Requesting Zero Lag Wake Lag option - Omni Features Development

Several Samsung devices are plagued with wake lag when you unlock the device from sleep. There are workarounds that essentially disable deep sleep, with minimal battery drainage to solve this lag.
Using this Guide works, I would love to see it as an option in Omni's Performace menu.

We're not going to include a feature that wakelocks a device and describes itself as anything other than wakelocking a device.

deep sleep on cm10

hi, i have an htc sensation 4g running cm10 jelly bean rom and i wanna know how to put my phone on deep sleep. im on bruce kernel 3.0.49. can some1 please help?
I believe the device should automatically go into sleep mode when not in use. I don't believe you have to do anything for this to occur. Make sure none of your applications are running on there own.go to settings, apps, running apps and see what's running. Leave system apps alone however if other than system apps are running you can close these apps. Just press on the app and a menu will pop up. The running apps other than system apps could prevent deep sleep. Make sure you don't shut down ANY system applications that are running. Those should be fine. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

If you're a little adventurous you can check out the Q&A thread about Bruce's ROM. Skipjacks and Tobitge have put together a list of processes to kill using system tuner (I think). The wakelocks are a known issue and perplexing to say the least. I am beginning to wonder however how big of battery drain they really are... I'm having pretty good results despite them.

does it improve battery life tho?
Yes it would if they could improve the wake lock situation. Check out as above thread suggested, they possibly know of a fix! Also have you considered a extended battery? Extended battery really helped my battery issues. But in this case it sounds like a known issue with something in the rom causing wake lock
This is where your drain is coming from. Check out the fix above. See if it helps.

This only helps with some specific Google Services wakelocks. The Android framework is causing some other wakelocks through the AlarmManager service (Not the same as the alarm clock). These wakelocks have proved very elusive to destroy.
The modifications to the google services framework that Tobitege and I worked out do seem to have some impact on battery life. But if you are a big user of Google Now or GTalk, these modifications are not for you as they break both of those services (mainly because those 2 services were 2 of the 3 main causes of Google wakelocks)
The thing with the battery drain because of these wakelocks is that they drain the battery during sleep, but that drain isn't being properly reported in the battery stats (this is an electrical physics problem related to how a slowly discharging power cell can give a false reading of voltage, not a software problem). So you'll have the phone in sleep for 3-4 hours and it will show no discharge despite constant wakelocks. But us the phone for 10 minutes and the battery quickly drops 15%. In reality it drained that 15% during sleep due to the wakelocks. The battery stats just weren't showing it right away.
Bruce did make some tweaks on 10/27 that have improved the Android inspired wakelocks noticably. But they are still there.

Why not a "Deeper Sleep" (For Tablets)

I'm always impressed with how an ipad can keep it's battery life for so long when it's sitting around dormant, yet the Android tablets (like my TF101) seem to leak battery life constantly.
A tablet is not a phone (that needs to always be kept alive somewhat for IM's, phone calls, emails, etc)......, so why can't a custom kernel implement a "DEEPER SLEEP" option. When enabled, when the device goes to deep sleep, and nothing is going to wake it up except for the power button (or lid open). No more wakelock issues, nor rogue apps accessing data, or doing all the troubleshooting to find these apps that drain the battery during sleep cycles. It's like windows PC "sleep" mode...just enough power drawn to keep it's data in memory.
Most likely there is a reason for it...but I don't know what it is.
FYI: I already use tasker to put the device into airplane mode when I turn the screen off, until I unlock it, which helps a great deal.
Have you tried CPUSpy to see how much Deep Sleep your TF101 is actually getting?
Some people use BetterBatteryStats to see which apps are preventing the tablet from Deep Sleep.
Oh and there is a discussion about battery-leaks during sleep here

Yep...many apps, many ways to snoop.
What I was proposing was a way to make all that unnecessary. A sleep mode that is unwakeable by apps.

In the BetterBatteryStats App - you can turn off all Internet reporting/Knowledge Base accessing etc, so no snooping.
There is an app that claims to put android into Deep Sleep
Description
Deepsleep battery saver constantly puts the device to deepsleep mode while screen off

CPU Spy tells me that my TF101 enjoys a good night's deep sleep when the screen is switched off and wifi off.
I hate to be comparing apples to oranges but Apple builds specific hardware for their own software. Android development is the complete opposite. Many manufacturers with many different components that require many different drivers and most companies with Android seem to drop support quickly and stop supporting new versions of android. Lucky for all of us xda is around !

Hidden Wakelocks by Whatsapp

I am running into a Wakelock issue and I am completely stumped. For some reason, my phone refuses to go into deep sleep for hours on end. Better Battery Stats shows that the phone spends the majority of its time with the CPU at its lowest frequency, but refuses to go into deep sleep. The issue started when I clean flashed LinageOS back when I tried 14.1. Since 15.1 has recently released, I tried to have another go, yet the problem remains. I am using a Oneplus 5.
The very weird thing about these Wakelocks is, is that they are completely invisible. Wakelock Detector isn't showing any specific wakelocks (Advanced mode enabled), but does show that the phone isn't entering the deep sleep state. Not even for a single second. Better Battery Stats shows the same thing, with zero seconds spent in Screen off (deep sleep) and all the time spent in Screen off (Awake). No application is listed anywhere that's causing these wakelocks. They aren't visible under partial wakelocks nor kernel wakelocks.
Now this is where things get bizarre. I tried removing all my applications and reinstalling them one by one to find out if it was an app that was causing the issues. Each time I installed an app, I would check whether the phone would go into deep sleep when I wasn't using it. It turns out that the phone stopped going into deep as soon as Whatsapp was installed. Yet Whatsapp would never register more than a few seconds of wakelocks each passing hour.
I'm not sure where to even begin to try and solve this issue. Has anyone else ever experienced these kind of invisible / hidden wakelocks, and if so, how did you manage to fix these issues? Thank you very much in advance for helping me out
Nobody with a similar problem to mine? It's really killing battery life for me

I think I may have something similar happening with WhatsApp. My stats show lots of time spent with CPU on and screen off. Wakelock detector shows WhatsApp at the top of the list. But I don't really understand how to solve it other than deleting WhatsApp, which I don't want to do. Did you get anywhere with it?

No, I still have the same issue unfortunately. Though my issue seems to be slightly different than yours in the sense that Whatsapp is very low in the list. The total minutes of Wakelock is far below the total minutes of awake (screen off). But uninstalling Whatsapp instantly solves the wakelock issue. Out of interest, what phone are you using and what rom?

Redmi Note 4, Pixel Experience Oreo 8.1
I got here through a google search. I am not sure it's whatsapp causing this (haven't removed it yet) but on a Moto G3 with LOS 15.1 unofficial by Rahul I have the same symptoms.

The most wicked wakelock I've ever encountered.

I'm having the most aggressive wake lock I've ever witnesses on Android to date. This job.delay is driving me crazy because there seems to be very little data or answers to how to solve this issue. I can't even recall ever seeing it in BBS before Oreo or if it was there the amount of wakeup intents were negligible. I have a list of running background apps that I'm attaching and have went down the list and frozen each app , besides BBS of course, to see if the wakeups would stop to no avail. Just see the image I've attached and no that the wake up rate will not slow down and will reach astronomical numbers before my battery dies. Any help is appreciated.
Sorry, I'm no help but I have the same issue on my Note 8.
Whatever is causing the *job.delay* alarm is murdering my phone.

Use a wakelock detecting app, then identify the wakelock(s) that are bothering you, then use an app that can manage your wakelocks by enabling/disabling as needed to get the effect that you want.

Are notification issues still there?

Hi, I'm using EMUI 5 on my Honor 8 (FRD-L04 so still noreo ) and was wondering if we still have to set apps to ignore battery optimization to get notifications. When I first got my phone I installed all the apps and set them to ignore battery optimizations so that I could get notifications but lately my battery life is pretty ****ty, especially since these apps ignore doze. So I'd like to know if people still have to set apps to ignore doze or does notifications work like they're supposed to after so many updates? Thanks!
By ignore battery optimization you mean enabling auto-start on each app? I haven't faced any battery life decrease with it enabled.

Not that one. Like inside settings there is a page called ignore battery optimizations which helps apps bypass doze.
