Greetings,
I have been using the SHTD Rom for HTC Explorer since quiet a long time and I'v always had this bug its just I never looked into it and ignored it. But now I really need it and have tried searching over the internet for the same but couldnt find any.
Need to fix the wifi hotspot on this rom as it wont start. Till now I have been using wifi on my laptop through bluetooth tethering.
Please help me fix this issue, If possible for a permanent fix through scripts, it would just make my day.

PS: SHTD Rom works on Android 4.1.2 Jellybean and kernel 3.0.16pandora.

My institution's wireless network is secured with 802.1x WPA2-Enterprise (TTLS PAP) and with every captivate froyo rom I tried, the wireless connection could not get past authentication (other types of wifi security work fine). Turns out this is an issue with wpa_supplicant v 6.10 (code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8804) and a workaround I do is use the wpa_supplicant v 6.9 from the stock Eclair rom or v 5.11 from a couple of the HTC roms and they seem to work fine.
The attached zip file is just the binary file, which goes in /system/bin. I do not know how to make it a Clockworkmod flashable update file, if someone can help that'd be great.

i will be incorporating this into the next update of andromeda, assuming the testing goes well.

Dang, You got here quicker than me.
It works. I have WPA2 TTLS/PAP at work. Connects in like 3 seconds.

I just rooted my s4 and I will install cwm recovery if thats what it takes to get this phone connected...Can any one give me clear steps on how to do this with custom rom recovery and tell me if I need a custom rom or not and also tell me how to do this with out a custom rom at all and no recovery(if that is possible) thanks!!!
Hey Guys,
Im hoping anyone can tell me as to why on most roms, (but at the moment, android revolution) i cannot get the current location name when using WiFi?
It works fine on 3G/GPRS, but on WiFi it just says 'Current Location', It doesnt bother me when im out and about cus im not on WiFi but when im at home it annoys me a bit.
If anyone knows of a fix or has the same issue please help me out.

ive got all 4 boxes ticked.
ive just done a fresh install... superwipe and installed the revolution rom again (3.1.1)
But its still doing it.. only works with WiFi off... which is annoying...
Im gonna try incertcoin and see how i get on.. after that im going to flash a different radio
Will post back.. because im sure many others are having the issue.
I downloaded the weather and news app I had on my nexus one. Love that app and no problems.

Cheers Bud i may try it.. its only been happening for a few days.. ive flashed a few radios & kernels with no change.. im gonna flash the other 3.0.4 revolution rom (which worked flawlessly) then ill see how i get on and report back.. its a common problem i think.
Hey guys,
I have a rooted htc inspire running cm7. I was running the Inspired asop rom when this problem started. The problem is that i seem to be unable to get a data connection, The icon on the status bar is greyed out, still has an H with the 2 arrows, and 4 bars, But still if i go to the browser or market or anything involving data it dosent work? I thought maybe it was the rom so i flashed different ones, same result. i reset the apn settings, still the same. now im at a loss. If anyone could please help me id greatly appreciate it! thanks

Did you make sure data was enabled under mobile network settings?

I have an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G on h2o wireless, last week i rooted my phone using Android Revolution HD 6.1.1, before I was rooted my internet and MMS were working fine now since being rooted they do not work at all. I had download from the android market the h2o config app and before it worked but since rooted it does not work anymore. can someone please help me?
I had the same problem, you didn't flash a new radio after rooting and the stock one was not meant to be kept so your going to neew to pick a new radio to flash.
Have you messed with your APN setting recently?

Hi,
I have rooted my phone and updated it to ICS 4.0.3.. Since then my data connection is not connecting and when i also searched for Mobile networks, it returns with networks not found. I sense that there is something i might have not done or may be something gone wrong... Please help me...
Device : inspire 4G
firmware: ICS 4.3

Have u even checked ur APN settings, like the post right above yours asks the other guy? That's the first thing to check

What Rom?

Hi all!
I have a problem with my LG Optimus 3D. I cannot enable the Wifi, when I tap on the wifi enable icon or try to enable in the Settings it just flashes. A note, I forgot to disable the wifi when I went to sleep, and my phone was on wifi all night, but I think this cannot be the source of the problem.
Here's what I tried so far:
- Hard reset - Wifi not working
- Factory reset - Wifi not working
- Changed the ROM - Wifi still not working (I used this ROM)
Any suggestions ?

If the wifi is not working in any situation consider to put it back to stock, clean it up and give it to assistance to repair it.Might be a faulty WiFi module. Are you sure that you don't use a fixed IP on the phone or your router is faulty?Just asking...

Well the return to stock and assistance is still valid.Try doing an emergency recovery using update tool from LG.Maybe the new version software- the 2.3.7 version with v21e baseband version, would do something good. Cheers mate and good luck.

This is certainly not the source of the problem. I keep my WiFi always on (from advanced settings, WiFi Sleep policy: Never) which doesn't consume much batter when the phone is on standby.
did the problem occur when you flash the rom ?
in which baseband you had
for example if it was 2.2 baseband and the rom was for 2.3 it can not be flashed with clockworkmod
you should flash the kdz files for 2.3 baseband and then flash a rom with clcokworkmod
i also had problems with wifi and i did flash a 2,2 baseband ( kdz files ) and the problem was fixed
Can someone help me? I got a wifi issue also.... sometime i can't turn it on... and it drains my battery so quickly... and whenever it happens, i have to restart it in order to use the wifi... i think i have a stock rom... i don't flash another rom again since the last rom from thaiz... and there're not a big improve at all...

I had WiFi issues (and signal issues) from wrong base bands in GB. Some ROMs and kernels aren't compatible with certain base bands and you can either lose WiFi, signal or both

I have a rooted evita running 1.73 with stock HTC sense. I also have an unlocked and rooted Nexus 7 tablet. I am unable to share files using WiFi Direct. I can connect fine but can't find the WiFi Direct option when trying to share from say, gallery. I have looked on Google and others seems to have this problem, but no solution is offered. I've looked here and can't find a suitable thread. Does anyone here know why this isn't working?
Update: Since I've started using CM 10, I've had no problems.

look for task manager app and verify if it is in the backgroud.
youo can use tibackp also to look for it in the system.
