[Completed] my phone is stuck at boot loop - XDA Assist

i'm using micromax a110....... i have rooted my phone and i have tried alot of custom roms posted on xda after that i decided to try building my own rom i looked up every thing about kitchen and stuff and i worked on micromax JB stock rom i really liked the slimkat rom so i thought i could mix them up maybe and get those features so i built my rom and pasted it in my sd card along with the original stock Micromax JB rom (just in case something goes wrong) i thought i can always go into recovery (vol up+down and power button) to fix things up but now its not getting in recovery when i press the vol buttons with the power button it gives me 3 options 1 recovery. . 2 fast boot and 3 normal and when i choose recovery it just shows the canvas 2 superfone image and shuts down............. what can i do........
i will be very grateful for your help.

If you want to build your own rom, no problem, but on first you need to have a stable device.
Go here => [TUTORIAL][ROMS] SP Tool Flashing Procedure
After you will need to search your stock rom here and => Micromax Canvas 2 A110: All Thing Discussion
Before to build your own rom correctly, you need to read, learn here => General discussion > XDA-University
and here too for a Custom SlimRom => Custom ROM Central > Custom ROM Central > SlimRoms

[Q] Canvas 2 Rooting with Jellybean

Hi Gurus,
I have always got all my answers on XDA-developers.com..... You people are simply the best.... Thanks for your support always.
I got my new Canvas 2 two months back. I have a problem that my GPS is not responding. I have googled a lot for the same and all reply that only method is to root my phone.
Also to note that I have already upgraded it to Jellybeans yesterday, but still GPS is not responding.
Now I think of rooting my phone but I have a clear idea that it will void my warranty. But I am very sure that XDA-developers will surely have some method out here to root the phone and again unroot the same so that I can gain my warranty back.
Please do help so that I can resolve my GPS issue I am really stucked.
Thanks in well advance.

How to unbrick bricked Canvas 2

Today I am sharing my experience of my bricked C2, some time ago when I was trying another ROM and flashed it on my phone, my phone got bricked, even no cwm opening, no charging and nothing its like that phone is without battery and nothings works.
Then finally by a simple way I recovered my sweet C2
The way is
First Download latest SP flash tools
From here - thnkss to #aabidhashmi bro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2650125
Then you will need a PC and your all phone softwares should be installed in PC,
Then download MMX a110 stock ROM
Thanks to Sanz_khan bro
http://d-h.st/zEb
And follow the method of flashing ROM using SP flash tools
Here is the method
http://androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool
Thnkss to androidxda
Now after flashing stock ROM you will find that your phone is Resurrected[emoji6]
Now Enjoy your phone its Unbricked.
Note- Don't remove battery while flashing but your phone should be permanently switched off.
If you find that SP flash tool is not recognizing your phone then use Samsung data cable instead of MMX data cable.
Hit thanks Button it will motivate me and it will not cost you[emoji6]

[Q] (HELP) Micromax A110 stuck on Bootscreen- Rom-Canvas 5.1

Hi Guys,
Before you guys shoot me down, Just wanted to say, i searched XDA for 2 hours, couldn't find the exact reply. And a few topics are open since a year with no reply, So thinking that someone will reply to me. I am opening this "Need Help" Ticket.
I have a micromax a110 with 4.04 - as i got no update ever! So what i did was
Rooted the phone properly as per the procedure.
Downloaded the CWM 6.0.4.9 recovery [selinux] and flashed it with Recovery Link :http://forum.xda-developers.com/mic...opment/recovery-cwm-6-0-4-9-recovery-t2789175
Downloaded the [ROM][4.2.2] CanvaS5™ V1.1 Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775553
After flashing the rom properly, when i reboot the phone, it gets stuck on the boot screen forever. Am i doing something wrong? Should i have flashed a kernel? or something. Please note, i am not looking into going back to stock, as i have moved into the dark side of the root world .
Since i have just been a Read-only user of XDA for all this while(more than a year), with no posts ever, i cant request for help on the Developer Thread as it requires privileges. Requesting someone to please post this topic there so i can speak to the dev or please give me a answer to help me:silly:

That Recovery you flashed is SELinux enabled and is not supported by 4.1-4.2.2 Jelly bean Roms so you have got boot loop . You can try other recovery or flash higher android version roms .

I think this CWM recovery will work with your downloaded rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204785
And remember before flashing anything clear data, cache and dalvik-cache.
Happy Flashing
Thanks guys for the reply, let me flash the above CMW and check. Will revert shortly
How to i put the CMW in the phones root directory now for it to flash? The phone doesnt start so cant access it through usb. Any ideas?

Hey shreyas,
I have tried it with SP tools, it doesnt work, man. Drivers, Softwares, updated all of them, i keep doing everything. I know i am doing something wrong, but its hard to identify, spent like the entire night trying to make it. Can't i get a flashable zip for CMW instead or know that on which rom did the CWM selinux work on? This boot looping is now killing :fingers-crossed:
Finally, i found a way, thanks 4Shreyas for all the help. Gave me knowledge and helped me identify the errors.
I couldn't flash the rom or the cmw recvoery through the pc as the drivers for SP tools never worked on my Win 8.1 x64. Finally applied the stock jellybean file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160609 . It updated my CMW since that was the problem i was stuck in bootloop.
After that i flash the phone with my desired rom.
In the end, all good:laugh:

Cheers bro !!!! Yes getting MTK drivers in win 8 is a challenging task and as SELinux CWM recovery is concerned you can flash 4.3.x and 4.4.x roms . Google it , if any rom is available then use that recovery to flash those roms .
Enjoy !!

To Root the device you can first flash any custom recovery to your likings...!
Like CwM,Twrp,philz etc.
Flashing can be done via SP Flash tool or Fastboot mode but make sure the drivers are properly installed,if not then check in general forum.
Then, download su.zip and flash to root ur device.
For kitkat, you need to have stock partition layout or an extended one as kitkat.vold.fstab doesn't recognize the Internal SD card.
You need to have latest CWM ,Philz or TWRP with SE Linux support or just use one i.e mentioned in the kitkat rom thread.
Always proceed with a backup.
Press thanks if I helped you.

[COMPLETED][ROM][6.0.1] Unofficial Resurrection Remix 5.7.3 for Micromax Canvas L A1

Resurrection Remix 5.7.3 for Micromax Canvas L A108
This is the first ever custom rom developed for the Micromax Canvas L a108 phone that was released in the year 2014 and I definitely think that there are many people who are desperate to get a single custom ROM made for this phone as soon as possible because it has Android KitKat as the last update on this phone and the phone is now aging so to keep the support on I have ported this wonderful Resurrection Remix 5.7.3 for this phone
What's working
Everything that I have tested to my knowledge in the 7 days.
People can definitely post the comments regarding the performance and all other issues in the comments but I have just ported it from the excellent guide made by Ajit Guraya
Instruction to flash the custom ROM
1. make sure to make a nandroid backup before you start doing this because there is always a possibility that everything can go wrong,so it is better to have a backup
2.Boot into the custom recovery (CWM, TWRP, CTR, any other recovery )(the link of the TWRP recovery is now provided )
3.Do a complete clean wipe off the data, cache, system
4.Now head towards the location in which you have stored the file preferably in the SD card so that you don't lose that file while wiping off your data.
5.Now go to install the zip file of the ROM and then the Gapps package.
6.Now reboot.
Booting for the first time it will definitely take some time because install the required packages so wait for some minutes the phone will automatically boot and you will be guided through the initial settings
And voila! you have a brand new Android Marshmallow install on your Micromax Canvas A108
N.B-Installing custom rom you may feel that you have a very shortage of memory so please before doing this stuff you can always go to this thread mentioned below to increase your system partition to 5 GB instead of the normal 1.25 GB so that will get enough space for your applications
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/cwm-recovery-micromax-a108-l-t2867010
But remember if you use the CWM recovery mentioned in that forum then it is not compatible with the new Android Marshmallow custom ROM,What I am suggesting you to just use the EBR files to expand the storage only
Here is the download link for the custom ROM.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TE_MVmvIDqhM6o-pLN9-tg6t2m3MLc9S/view?usp=drivesdk
Now the TWRP recovery is completely fine and ready to be flashed
Download link-https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx7uPg_aat14ZFhJOTBKNGtpZklCWm5LQjUwdnc5UzlKbEtF/view?usp=drivesdk
Thank you master Pratik Rawat for your kind help in getting a TWRP recovery right.
Some notes:
1.Regarding the expansion of the storage if anybody wants to expand the storage with the help of the external SD card then I am sorry that it is not possible because it is a bug in the CyanogenMod 13 upon which our ROM is based do this is one of the prime feature of Android Marshmallow but I regret that is not possible due to the problem from the source.
2. If anybody wants to expand the internal storage then that is possible by the help of the EBR files mentioned in the another forums whose link is given in this post but I want to mention that that is not possible to flash by using the TWRP recovery because it is not having the flashable format so the users have to use the SP Flash tool in order to get that..
To flash TWRP recovery in phone I suggest to install the flashify after rooting the phone with the king root in the Android KitKat.
Please use to TWRP recovery mentioned in the forum instead of the CWM recovery that is mentioned in the another forum because only this recovery is compatible with the Android Kit Kat and above.
3. If any user faces the problem of wiped IMEI then you have to go back to the KitKat by using the format all + download option in the SP Flash tool and then use the MTK engineering mode to write the IMEI.
Update: regarding the Restoration of the IMEI master Pratik Rawat has deviced a method to flash the IMEI number for this everybody is required to flash the package using TWRP recovery after the installation of the custom ROM-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MXz_9T_ESUkSdE3eTuegndzyqjp1yEPS/view?usp=drivesdk
THEN AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION USERS CAN INSTALL THE CHAMELEON APP AND WRITE THEIR IMEI NUMBER EVEN ON THEIR NEW CUSTOM ROM.
The link to download the application-
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VP3y-xr1JpxQHbDVKvj9O_rpP5mF9RRl/view?usp=drivesdk
I hope for now this much of the information can be useful as of now and further more discussions will be happening as more people will be installing the rom and finding more doubts.
I will be more than happy to help.

If you try to install the custom ROM without having any custom recovery I mean you are trying to install with the stock recovery then you are going to get the same message because it will not allow any installation of foreign software into the mobile

That is the problem that I have mentioned in the main post that I don't have the recovery image with me at the current time because I have lost it and I am not able to do the same thing because my current PC is not taking the parameters correctly.
I need someone to do that for me as it is a very automated process so anyone can do that and see it.
Sorry for this lacunae in the post but at the current time I cannot do anything for the custom recovery for this phone but what I can guarantee you that this custom ROM is perfectly fine for this mobile because I am already use that with my previous custom recovery which I have lost now.

You can search for the easy magic philz touch recovery for mtk
You can follow the guide to make a custom recovery and you may be successful if you are lucky enough with your PC
@SanketMohapatra Where's the kernel source for this ROM (if it's available)?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus using XDA Labs

As a matter of fact I want to tell you that this phone is from the company Micromax which is known for its irregularity in releasing any of the resources for the developers I think it has never released the any kind of kernel sources for any devices just the company releases a phone and forgets about it
So the obvious answer is there is no sources available for this phone and just replaced all the files from the stock to port and the ROM is working
No recovery found
Sir

I know I am trying my best to upload a recovery as soon as possible but it is a kind a very difficult for me because I don't have the device now right now in my hand and I cannot test anything without a device and that I don't have a good PC now to get it done so please be very patient until and unless you get it by yourself or i do it

Don't worry I'll be coming back soon with TWRP recovery for this mobile because I have found out a way in which I can do that again so please be patient
Due to lack of the resources now I am not able to post recovery for mobile but I can give the link website in which there is a very good discussion about what to do and how to port recovery-
https://irisbuddies.blogspot.in/2016/03/how-to-port-philzctrcwmtwrp-recovery-to.html?m=1
But in case if you run into trouble no problem you can always come back to the original version by flashing this file (instruction mentioned in this files)

Good news! The TWRP recovery for this phone is now a work under progress so please be with us until and unless we release it
