I installed flesky on gear 2 and it was stuck on install for 8 minutes. I striped stopping it and now it doesn't show up installed but in the Samsung store it shows as view in app manager with no option to Uninstall and re-install. I've tried Uninstalling gear manager and resetting watch and nothing any ideas
Went into phone app manager and Uninstaller but I guess I have too many contacts with the bug for it to work. Hasn't this been in beta for a while now

Is your Gear rooted?
I have a similar install problem where the Samsung Store says the app is installed, but I cannot find it in Gear Manager. I am wondering if my Gear being rooted is the problem.

I had same problem. To fix, delete it with a file Explorer. It's in /data/app

This allowed me to keep trying to (re)install the app, but I still get this message every time "Warning: Failed to install the app."
The app appears to install on the phone fine because I can see it in Gear Manager under "Notifications". I wonder what could be keeping the app from installing on the watch?

No idea. I would just start all over by removing app on phone via file Explorer, reboot then reinstall

Yeah, I tried that. Thanks anyway.
I'll try to install it once I unroot my Gear 2. Gear Manager does say that my Gear 2 has been modified, so maybe that's why.

So I installed Fleksy, but I also have the problem with it just showing the word "Contacts" with a blank page. Too bad they didn't implement the option to toggle between showing full contacts and favorites. As only the favorite contacts are the ones I'd expect to use Fleksy with.

I flashed the stock ROM (even did an OTA update) on my Gear 2 and the Fleksy installation still failed. Must be a problem on my rooted/debloated Note 3. Oh well...
I can see my contacts sometimes. However it has a separate entry for each phone for every contact, with no indication of what type of phone it is. They should only show mobile numbers and only contacts that have mobile numbers.

Thanks, but this didn't work for me. I think my phone being rooted and debloated is the problem.
I had no problem installing Fleksy and using it. I have an unrooted Gear2 running NE5 in the US.

I just got the update from going to samsung apps and searching for abode touch.
Says it's 1.3.0 though and mine was 1.2.0 but playstore version is 1.4.1

Mine is still v1.2 that came with it and I can't see how to update it via the Samsung app store. I am logged into the store and my download list is empty and there is no tab for installed apps. I click the Adobe touch icon in the Samsung Store and it knows it's installed, I can launch it from there, but I can't update the app.
I did a google search but I found a page on the adobe forums that said to update the Adobe Touch I had to wait for Samsung to update the firmware to get the latest version which doesn't sound right.

That didn't do anything unfortunately. It just asks me my location again, I pick USA and that's it. There is no tab for installed apps. I have a Downloads tab, I downloaded a app called star gazer, it shows up there. I uninstalled it and it's still listed in the downloads tab.

Have you updated the firmware on your note 10.1 to latest version in kies for pc/mac?
When I think about it now, I remember that it was only when I had updated firmware that I could update PS in app store...

I am keeping my Note 10.1 stock and have checked for updates but there aren't any official updates at the moment. So maybe there is some truth to that adobe forums post. I might have to wait for the next firmware update before I can update the PS Touch app.

There are updates. You need to connect to pc Kies to get it, you will never get it OTA

LOL wish I knew that sooner, it would have saved a lot of time. I didn't think it was a requirement to connect to a PC to get updates I was thinking everything could be done via OTA.
Update: Hmm, I installed kies but there are no updates or anything for my device.

This is the error I'm getting when trying to install some apks. A lot of others worked but some just won't. It's a new phone and a fresh ROM. Why is this happening? What do I do about it?

One of the apps which did it was Battery Widget Reborn. I initially tried installing it via .apk and got the error. Then the same app normally installed via Play store.

Did you enable allow apps from unknown sources? Sideloading is disallowed by default.

Not trying to be snarky, but what good is a smartphone without internet access? Sounds like a $400 paperweight. Are you running a virus scanner that could possibly be blocking sideloading?

Many apps need to be set to rw-r-r
Download file manager. Enable root in settings. Try pushing it to system/app. Restart and see if it works then

I'm having a similar issue. I've been using a slingplayer app that I downloaded over two years ago. I had it working on my Nexus 5 until I switched to ART. After the switch it wouldn't install. I switched back to Dalvik and now it won't reinstall. I can and have installed every other apk on my phone with no problem since switching back except for this one. Any suggestions?

Tried that and it didn't work, but...
PROBLEM SOLVED! What I did was to do a thorough search inside my root to find anything related to the app I was trying to install. I found out that the app has somewhat partially installed in few places. I then deleted all of those and tried installing again. Worked.

I also tried switching between Dalvik and ART but it didn't seem to change anything. I suggest you search your root for any remnants of the app you want to install. Look in data/app, data/app-lib, data/data and system/app.
I installed AR 11.1 and noticed the Samsung App Store is not included. I thought I just missed the selector to install it so I reflashed and no option in the Aroma installer. Is there any way to get it?

I think that ROM isn't Touchwiz based, so it doesn't work.

I just got the watch and i'm trying to pair it with a rooted v20 but it keeps telling me download failed try again. I used the most recent version of Samsung gear from the app store. Can anyone tell me how to solve this?
edit: I got that fixed but now the gear app keeps freezing and I cant finish connecting.
Anyone know how to resolve this? Fresh factory reset on both my phone and watch and get Download failed, try again

There is a problem with gear app and Custom ROMs or rooted phones.
Check this thread for a fixed version of the gear app.

I have this Smartwatch since a few days and was searching a lot, because I also had this "Download failed" problem.
I was about to get the watch back. I clicked from xda thread to xda thread and finally found this modified app.

The Gear app you are pointing to can't find my watch,the app on google play dose find it ok,Mine is the original Gear the first one, Samsung Galaxy Gear,the silver one the one with the camera on the strap and button on the side of the watch...? the app needs fixing.But just got the Gear App working from Google play so it must be ok with a rooted phone cos mine is ,its a Sam Gal J5 (2017).

Gear 1,2 & S works only on Samsung Phone
Rooted my s10e and seems like Netflix isn't showing up on my play store. When I sideload the apk, the app crashes on startup. Is there a way to get Netflix working when rooted on this phone?

I did use magisk hide, and the app still crashes. Luckily there's an old version of netflix out there that works, but it's not a very good version.. Does it show up in the play store for you?

Did you clear data of both the Play Store and the Netflix app in Settings -> Apps -> [app name] -> Storage after hiding them in Magisk? You may also need to hide the Magisk Manager itself.
