Kernel Selection... - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to pick between several kernels. Namely:
1. Furnace OC
2. ElementalX .45 (current)
3. Trinity
4. Bricked
And
5. Uber
I am running the 443 version of DirtyUnicorns and loving it. I really prefer to have s2w; and even more preferably bidirectional s2w like on ElementalX and Furnace.
Thanks,
cerberusiscute

these threads arent allowed on xda. you have to try these kernels and decide on your own. there are no magic kernels, you decide whats best for your needs and device.

No one can really tell you what the best choice is. Sorry.

The very first thread at the top of this page is titled "No best rom/Kernel threads".....

reading is hard?

The only way to get an answer is to add them all up yourself to get to 15

That would be a Furmental-Triuber Brick right?
Think I've heard good things about that one!

[Q] new ninja rom

has anybody else tried the new ninja rom from team phoenix? so far so good
What rom are you referring to?
I wouldn't have posted this in the Ninja Q& A thread either. I mean Rules and logical thinking aside, it just makes more sense to make a new 1 sentence thread about it.
Yep...

Ninja is a great rom. If you check my sig you will see that is what i use. Great bunch of people as well. The beauty of being able to flash different roms gives you the chance to try everything. There is no need to ask what everyone thinks....just try it! LOL. One person may not like it but the other one might. Everyone has different tastes. Below is a link to the Ninja Q & A section. Read, then go to the ninja thread and flash the rom...and let your training begin ninja.

[TWEAK] JellyBean multi user mode

I saw this article on XDA homepage and decided to give it a go on our Desire S running CM10.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807751
It works like a charm. Although hiding settings as shown on the original thread don't work as it isn't merged into CM10 tet.
All steps on the original thread.

Agreed! I love the concept but needs further work!
I try this, but secondary profil is only for guest not for next full user. Works other full profile or only guest with limited rights?
why not just use the app?

Before this thread gets locked by the mods;-
1) Put more useful information in the title. "Question" doesn't help anybody.
2) This would be far better in the HTC One X forum.
3) These threads normally end up getting closed because a "Best ROM" is entirely down to user assessment.
Best bet - Go on the forum, Do a lot of reading, Try ROMs out yourself and make your own decision as to which one you want to use.
Very true what he ^^^^^^^^^ said and thank you.

[Q] best Tom regarding battery life

Hey guys in looking to install a custom rom and I am curious which rom has the best battery life mahdi rom, catalysm or other?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Hi,
Better is to try by yourself, battery life is mainly based on your own settings and usage. If you have some rogue apps, bad network reception, etc... whatever the rom you'll choose it will be the same thing.
You'll have as many answers as there is different rom based on the different settings/usage for each users...
And take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477889.

Well, he did ask for the best "Tom"...
I'm kinda partial to Tom Selleck because my Grandma had a crush on him and it was cute. LoL
Best ROM/Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA as you have been shown above. Please try them out yourself and see which "best" suits your needs.

I would recommend rastakat the latest version if you want something with very few customizations and very fast fluid ui, pair it with Franco or linear kernel for amazing battery life and performance. I'm currently running it with linear 2.8 and its great [emoji2].
If you want a ROM with a lot of customizations go for madhi, purity, or carbon I would recommend.
Or you can always go to the old reliable cm11 which has just the right amount of customizations including themes .
You can always try ROMs out with multirom to see the ROMs that you like and can pick which one you want to run as a DailyDriver or be a flashoholic and flash every few hours xD. Hope this helped you and sorry for all the reading have fun in the world of rooting
We do not allow threads asking for suggestions on ROMs. The question is subjective, best advice is to head over to the development section try some out and see which best suits your needs. Also questions should be posted in Q&A not general.
