I finally upgraded to 4.4.2 tonight and now a lot of the images in my gallery have the wrong thumbnail images. Is there a way to refresh this to get the correct thumbnails displaying?

About time Google fixed this stupid pix-elated contact picture sync, cant wait for ICS to come out even more after seeing all these bugs being addressed, Google FTW!!

Large photos
Android now supports high resolution photos for contacts. Now, when you push a photo into a contact record, the system processes it into both a 96x96 thumbnail (as it has previously) and a 256x256 "display photo" that's stored in a new file-based photo store (the exact dimensions that the system chooses may vary in the future). You can add a large photo to a contact by putting a large photo in the usual PHOTO column of a data row, which the system will then process into the appropriate thumbnail and display photo records.
Yeah its good to fix on this issue but it will be better to keep 512x512 display pic instead of 256x256

Agreed 512x512 would be better, at least its an improvement.

So in cm7 settings I chose to allow the use of the internal memory and then now all of my photos sort from: earliest -> latest.
All of the earliest photos show first and I have to swipe all the way back to get to the most recent photo. This happened on all of the folders in Gallery.
Any way to change the sort order?
i uploading a profile picture and it is not showing. i chose the picture file, and clicked save changes. it wont show. does it take time to take effect, or is it just an issue with the actual file i uploaded?
Profile pic is different from Avatar. You should upload it to the avatar!
Since the Oreo update, screenshots are automatically taken in JPG instead of PNG. Is there any way to go back to PNG screenshots?
For a web developer as I am this introduces a lot of problems when checking how a webpage renders (checking heights and colors).
I was one whole week thinking that "that strange pixel around buttons" was just an screen optimization made by Samsung to make webpages look more "edgy" similar to the video optimization...
Yes, damm you are right strange that they would change to a lossy compression instead of lossless one.. i will check the screencap file in a bit to see if you can change it.
I'm experiencing the same issue and it's intensely frustrating. I tried downloading a third party app to ensure screenshots are taken in png format, to no avail. Still saved them as jpgs.

I'm trying to set a generic contact image but cannot guess the right size so the images look pixelated or distorted. What are the right dimensions (and the resolution maybe?) for a contact profile image?
