I love the design of the Spigen Neo Hybrid. But they list it as being $30, which seems crazy for a case. So I'm googling for better prices, and find the "same product" on AliExpress...

Most likely a knock off, Spigen cases are definitely being copied..

I believe that all cases are made in China these days. The difference is if they came out the front or back door.
I avoid fakes myself.
Ive never bought anything from Ali before, but it is likely a knock off. I have the Neo Hybrid that I bought from Amazon and I personally love it. When I tried using mine naked, man, the oem cover is just too slippery for my liking. I have extra money on my paypal, so I might try this purchase and see what is the difference. Big red flag from the reviews though, they are mostly one word responses such as "good" and "excellent."
Its pretty much guaranteed that all brand products on Aliexpress are counterfeits. Except for Chinese brands. Most Spigen products are made in Korea. If it was true that they came out the back door, it would most likely be for not passing quality control. Although I don't have two cases to compare, the usual differences are, not as good a fit, components not machined as well, lower grade materials.

That one is cheap because it's not made in the official Spigen factory. Spigen also doesn't allow (usually gets taken down quick) others to sell their brand.

i bought the spigen hybrid on amazon for 18$ i put the savings towards a qi card for wireless charging.
i bought one from aliexpress now too ill take photos of both and compare any differences i see between the two when i recieve the aliexpress one, which could be up to a month depending on customs and stuff.

There are quite a few ligit Spigen resellers/retailers for different countries. Although it may be tricky to verify the authenticity of product unless you buy it and check the included serial number. One thing for certain, a genuine Spigen case will not be significantly cheaper as in $3.
i ordered two of them and they are fakes, i attached some pictures of the two i got and the real slim armor i ordered at amazon, they get the job done for $4 but the cut out for usb port is really tight and there is no room to open the flap of the port, i had to take out the case every time i had to charge the phone, that is why i decided to buy a real one at amazon.

they may have been a initial batch that they later discovered the port openings werent big enough and instead of tossing them they sold them for pennies on the dollar. Its just a thought but i can see from your pictures the port openings are definatly smaller

Ran into that exact problem earlier in the year on a Neo Hybrid knockoff. Holes for the volume control were about 2mmm off and only the up volume would work..lol

I wonder if there wil be replacement backs (for the supposedly poor plastic).
Hanging out for a good rubber case or something for it though.

Here's hoping, I think there's an opportunity here for someone.
I need water proof case ....for i9000
Don't get the pull up case. I got one myself a few days ago and it does not fit well. The insides feel rough and it felt like it could scratch the phone at any time.
http://imgur.com/8JV3U.jpg
The top bit wouldn't fit in.
What I'm waiting for is the OtterBox
I've had an OtterBox Defender for my iPhone for over a year, and after the number of times I've dropped my phone only to have it saved, it's the only case I'll use.
Unfortunately, Otter hasn't created one yet. I sent in a request, and they're looking at building one, but don't have one yet.
silicon and leather case.. etc..
..found this link from a forum.. korean website..
..you can try searching the gmarket website.. korean version.
..they have like Zenus Softcase for the GS and alot more.
The Zenus cases look really nice, but it's a bit expensive, and Gmarket always costs a lot to ship internationally.

The orange and black case looks amazing!!
Maybe not realy case related, but also protection..
I've mailed gelaskins and uniqueskins to inquire if they will be producing a skin for the Galaxy S soon.. Gelaskin is putting it up for consideration, uniqueskins however does not respond to any mail i send them, very rude! (despite the've read them, according to the read reports).
I would like to use a skin to protect the plastic cover. However the cover was not as flumsy as most reviews lead me to believe..
case looks awesome how do I order one?? I've been trying to battle through the zenus website (using chrome korean translation as the english version doesn't work) but not getting anywhere...
I absolutely detest cases of any kind as they add extra bulk to an already fairly large device. What I prefer are skins like the ones from gelaskins.com.
some people like case some dont, as for me i want to put some weight on the S its too light, also i dont wanna scratch the back of the phone,
i want that ZEnus case, but like the above guy no idea how to buy from the site, nothing on ebay too...
I am able to purchase from Gmarket as I have used Gmarket before.
Would anyone be interested in me bulk buying some and me sending them to you? The reason is that Gmarket uses a very expensive delivery services, and anything up to 0.5kg is roughly 12 dollars. These cases weigh 0.1kg each so I am able to buy up to 5 of them and still pay 12 dollars delivery.
Edit: Nevermind, I just checked the actual item weights. It's the silicone case that weighs 0.1kg each.
Silicone case: £9.76 (weighs 0.1kg)
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=189041207
Leather case: £19.50 for white or black case, £20.64 for the double coloured cases. (weighs 0.5kg)
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challe...1&pos_class_kind=T&keyword_order=zenus+galaxy
Though the delivery is still cheaper if I bulk buy, if anyone would be still interested then tell me.
seidio
Anyone contacted seidio if they will be making like custom casing, battery, etc for the internation version of GS?
..just curious.. hehehe

is that a kickstand i see on the white case? Looks very nice if it is.....
Not sure, it may just be part of the design, but it would certainly be very nice if it was a kickstand.
you can see it better upclose here....looks rubberish to me and unlikely to be a kick stand 2nd image from the bottom...
http://korucis.com/min/zenus/imgs/GA-eco.jpg
failing that i may try to find some plastic material to attach to the back of a case but unsure what to search for? swivel plastic piece? lol.
Hey guys,
Recently I bought this and while it looked great at first, it dawned on me that it doesn't tightly fit my device and the bottom part of my Nexus 4 has slipped out of the case a couple times..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-BLACK-...959490?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item56513a4042
So now I'm hunting for a new case. I've had really good experiences with the Seidio case with my Nexus S, but it's proven to be rather expensive compared to what others have offered. Wouldn't mind going back if it's the only case of this category that is the best fit and protection for the device.
I was looking at the Mybat but was concerned about the actual bulk of the device, and it being easy to remove as I often take off the shell from time to time. Also, no one seemed to comment if the case interferes with headphones with L-shaped plugs either.
The other two contenders are Ballistic and Ionic, heard great things from both but unsure which is better. I did hear that Ionic cases attract lint very easily but I do like its price very much. Not a fan of the bubble-back design though. Heard great things about Ballistic, but like the Seidio case, the cost is making me apprehensive about purchasing one.
Mybat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-Nexus-4-...4?pt=PDA_Accessories&var=&hash=item2a286793ca
Ionic: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00A06Z41E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KQDBCHA3FRT9

Seidio: http://www.seidioonline.com/lg-nexus-4-active-metal-kickstand-case-black-p/csk3lgn4k-bk.htm
So what do you guys think would be the best?

I have the iconic and thought it was too thick, so I ordered the Ballistic one and it's even thicker
I'm tempted to try the ACTIVE but I have spent so much on cases it isn't even funny....
Edit...I just bought it on ebay for $24.99 and free shipping.
When i had my gs3 i had a variety of cases including; cheap ebay "tough" cases with kickstands, an otterbox defender (never again), and a ballistic sg. The Ballistic is a GREAT case. It was sturdy, the phone would never pop out, the plastic was nice, and the silicone inner was much better than the plastic inner found on the defender. The silicon not only prevented scratches, but also prevented dust and any other unwanted items in. It almost seals the device. When i bought my nexus 4, i was very dissapointed that there weren't any decent protective cases out. I knew the ballistic sg was coming, but ive had my device since december and needed something for the short term... Something to get so i can wait for the ballistic. I was almost going to buy the case you bought, but i really don't like kickstands. I searched on ebay and found the mybat tough case, I bought it as it met all my requirements; it was cheap, it was protective, it didn't have a kickstand, and it actually looked good. The buyer i bought my case from shipped the case very fast to Australia, (which suprised me, usually these types of cases end up taking about a month) To my suprise, the case was really good quality for the price. The cutouts were (almost) perfect, the fit was pefect, the phone doesn't move about at all. I paid 15 dollars shipped to Australia compared the 70 or 80 odd dollars it would cost me to buy a ballistic shipped. I had the case on for a day, and I loved it...Until I tried to hang up on a phone call... the sensor on the lg is very sensitive, and this case just blocks it enough to stop the screen coming on. This fault was quickly fixed with a drill bit, and since then, i have had no issues, and will continue using this case for the remainder of the phones life. I simply prefer the whole case over the ballistic i had on the s3. However the ballistic was slightly better made, it doesn't warrant even a 15 dollar increase over this case. I love this case. (Note in my pictures the proximity cut out I modified) I did a custom design with sharpie marker on mine and it came out awesome! I wouldn't do this to a more expensive case as id be worried about wrecking it, but since these bad boys are so cheap, who cares. If this broke, i wouldn't think twice at buying another one.
Edit: This case also works with my energizer qi charging mat.
that back is awesome!
FYI the ballistic case works with the LG-WCP700 wireless charging pad. I do however find it is harder to hold on to as it's slippery compared to the Ionic. It's also larger than the Ionic.
I'd go with Mybat (because it's cheap and looks decent) or the Active (because seidio makes a good product and I like the kickstand.)
i also love the look of rugged cases.. been using them ever since my first smartphone
currently i am using this armourdilo case that i saw online.. it is available for sale on mobilefun website or i have seen a seller through eBay AUS...
availbale in a varieety of colours as well although i stuck the standard black on black ...
as well as many youtube vdo reviews bout it.. so i decided to buy it.. really good look and feel..

The case is easier to get off than my ballistic sg on the s3 was. With that said, if i drop it, it doesn't feel as if it will fly apart. The case has interfered with one of my L-shaped head jacks, and works with another.. i just use a simple headphone extender when i want to use those earphones.

I also dropped it from about 5feet and it bounced on all 4 corners but the phone was fine!

You can check on the spigen website, there should be a serial or something in that circle on the inside. In my fake neo hybrid this is blank. My fake was just fine however, and a lot cheaper, if you paid full price though definitely check!

Not a fan of this. I'm eying up the iron shield, not sure I want to pay £15 though
Definately a fake.
-The real sticker on the inside of the plastic shell is of much lower quality, its crooked, and the sticker on the real case does not come anywhere near the speaker grill.
- On the inside of the rubber part of the case the detail lines do not match up to that of the real thing, and also the lines are not glossy like on the real case.
-The headphone jack cutout is also the wrong shape, it is more oval on the authentic case.
-The entire outside of the plastic case is 100% wrong, so I won't even go into detail on that.

OP should gather and document proper evidence and file a counterfeit item dispute with paper.
On the other hand, the cost to ship it back might not be worth it, present your case to the seller and he will more than likely offer you a refund instead of risking the negative feedback.
"100 satisfaction and %100 guaranteed quality. For any reason you are not happy I will refund your money in full or send you a new replacement."
If you want to go all out, report this to eBay, gather the responses from the actual company and try to get the listing removed.
GL OP.
Got myself a Spigen armour case for £2.99 which I was fairly certain was fake before I even bought it but I like the look of it.
But the problem is the sides aren't high enough so don't hold the phone in properly looking like the phone will fall out of it.

The case has marks that you can see that the "Fake Spigen Armor Fix" had been done to make it seem less... fake... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313516
The hard shell on the outside seems that it would shatter the first time you even put it on...
The inner shell feels like tupperware - no give at all... I wouldn't rely on it to cushion much of anything!
Here's the pics I took of it - let me know if you suspect it's a phony as well!

You can get them on Aliexpress for about $3. They are knockoffs, but trust me, I own real and fake, and they are identical. Even the real ones are tough to get on. Put it on in one piece not rubber then plastic.

Stick with the metallic colors , they are better. The plain colors can be faded.
Looks a lot like a fake...if you buy it from Ebay make sure the seller is Spigen or just buy it off their website.
i think u got is 100%fake
based on the pics, i think what u have is 100% FAKE, the plastic cuttings seems really inaccurate
Hi
Thought I would post my experiences of the official google case in more detail.
TLDR short version: It isnt worth the price, scratches easily and could easily scratch the phone. Approach with caution or not at all.
I bought the clear google case alongside my phone today. The case is not worth the premium cost. I know some believe that OEM cases are always over priced however I am not one of those people and tend to prefer official products.
Look
The case is not completely clear it is two tone, clear gloss at the top and matte frosted at the bottom. It looks OK especially if you want to preserve the two tone look of the design choice.
Size
Size is good, it is slim with a slight 'lay on the table' lip.
Feel
It feels very cheap, I would advise against purchasing the case on this issue alone. It has a slight 'lay on the table' design however it is this when your hand rubs against it that feels the most cheap and flimsy, not at all premium, more like $2 case.
Durability
Zero. Mine has already scratched on the gloss portion. I have had the case on for a couple of hours, on a desk and in my hand, as sterile and environment as would be possible. What is worse is the case is scratched on the inside. I only put the case on once and was careful to clean it before hand to check for any manufacturing debris. It hasnt been in a phone or a pocket yet. I am aware of course that debris can over time get into a hard case and you must mitigate against this but there has not been time for this.
Conclusion
Looks OK. Feels cheap and will scratch easily. However ultimately I wouldn't be comfortable putting my phone back in this case. I would be afraid that if this can happen so easily, the phone itself would get scratched up while in this case in no time at all.
I reached out to google to provide this feedback. There was nothing they could do and suggested I post feedback on the google forum as google listens to that. I do not see the merit in it that and despite this post, I am not really a complainer. I do however see merit in posting a review which may assist other people. It is after all an expensive phone going into a not cheap case.
TC
Any idea if the picture case is the same material? I ordered one of these a week ago.
@thetonyclifton
Can you send some pics of the case, the phone in it etc.
I agree, I got the case for Pixel XL. I like how slim it is, almost like there isn't a case on it. But mine appears to have some wear after just a day and a half. Sucks to have to look for a new case after dropping $30 on this Google one

I remember when i bought the nexus 6p and got the 35 dollar silicone case along with it. It is absolute waste, within a week material started getting faded and scratching. So i explained this to google and they allowed me to return it. I ended getting the Spigen Rugged Armor case for half the price and the quality is 100 times better. Same goes to my Pixel XL i already received the Spigen Rugged Armor case for it now just awaiting for the phone itself

I was disappointed in the build and value, then disappointed by the easy damage and then terrified it would damage the phone. A really bad case in my experience and I normally really like OEM cases. I got a Spigen liquid crystal and while it is a bit bigger and all glossy, it is a much better case for about a 5th of the price.

I didn't buy the case from Google I bought it from a bricks and mortar phone store who wouldn't return the case because it julooked like I scratched it, it did have a scratch on there as I said but that was half of my complaint with the case. I contacted Google as the manufacturer and they didn't want to know. I didn't expect my money back as I didn't pay them but did expect them to offer me a voucher or replacement to try and make amends.

Sorry, no, just because I genuinely do not want to put my phone back in there again. Its cheap and scratchy, it makes a disconcerting scrapping noise against the sides of the phone.

Wait - you bought the Official Google case from a B&M phone store? Which store was it? (surprised to hear that it the official case is available from 3rd party stores already - are you sure it is a genuine one? Is it possible that the store sold you a "case for the Google Pixel phone")
what case are you talking about, this one ?

It is the official case. I bought it from Carphone Warehouse in the UK who are the official seller of the Pixel in UK. That is why they had it in stock at launch.

That actually looks pretty darn thin. Thanks for posting photos. How much of a lip does it add to the fingerprint scanner, would you say?

Ha. The new standard of measuring pixel case thickness. It's like the only thing I look for in pictures

I just filled my RMA too.
For a 45$ case, it's all scratched in under a week of getting in and out of my pants... It shouldn't scratch like that.
I've already order a Spigen one for 14$ instead of the 45$...
I can't add more pictures to my post but here's the scratch. I didn't put it on any hard surface, it was in my pants all day unless I used it, in my hand at home.
45 dollars for a cheapo silicone case??
OMG, they should send you a dinner ticket with it for that price..
Check Amazon for excellent clear silicone cases for under 10 bucks

It's not in silicone but some hard plastic
I ordered the official one because the N6 one was a nice case and all others had a long delivery, about a month but I've found some Spigen that had 1 day delivery.
I just got this one for 8 bucks, and its really nice...

I'm done overpaying for cases...
agreed x100000. The official slim case was nowhere near worth the price and I only bought it because I a case on day one. Currently looking for cases now to replace immediately

Original Samsung case is good enough.
I went with the default case
It's actually sturdier than I imagined, the fact that it acts as a kick stand is a bonus. I caught it on sale at Best Buy for $25, don't know that I'd of paid more than that though.
i got a Poetic Turtle Skin case from amazon for less than $20. its very nice because my tab a always tries to maake its way to my floor and that case has good cushioning on the corners and it sticks up above screen. it fits perfectly also, which i have seen many complaints about other cheap cases not fitiing right. heres the link to amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Prote...4&sr=8-3&keywords=poetic+turtleskin+tab+a+7.0
