cant enable hidden menu - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

trying to flash my verizon s3 but i cant get the hidden menu enabled for diag mode. when i type *#22745927 into the dialer nothing pops up. am i missing something?

i have same problem
i think in android 4.3 don't work it

Use Nova and add a activity shortcut to factory mode. It should work from there.

Go to about device .... tap on build number and it will open up developer options.

N8020 service code, hidden menu, debugging menu

Hi all:
I've been looking for a while for a secret code / menu which you type a number into dialer,
I've tried several of available ones of galaxy note I, but they don't seem to work, only few..
Can anyone please tell me how to get into the debugging mode ???? (I'm not talking about option- usb debugging)
Many thanks
if your device has been ROOTED, you can launch all secret codes. Install Shortcut Master app, go to menu 'Secret Code Explorer' and tap to launch it.

Developer tools(Enable again)

Don't know if this has been posted, but here we go.
The S4 does not give you developer options in settings, but you can view the settings via using apex launcher.
Go to home screen, tap and hold until "Add to Home screen" appears.
1. Select schorcuts.
2. Select Activities.
3. Scroll down to Settings.
4. Select Settings.
5. Scroll down to Developer options.
6. Select Developer options(.DevelopmentSettings).
And viola you have the developer options where you could enable usb debuging etc,
Regards
Just enable them by tapping build version 7 times..
Thanks for that did not know about that option

It's convenient.

How to close an app properly?

After using an app, what is the correct way of close/exiting it?
I usually just press the home key or back key on the S4 phone to close the app, not sure if it is really closed, or maybe still running at background.
Thanks

You are doing it properly. Also, in Settings, you can go to Developer options and select the option to kill a process as soon as it is left.
Don't forget to use the Thanks button!

" in Settings, you can go to Developer options and select the option to kill a process as soon as it is left." > Could you explain step by step where to find this? I am at the home page, I click the Menu button and click Settings, I did not see any developer options. Using Samsung S4.
Go to settings, tap "About phone" 7-8 times, and it will unlock the "Developer options" menu under Settings.
Then, to find the setting you are looking for, go to Settings > Developer options and scroll down until you see a setting called "Don't keep activities" which has a description saying "Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it"
I use a Sony Xperia so some of the terms may be different from your phone but basically that is what you have to do...

[FRP] ZTE Majesty Pro Z798BL FRP Bypass

(Sorry for the poor write up, it's basically notes from when I did this model quickly. If I get free time I will clean these steps up some so they are more clear and also get ahold of the handset and post additional methods/steps.)
There are multiple ways to do this bypass - here are just a few i came across freestyling. I'll document the others when i get time to lock up one of these phones again (it's a clients so dont have long with it)
1. talkback settings - This was already enabled for me and the chick that did it said she pressed home 3 times quick like on a iPhone. Not sure if that worked or not (i think shes mistaken). I didn't have time to go back and check. The manual and other info out there says to place two fingers on the screen and wait xx amount of seconds. Then talkback would be enabled. Well I have had this handset a handful of times since before this tutorial and i could NEVER get it into Accessibility.. Talkback enabled .. anything. So if someone knows the first step for sure then please post and i'll edit step.
2. help / about. search voice, click on subscribe out pops u to youtube
hit share and a: goto bluetooth and select device / pair mouthpiece or b: goto gmail and enter a email address hotmail or yahoo
3a: turn device off then back on and click till it beeps, say ok google next - enter search string settings hit enter.. goto the 3 lines on the left for settings, click settings and enable in apps boxes, also you could enable the bluetooth settings too but the most importabt thing here is the cards settings. enable these, next search for stock android and launch it. open settings and enable unknown sources, next open google chrome from the apps, search for sidebar apk, install next add these apps (i add all of them incase i need to get back somewhere.. not all are needed though) I add chrome, google, file manager, settings and stock android. next go back to settings then to apps and disable setup wizard and google account manager
3b: goto 3 dots - ? i forget this one so ignore until i remember. lol
3c: goto dialer
4. download dpc test manager 4.0.5 ? run this select device manager hit next then open, lastly goto developer settings oem unlock and usb debugging. goto backup/reset and reset phone. done
3d: (haven't finished) you need to put the phone into "Engineering Mode" first, by dialling *ZTE*OPENEM# (*983*673636#) -- this action will be confirmed by a quick pop-up. To close this mode, dial *ZTE*CLOSEEM# (*983*2567336#) -- this then prompts whether you want to do a Factory Reset, which you do not have to do (you can simply Back away from this screen).
(dont close mode)
go back to dialer and type *983*87274# USBSI USB Switch Test
enable mdm(modem)
-goto cmd, type adb shell content insert --uri content://settings/secure --bind name:s:user_setup_complete --bind value:s:1 (don't remember the outcome)
reboot?
3e: Open uni android tools (if you've got it) and navigate to > UNTESTED

It was very simple for me. For my Z798BL majesty pro i just held down two fingers on open screen till AccessibilityMode came on then swiped my finger from top left down to bottom right(an L shape) across the screen. That opened a menu so I tapped on TalkBack Options (to disable the TalkBack after the TalkBackOptions opened I held down the volume up and volume down Keys till it was disabled) then I scroll down to Help&Feedback clicked on Switch Access Mode question then scroll down to & tapped on the blue words "Turning on Bluetooth" then scroll all the way down to the bottom of that screen to "WasThisArticleHelpful" Yes or No? Tapped on NO, then I typed in anything in the box highlighted it and click on Assist that took me to the Google app then I typed in Chrome because it wouldn't let me download anything from the Google app so I went to the Chrome app then typed in "Test DPC 5.0.4 apk" then I downloaded the Test DCP APK then follow the instructions to install it including update phone's permissions to install unknown source. Clicked on setup new Divice Owner and followed those options til I was done(think just one or two more screens to click on "yes or continue" wasn't hard to figure out from there) when I was done with all that I tapped Back to the Google app typed in Settings clicked on phone settings scroll down to Backup&Reset clicked on reset device then erase everything then turned off my phone and restarted it. And that was it!

Google 2FA Recovery, black Screen. I can unlock S6 with keyboard. How activate ADB?

Hello,
I have a Samsung S6 with android 7.0 running on it. (latest stock firmware) The screen got cracked this week and the digitizer and OLED are not working anymore.
I've got some 2 FA keys in google authenticator that i did not backup. Now i know that i have to keep the QR code safely... but that is too late in this case. I don't want to buy a new screen...
I did manage to get a full backup of my phone by attaching a keyboard with an OTG cable. but this will not recover the 2FA keys in Google Authenticator.
How you can unlock your phone with a keyboard:
1. attach a keyboard with an OTG cable.
2. press the 'esc' button' and 'backspace' button
3. insert your password and press enter. You should hear the unlock sound. (you can unlock with the fingerpint from now on, if it was set)
I did activate developer options before but i disabled it when i'm not using it. So i have to activate it again.
I think i can enable Developer mode blindly by following these steps. The phone needs to be unlocked.
1. typ one letter. This will bring up google search. press backspace and delete (just to be sure it is blank). Now type 'Settings'
2. Press the down key once
3. Press enter
4. press the down key for 10 seconds (this should focus the item on the last option in the list, which is 'developer mode' )
5. press enter
6. press up once
7. press right once
8. enter
developer options should now be enabled.not sure how i can check this tho. I checked if my computer can find my phone. I can access the internal memory because the phone is unlocked.
i asume developer options is enabled... The next step is re-activating debugging mode in order to mirror the screen. But 'adb devices' does not show any device yet. This means 'debugging mode' is still deactivated.
So i'm trying to enable 'Debugging mode' within the 'developer options'.
I searched on youtube to see how the menu looks like in Android 7 on a S6 so i can figure out how many keys i need to press in order to re-activate USB debugging. But i seem to be stuck on this step.
My question: can somebody make screenshots or a video from a samsung S6 (with android 7.0) device with a keyboard attached that shows how many key presses are needed to activate USB debugging?
When i'm in the developer options menu i think i have to press 9 times down, hit enter, then press the right key once and then hit enter again.
Can someone confirm that this is correct?
The RSA keys for my pc were already accepted previously. so that should not be an issue. unless i hit the 'revoke keys' options by accident... (i hope not!)
if anyone knows an other way to activate USB debugging without erasing the whole phone, please tell me. I need access to my 2FA keys. :crying:
edit:
i'm not sure if the steps to enable Developer mode are working. I'm reproducing the steps on an old S5 phone. I now realize that there are internet suggestions when typing "Settings' on the S5 model. I need to press 4x down then enter. hmmm... These suggestions only pops up when wifi is enabled. I can ping my S6 phone. So WiFi is enabled on my broken s6.
---
It would be awesome if someone can record a video that shows me (and potentially others) how to install and run 'SideSync' through keystrokes. on an S6 with android 7.0. SideSync can then mirror and control the screen on a pc..
I'm going to try this blindly for now... fingers crossed
edit2: it seems that SideSync needs a code that is shown on the S6 screen. damn it. Searching for other solutions...
Kind Regards,
Vincent
