boot Animation
sqlite
Boot sound removed
Most all apps that are available in the Play Store have been removed
Added secondary symbols to keyboard
External sdcard fix for KitKat
Removed annoying Safe Volume and Airplane Mode popups
INSTALLATION
Download v1.0 full rom zip and v1.1.update zip from link below
Boot into your custom recovery (recommend Philz Touch)
Perform a factory reset / full wipe (rom install does not wipe data)
Flash full rom, then the update
Reboot and enjoy
Report back any bugs you find
I recommend a full wipe for this version, but you can always try a dirty flash.
Have looked for a flawless working stock rom for a long time but there always seems to be something that doesn't work for me. Am using the bin Droid rom now but keep getting force closes, some random reboots and wifi sometimes just doesn't turn on...
Can you please confirm that everything is working in this one?
OK so I just couldn't hold it and tried the Rom. Full of confidence I simply dirty flashed it with twrp over bindroid without wiping and voilà! Only cleared Cache and dalvik cache after flashing. Apparently everything is working fine but will have to use it for a couple of days to make sure. Su binary says it needs updating but I still have root access. So no need for that...
Just curious what version of TWRP you used. I tried exactly as you did but the flash would quickly fail in TWRP. Flashed fine in Philz and I put TWRP back on for my backup. So far, all working well!
You most likely have an outdated version of TWRP. You should be using 2.7.1.0.
Yeah. I updated to the latest version to be able to flash kk roms. Now I'm just unsure whether to change the build prop settings to have a tab 4 layout or not. I fear that it might interfere with other stuff and make the room unstable. Don't think I'll be able to hold myself though...
