Hi,
Received my moto G lte a couple of day ago. Put in a 32GB sandisk SD card. The phone constantly hangs and reboot while an sd card is inserted. Works fine without.
Sometimes, going into the settings will cause the phone to hang, resulting in the message "settings quit responding". Anyone else facing this issue. i tried reformatting the sd card multiple times and performing a factory reset. Did I receive a defective phone?

Did you try a different SD card? Mine appears to be working fine with a 32GB samsung class 10 sd card...
Indeed you should try another brand AND possibly a class 6 card, as class 10 cards may have too slow access time. See here : forums DOT sandisk DOT com/t5/Mobile-memory-professional-cards/32GB-Class-10-Micro-SD-card-unexpectedly-removed-in-Android/td-p/292793/page/2
On my previous phone I had issues with a 32 GB class 10 SanDisk card. I then replaced it with a 16 GB class 6 Samsung card and it worked just fine.
Thanks I'll try a class 6 card.

I thought a class 10 was faster than a class 6.

If you refer to the link I gave, you can see that class 10 cards have faster read/write speeds BUT slower access times.
:crying:
I just bought one 32GB sandisk SD card class 10 for my s advance.
I hope it works "/
I'm using this card I picked up from Amazon for $18-----Samsung Electronics 32GB EVO Micro SDHC with Adapter Upto 48MB/s Class 10 Memory Card (MB-MP32DA/AM)---It's been working great, I have had too many problems in the last couple years with Sandisk cards so I switched to Samsung and have yet to have a problem or seen a speed below what they claim.
Sequential speed is indeed faster in class 10 but random read/write is slower by quite a bit.

bought a different card. class 4. all the issue seem to have resolved. Thanks all for all the help and guidance.
Format the SDCard with FAT32 format..
I have experienced troubles, depending on the particular card..

This is not at all true, I have no idea why you would think this?

class rating denotes sequential write speed.
there's a lot of class 10's that have the sequential speed but utter crap random access speed.
I'm not saying all class 10's are like that but there are a lot.
Probably true for some brands but not if others.

Hi,
I recently got a new HTC Vox however i am experiencing two particular problems.
1. My Vox does not seem to be recognizing any memory card i have tried. I have till now tried a Hama 4GB micro SDHC and a Sandisk 2GB micro SD card but to no avail.Do you know what the problem may be?
2. The second point is less urgent. When i switch on the phone i get a message informing me that my operator is not found in the database and that i should contact my operator. I am then directed to the connections screen.
If anyone could help m i would be very grateful
Thanks
1.That's strange not for the 4GB SDHC but more for the 2 GB SD. I'm using a 1GB sandisk premiere (or whatever it's called) and it is ok. I also tryaed a common SAndisk 2 GB (the cheapest one) and it worked.
2. DOn't worry about that it only means that your operator (GPRS/MMS settings could not be configured automatically because your operator's settings are not in the database of the phone. Only big carriers are pre configured in that database. If you want GPRS/MMS you should just do what you were used to do before...configure them manually
i see. thanks for that.
I'm beginning to worry that the phone itself is faulty!
if you don't mind me asking, what format did you use for the 2GB?
thanks
I Had the same problem , after my phone was in service for replacing the speakerphone, it did not recognise any memory card. I sent it back , and they replaced the motherboard.

thanks

no problem. FAT32
I have used a 4GB and a 8GB microSDHC card in my Vox without any problem.
If its not working in your phone then definitely its a problem with your device.
I suggest you try any other card(to rule out the remote possibility that your card is faulty), and if that does not help, you should take your device to the service centre.
hey,
Does the WIFI model have GPS?? On the samsung site it does list GPS, however I know with some tablets this is only with the 3G models.
Also, on the samsung site it states the tablet only supports upto 32GB microSD cards however on the forum i have noticed people are suing 64 GB microSd cards??
Thanks
Yes wifi model has gps. Works solid too. However if you plan to use it for navigation you will need a 3rd party app that allows for offline navigation. With a minor exception Google maps does not allow this, you can only precache like a 10 mile area around your destination.
Also I believe there was an update to allow 64GB cards to be used.
Thanks for the quick reply...now to buy it ....

No. One in tab, one via 30 pin in card reader.
I saw an earlier thread about the class 10 card having issues.
I was wondering if the class 6 card is fine then. seen a few on ebay.
I just got the RAZR HD LTE and looking at getting a microsd card for it, preferably the 64gb.
thanks

I have a class 10 32gb Patriot microSDHC in there and I have absolutely no issues with it. Class 6 should be fine too!
I have a 64 GB Sandisk MicroSDXC card and haven't had any issue. I supposed it's the way it's formatted?
I have a class 10 64 gb Sandisk SDXC and am using it with no issues. $60 at Microcenter.
Got my class 10 64gb card during the holidays for $40 from amazon. Pretty good prices today also. No issues at all. Ever.
Around $45 today.
One of the lucky few with good 64 gb sd cards or are people just panicking online?
I have not had any issues with my SanDisk class 10 64GB card in my RHD, just had to format the card. I bought this card from amazon in Oct for $44.

I bought a scan disk of Amazon and got it a week ago, I put it in my phone and formatted it. It seems to work fine, I also transfered about 20gigs worth of stuff from my computer to the new card. So far so good.

From what I understand the problem was with 32gig class 10 Micro SD cards on windows 7 and a few specific android devices and did not blanket a large selection.
I only have a 8 gig class 4 in mine for the moment, but I doubt you'll have problems with a 64gig class 10.
So, maybe I'm the only one with issues? My SD card will work fine for days at the moment. However, when I start downloading multiple torrents at a time on my phone, my phone would no longer see my SD card after awhile.
Previous setup: 64GB microSD formatted as FAT32. After awhile, my card would stop working properly and I'd have tons of corrupt files. Even files I had not touched.
Current setup: 64GB microSD formatted as NTFS (mounted using Paragon NTFS & HFS+). Card would still crap out if I downloaded multiple torrents. Seems more stable when I have one active torrent at a time. But now, when my card craps out, my files are still good and my filesystem is intact.
I have been using my 64gb microsd for months now no problems...
if this problem only happens when you download with that program you may want to check on a different program to download your torrents, is that app may have issues with that size SD card and continuous writing.
I had a 32Gb sd and some day i unplug the RHD from my laptop and puff Sd card broke, and now w7 did not recogniz it, I'll try with linux this night

64GB cards are working just fine in the xt925, and you don't need root to use them.

Really? I used to have it formatted as exFAT at first, now I use it as Fat32 but it worked just as fine either way.
I wish the 64s were cheaper. I'm going to find one this black Friday. Then bittorrent like a mofo. Jk.

Will my m8 be able to handle this card? I have it in my n3 and want to put it in my m8.
The m8 is compatible with SD cards up to 128gigs. I have my SanDisk 64gb class 10 working fine. Apparently people are having since issues with moving deleting files from the phone but for my use it works fine.

I unmounted it from my n3 an sad put it in the m8 and it was reading a blank card
Hello,
Sorry for my poor english below.
I have a Moto 4G (XT1039) with Android 5.1 (patch level 2016-04-01).
I used it with no particular problem for several months with a MicroSD 64GB Samsung Evo. In recent days, the MicroSD is no longer visible on my phone (menus on the SD card in gray and space for this card in "Settings / Storage" has disapeared). Several reboots the phone after removing and re-inserting the card have brought nothing and "Wipe Cache Partition" brought nothing to the problem.
Can you tell me how to explore the problem a little more? FYI, I have a 2nd Moto 4G with the same version of Android and the same SD card that works well. I can maybe share SD cards to identify whether the problem comes from the card or phone but I am afraid to corrupt my 2nd phone or my second SD card.
What do you suggest me?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Gigi
Hi,
No matter if you don't want to corrupt your other card, you have to do some tests.
So, you can test your possibly wrong card in your other phone or with a computer and, depending of results, testing your good card in the possibly defective phone, that's all...
