Instant voice to text - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Just installed Insert Coin but the voice to text seems different. I'm used to it popping up where the keyboard is and auto dictates what I say instantly. However, now it pops up a new window for voice to text. Any one know how I can get back the other way?

text message and privacy

I just received my inspire yesterday. First I should mention that the desire be other box defender case fit perfect. The big issue I have with this phone and text is even if the phone is security lock and screen lock, incoming text message is still displayed on the phone for everyone to see. I'm surprise that I'm the only one that finds this to be a big problem. I already search Google and crab about this issue and didn't find anything. As I'm typing this post have my screen went black
I use Handcent and it has an option in Notifcation settings to "Show when locked". Turn this off and the pop ups won't display when the screen's locked. I didn't use the stock messaging app as I've always loved Handcent. If you choose to use handcent, disable notifications in the stock messaging program all together
yeah use a3rd party mms app, such as handcent where you have more options and control about how your phone notifies you.

SMS Popup not working?!

Hands down two of my favorite android apps are GoSMS and SMS Pop-up. For some reason, I can't get SMS Pop-up to play a sound, turn on the screen, nothing basically.
Is it a compatibility issue with the Infuse? Every other phone I've used went silky smooth
nobody uses SMS Popup?
I use go sms and the pop up from go sms work perfectly.

GoSMS has a built in pop up window, why would you install the pop up app?

SMS Lag is pretty bad

When I have the little pink colored circle show up with the quantity of messages inside of it (1) (2) or whatever the number is, when I hit the messaging icon there is a delay and the phone lag's when it organizes the messages or brings the most recent one to the top.
I basically hit the messaging icon and it takes me to my messages but the phone takes a solid second to organize itself. Essentially the screen show's that no messages are new then it updates after a second and pushes the most recent to the top.
Is anyone else experiencing this? It's annoying as hell.
Also when I send a text, the revolving "please wait" circle is terrible. I am generally typing another text right after I send one, as weird as that sounds, and the "please wait" thing takes a solid second before you can start typing again.
Ouch you are serious? That was main reason I replaced my myTouch 4G and went to a stock android phone.
Actually, use another SMS client, i forget the name, Handcent SMS
I works same, and you won't have any of that lagg of "Please wait"

Can getting a text wake the lock screen?

I'm really really used to MIUI and other roms that will wake the phone to show me a preview of the text recieved, even if the phone is locked. I tried using MiLocker, and the screen doesn't wake, nor does the SMS icon show me a preview of the message.
I'd really just like the screen to wake when I get a text.
Can anyone help? TIA.
I don't think so. Handcent is always an option.

Yeah I would use it if it wasn't so damn ugly.
You can set the lock screen style to Productivity. This won't automatically turn on the screen, but it will show you incoming previews of SMS, as well as email, appointments and calls (you can turn off any of those you like).
Get an app called SMS pop up, its perfect!

Does Android have an elegant/intuitive messaging app with Emoji support? All of these messaging apps are so goddamned ugly... Even chompSMS isn't attractive to me anymore
Hey that Notifier Pro IS a really good app for those of us coming from the iPhone that liked the IOS pop ups on the screen.
I just DL'd the free version to try it out and with the screen off, if you get a message, text email ect, the screen turns on for a few seconds and you get a short banner type message with a contact pic. Pretty cool.

Using Google Voice.

So I'm trying to use Google Voice for my viocemails an so far its working fine. Now my question is, why are my incoming sms messages now going through to google voice and not my regular text app? The voice mails are coming in fine, I just don't care for the texting part. Anyway to stop this?

Go into options and there should be one for sms... Check use sms app our whatever it says... It's in sync and notifications in settings, you have to press "more" after pressing menu
Got it thanks man!
