I tried helium and purchased pro. Although it kept getting dropped while backing up to drive ( possibly because my data speed is very low until they fix it, and my broadband gets installed) what can i do though I use my apps all the time so I can't exactly start checking out all these awesome Roms cause I'll spend more time redownloading apps then trying :/

Helium Backup Premium is the best one out there. Alternatively you could try Titanium backup which also allows backing up to cloud services but it requires root to function.

I just backed up all my apps in My Backup and for all of them I got a Market Link not found unablento connect to market error.
Im in Thundershed 1.4 rom.
Any idea why I would get this error?
I dunno but why don't you use titanium backup?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I use both. I usually prefer to reinstall apps from my backup because titanium mixes in some (system?) apps that don't play well from one rom to another.
It seems that updating my backup fixed the problem.
It's always best to exclude system apps from your backup. If you don't back them up then you should be ok.

My Backup does that automatically so it reduces my chances of screwing up. I do use titanium for individual apps....just don't like using its batch feature.
I don't know how some developers can write great code all night long. The later it gets the more obvious my errors are the next day.
Yea I used my backup for a while but I got tired of the errors I was getting from using it. You can filter what apps show in your batch list in tibu which makes it easier for keeping system apps out.

i was searching all over the net and this forum for a gud one.
i didnt like my experience with titanium.root,mybackup.root/pro,astro and go backup.
i m on latest CM10 nightly by Quarx.
when i backup and restore ..say AngryBirds which i have installed in and moved to sd-card. the restore goes to internal memory again.
the restore fills my internal memory. as i m always on latest nightlies i can keep reinstalling and then moving them to sd-card all the times.
i have a little over 200 apps installed.
2morrow i will try Ultimate backup tools a xda development. hopng for a better result
Best Back up app
I think it's like anything else when you're customizing your phone. A matter of personal preference. Try till you find you you like.
Titanium Backup is the best. The icon system works well.
My backup is great for one click backup and restore, and has very friendly UI. The downside is that it doesn't follow symlinks so doesn't copy app apks but only data. Tibkp is too pricey for an app which still has some major bugs, also it takes a whole lotta time to figure out all the settings and it backs up too much stuff (i switch roms often, so system files can be a hassle). It has some cool feats, like restore from cwm backup and such, but again, it's more the time i spent wiping data due to system fc's than that i would've spent redownloading all the apps. GO backup i used when i was new to android and got the full GO package (launcher, sms, contacts etc) two weeks into android and learning how it works and i got rid of all that crap....To sum it up, still looking for a good app (though i haven't tried many tbh)
I prefer Titanium Backup
Best backup app is apk batch installer for sure
Its not an android app its windows app and works by adb

I'm using Titanium Backup PRO & Link2SD, even though it works very well, I'm looking for one app that does both thing..

Titanium Backup is the best!
If you need an app just for backups, Titanium must serve you well... never had a problem using it!
Re:
I also want to go with Titanium Backup app. It really powerful app for backup and one of the special thing of this app is that it just does not backup the apps but also back up the data associate with that app. Additionally, it takes back up of system apps along with user apps. Truly amazing oneā¦.
Titanium backup is the most popular. I think that's the best too.
I like titainium backup because of the so many options to choose.

Mostly refers to titanium backup
but since it have the paid version, which is not too expensive(i know)the developers deserves it.for now
but still,i think the best one is CMW,nothing else
titanium backup, so many features (if you really know how to use it), never use others, and worth buying the pro version

I prefer Titanium Backup from all the features it has
Well, Titanium has never failed me.
So I have a rooted Asus Transformer (TF101), and I have several games on it that I've made quite a lot of progress in. I was wondering if there was some sort of app or something I could use to back up the save games/data across device reformats. When I went from JB 4.2 to JB 4.3, I thought I had used Titanium Backup correctly, and ended up losing nearly 2 months of progress in several games. Does anyone know if I need to have the Pro version of TB or if I just used it incorrectly? Or even another alternative?
I used Titanium backup (free) several times and never had any issue. Make sure to save apps+data and if device is rooted it should work. Some software for pc (such as Moroboro) can backup data but it don't always work, and this one is pretty invasive.
You can just backup the app data with google in sync settings
I use titanium also
Hmm... I'll have to give it another go after work and class then, and check out the google syncing, thanks for the replies.
another question, somewhat related:
Is it possible to use TB to restore saved data to a non-rooted device if I decide to switch the games to something else?

I've switched ROMs often in these past few days, and one of the few things that annoy me is that I lose my SMS every time. Is there a way to backup and restore? I thought of Titanium, but then I know it's not ideal to use Titanium after clean installs

I've always used this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
Saves SMS messages to an xml file on the device.

Looks to be exactly what I was after!
I should have thought to look around in the play store, I just never believed there would be a dedicated app for that.
Thanks for the help!

Titanium works great... I restore all my SMS and MMS all the time when flashing new ROMs. Never had an issue.

There's no problem using titanium on clean installs but the onus is on the user to understand the difference between data/app data, system/app data and why clean installs are required in the first place.

Titanium backup has an option in the menu to back up sms/mms to xml. Much cleaner than contact/phone data in normal backup options on there

Titanium backup is an amazing tool for flashers.

Is that why on some roms the phone process FCs when I use titanium to restore sms/mms? I've been using titanium for quite a while now and experience this from time to time, but never took the time to look into it. The only thing that resolves the problem is throwing the phone into airplane mode and clearing the phone data I had just restored.

Yes I would suspect so.

Is it normal to be asked to enter sign in info after restoring Facebook? I'd assumed one of the benefits of backing up and restoring apps was that login info would be retained... Otherwise may as well just reinstall from Play.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Yes it is, the Facebook app doesn't play well with titanium backup. And yes you could just skip backing it up or you could backup your accounts and restore them and get what you want

Well, you've discovered that Titanium Backup is not completely bullet-proof, i.e. there are some apps that just don't play well with it. Your posting tone almost implies that Titanium Backup is now useless: .after all, you can just reinstall all your user apps from their respective play stores or other sources if you need to. Of course, backing up, freezing/removing, or restoring system apps is another story, but after all, how useful can that really be?
Having to login again is pretty minor if the rest of an apps settings and data are preserved...was that the case with Facebook?
Lol... Yeah my tone did imply that... But am finding it really useful and prob wouldn't be without it now my phone is rooted and flashed especially with all the ROM updates! Do need to get to grips with some of the other features...
