The dual sim functionality in my XT1033 works perfect in CM11 (nightlies), but... I' missing the option where SMS and dialer can remember which SIM to use for a specific contact. Is that function hidden somewhere or is it not (yet) implemented?

Adding to that: if I recall correctly the stock rom had an option (in the mentioned apps) where one could indicate that one would want to have the app remember the sim choices.
Then, upon calling a contact one would have to choose sim1 or sim2, this dialog would have a checkbox indicating that this choice had to be rememberd for this specific contact.
Same doubt here. Tried to use some dialer apps, but w/out success.
CyanogenMod doesn't have this Smart SIM feature which is present in Stock ROM.

But, is it possible to add it? And who would be able to do so? Is it the app maintainer or is it in the specific rom?

Would it be possible to extract the dialer app from the stock rom and use that to restore this functionality?

I cannot find any Solution for this.
my problem, i have a Tchibo mobile Prepaid card on my Transformer. I will check my Status via USSD Codes, i have no Phone App visible in the Appdrawer.
On my Transformer with latest Stock ROM (9.2.2.4) with CWM and Root.
Please Help.
You can manually install phone.apk since you're root, you can rip it from one of the 3G roms in development if you like.
the Phone.apk is already present under /system/app
in the appdrawer i canot see the phone, i think this is deactivated by asus, how can i activate it.
No, reinstall it so it appears in the drawer xD is what I meant sorry
that did not work, damn.
if i will install the apk ... the system warn thats this is a system app, after click on install, the system say install failed without more information.
thanks for your help, have you any suggestions for my?

I have MMS.apk and mms.odex from stock ROM S5670XXKPY. I'd like to install it instead of MMS.apk CyanogenMod, but not know how. Please Help.I installed Officila Cyanogenmod 7 last build.
stock mms.apk cannot be installed on cm roms
I can't post in the development section so I post my problems here, sorry for that.
I flashed @Omar-Avelar's ROM over stock JB EU firmware but the 4.2 AOSP SMS app doesn't seem to be working for me. After I replaced it with deoxed Motorola's messaging.apk(deleted mms.apk and MmsDependencies.apk in /system/app/ in Omar ROM and set -rw-r--r--/644 permission for the newly copied Moto's messaging.apk at the same place) SMS could work again. Can anyone tell me whether my text messages were sent successfully according to the screenshot? Surely I never received any incoming messages as you see.
I really love the looking and some convenient features of the 4.2 AOSP SMS app but what should I do to have it work
BTW: In this ROM, Google voice search crashes when opened from either Google search widget or app drawer.
Screenshot doesn't show Motorola's SMS app...

Yes, screenshot in the OP shows what happened for the SMS app in Omar's ROM. Stock Motorola SMS app works like following screenshot:
I remember I get this one from you thanks by the way:laugh:

It's known issue. Some of people have problems with AOSP SMS app. If you read the whole thread with Omar's ROM you can find something about it. Nobody knows why does this problem appears.

Thanks for the information, I'll look further into it.
Has anyone got to the bottom of this yet? I have just installed Omar's latest ROM (3rd June) and I cannot receive texts. I tried installing shaftenberg's 'no limit' messaging mod instead but I cannot find the app - my old shortcut says app not installed and I cannot find it in launcher. The messaging.apk definitely exist because I can find it in root explorer or titanium backup. I know Omar gas hidden it somehow but nit sure how.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I really don't want to go back to the stock jb with moto blur. Thanks

You should have new shortcut in the list of apps. And try to search mms.apk or mmsdependencies.apk in your file explorer, that should be messaging .apk.
Hey there. I have two ROMs to boot in my Nexus 4: one is stock KitKat, my daily driver, the other is the MIUI v5 port for Nexus 4 (4.8.10)
The problem is that I have Whatsapp installed and activated in my KitKat, and activating it in MIUI would disable the app in KK. Is there a way to keep both activated, since both will live in the same phone under the same number? I search the forum and Google and found nothing about this, just how to activate two WA accounts in the same ROM.

I'm glad to hear that my friend, just reply if you need any other help
Short question: Does this also work for subsequent communications? Will they also alwas appear within both ROMs then?
And would Titanium Backup provide the same for SMS, dialer etc.?
My last question just got active again since I installed a 2nd ROM - anyone some idea?
I was disappointed with Google dialer, so can anyone find a way to port of MIUI one,or just apk that works..because there are apk's for messaging(doesn't even open UI) and contacts/phone(opens UI) app that work but force closes when you try to make a call.
Unlock bootloder and install fastboot indonesia ROM comes with Xiaomi dialer afaik
Flashing a different region of the ROM can potentially mess up your persist.img partition. I'd advise against it.

yea, im with you.. in the past i was "flash it root it guy", nowadays i don't have a reason to justify it... just want miui type dialer and messages... google one arent even black for gods sake.. usability whole another story..
I also hate Google Dialer. Ugly as hell and much to les possibilités to personalize. That for I installed "True Phone Dialer and Contacts".Way better but when a working Xiaomi.eu with Miui Dialer will be available I'll use that

Does the default google dialler for the Poco allow 2 party call recording? Xiaomi pushed some updates recently to some models to allow call recording.

Did you give the necessary permissions to True Phone? I think that might be the reason, as I don't have that problem. Just check that under Settings>Apps>Manage Apps>True Phone.
Hope that helps

Thank you. Tried this, still will not record the other side. Trying other apps. This is really bad because I make sure all my calls with state officials and merchants are recorded to avoid "Misunderstandings"

Hi,
also have the Mi9 with Global Rom 12.0.1.0(QFAEUXM) is there a way to flash the indonesian rom to get the Miui dailer and sms app and relock the bootloader after this. I don't like an unlocked bootloader because I play pokemon go that will not run with an unlocker bootloader
other question. Is it possible to remove the google dailer app with adb and install miui apk dailer app ?
Regards,
Frank

Flashing the indonesian rom to get the Miui dailer and sms app and relock the bootloader after is possible, but not advisable....something can get really bad and you can hard brick your phone. As I know (not sure, I'm not an expert ), you can relock the bootloader safely if you'll do it in the same region and MIUI version of the ROM (12.0.x.0 not 12.1.x.0 - Android 11) you used when you registered in Mi account for the first time and got the bootloader unlocked.
I have installed Simple dialer, however there is no possible way to answer calls as no interface appears during the receiving call, even tho ringtone is heard therefore I'm currently stuck with the Google dialer

All his posts sound like ads for another product and none actually a solution to an actual problem.
I too miss MIUI Dialer and Messenger.
Coming from Poco F1 to X3.
goodialer had only one thing useful, it displayed name of party calling even though i did not have party in my contacts, this was based probably on goo maps.
is there way to have such functionality in mi dialer?
I instaled the Magisk Module, it works, but when I do calls with Miui Dialer, it just appears the Google Dialer
