[Q] Question about using Link2SD with ROEHSOFT RAM Expander - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys
I have Sony Xperia L - Jellybean 4.2.2 - 15.3.A.1.17 - Rooted Stock ROM - Locked Bootloader
I want to use Link2SD and ROEHSOFT RAM Expander, first I made all the steps to make Link2SD run correctly:
- from making a 2nd partition (EXT2)
- and creating mount scripts and so on
then It works perfectly, but I need to use ROEHSOFT RAM Expander also to increase my ram,
so is it preferred to make a 3rd partition to specialize it to make the swap file in it, to help in smooth performance? knowing that I have ( 32 G.B SD Card )
or I just select the 2nd partition ( Link2SD partition ) to make the swap file in it ??

Lenovo P780 Rooting & Link2sd

just want to share, I have found the fastest and I think best way of rooting Lenovo P780 pls check this Link http://www.android-root.com/index.htm, Now I can use Link2sd - but you have to partition first your SD Card using Minitool Partition Wizard, You have to make 2 partition - all Primary - FAT32 if you have 4GB SD card or Higher.
I think that the partition where do you want to move the apps in with link2sd would be better formatted in ext4 if the kernel supports it, on my xperia arc I found it slightly faster than fat32 with link2sd.

[Q] Micromax Unite 2 - Rooted and Internal SD card

Hi ,
I really need a help !! I bought the new Micromax Unite 2 A106 and some how with the help of XDA forum i successfully rooted (installed supersu from recovery - i flashed recovery with scatter some method found from the forum). Now i have few questions which really i am dying to know., please help me
I am using 8 GB SD card (Class 4)., partitioned as 1st partion FAT32 ~4GB and 2nd partion as EXT4 ~4GB
Questions:
1. From settings -> storage, my mobile is showing.
1.1 Internal Memory ( Total: 1.89 GB out which i almost used every thing)
1.2 External SD card (Total: ~4 GB)
1.3 Internal SD card (Total 1.97 GB out of which nothing is used)
My EXT4 memory is not show., But in Link2SD Storage-info it is show (also mounted some were on /data/sdxta2)
With out help of Link2SD, Before installing apps... In settings -> storage i selected "Internal SD" as default installation location. Tried to install many apps nothing goes into Internal SD memory (Total 1.97 still seems to be free) which is accessible from file explorer.
With help of Link2SD, created a mount script in EXT4 partion... After reboot Link2SD didn't give any error for mount script., In Link2SD created "link" for apps and it asks for a reboot.. after reboot., the app is not show in android., but i can see they have been linked /data/sdxta2.
I don't understand why linking apps disapper and why can't i use that Internal SD memory of ~ 1.97 GB for apps installation.
Thanks a ton guys !!! your help will save my Unite 2 & Me

note=after linking to fat32/fat secound partition by the remount link option in link2sd app u will be able to make/move system app to internal sd too or u can make it for external microsd card, along it uninstall unwanted apps n make some visual affects by making launcher n docks converted to system app and can remove the default launcher too i m using galaxy s5 launcher/docks and remember dont try if what u dont meant so for uninstalling
again thanks you,developer
Be sure what u doing it may brick ur fon coz warrenty voids after root u already knw this.

RAM memory swap kernel

hello
I am not really satisfied with RAM capacity my GT P3110 has, and I'd like to expand it. I am currently running latest Cyanogenmod (12.1) and I tried using link2sd and swapper apps to get RAM from my SD card, but every time I tried that, it said that my kernel does not support that function. I am wondering, which kernel do I have to use? and is it possible to swap SD card memory for RAM memory with stock rom/android or does it have to be one of the custom builds?
thanks in advance

[Completed] [Q] Modify Link2sd script to mount on third partition

Good evening XDA developers
I'm sorry if I am double posting or reposting same/related topic again but I swear I've searched the forum for week now but I cannot find the answer so I've decided to post a new thread to seek for a good help.
Here's the situation for you to completely understand my need,
I've got this Sony Xperia Ray (2011) - received from my brother because he bought a sony xperia Z3.
I've modified it and install Xperia Overlay rom on it. But as we all know, Xperia Ray had a very few internal memory. I've tried to install int2ext script on it and successfully got 1 gig internal device, but upon installation of apps from the playstore. I still got "insufficient storage" error though the phone still got a 500 mb free.
Now here's what I think will work, I think maybe I can use link2sd together with int2ext. but I cannot try because I'm not good at scripting.
I got this 32 gb microsd (class 10), I partitioned it this way:
1st: fat32 - 23gb - use as external sdcard
2nd: ext2 - 1gb - use for int2ext script
3rd: ext4 - 8gb - plan to use for link2sd
Problem is I cannot mount link2sd on the third partition, could you show me how to modify 11link2sd file to force it to mount the script on the third partition?
Thank you so much..
Hi there,
You can ask for help directly in the Link2SD official thread here:

How to make Samsung Galaxy Core 2 duos GT-I8262 Kernel Swap compatible?

Hii,
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy core 2 duos GT-i8262 android phone with the help of iROOT app. Kinguser app got installed automatically in my phone by default. (I haven't unlocked Bootloader yet).
My phone earlier had only 842 MB RAM. Now i want to increase it so that my phone doesn't lag in future. I have 32 GB memory card in my phone. When i tried ROEHSOFT Ram Expander (Free Version) in my phone, it said that "Your KERNEL is not Swap Compatible".
My kernel version is -
3.4.0-1574573-user
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Fri Sep 26 15:34:29
KST 2014
My questions are-
1. What do i do now ? How do i make my Kernel version SWAP Compatible to that i can get more ram?
2. I used LINK2SD app to transfer data to memory card but it showed me "SWAP partition no found" and "App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card." why is this?
3. When i try to install BuSYBOX and KERNEL Adiutor in my phone, it shows Insufficient Storage while i have almost 3.5GB left for application space. What could be the problem?
Please help me.
Hi ??..
First if you are using jelly bean (except monster rom) you can flash filth kernel then use RAMEXPANDER.
There is another app called SWAPER its good too (doesnt need a custom kernel).
But in every situations they can't give you a really big difference.
(My advice is if you want a very good performance you should buy ? a new phone ? wich has good specs and RAM) .
See this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../make-samsung-core-fast-hangfree-lag-t3242988
2. You can use "external to internal " app instead of " link2SD " IT WILL WORK.
(You need this app if 3.5 GB is not enough for your apps and data)
If you wanted to use watch this :
