Hi everyone,
I just got my sw2 today, really impressed with it.
Can anyone recommend some good apps for it?

As with most things you will install everything that is available, I only ended up with one third party application, that's watchify

watchify is the priority,it's everything you need on a smartwatch, giving you the access of all your notification
Then you can download watchwidgets to costumize your watchface, and finaly all the other app,if you want
i too got one of this but this not that what i was thinking
Thanks for your replies. Watchify is excellent and am now randomly trying out other apps

For me Watchify is not stable and not respect the normal Sony notification system. I use the standard "Watchit"
and more others app : evernote, google task, any.do, K9 mail notifier, Lunar phase, SMS writer, counter, Cyanax Hiit, app launcher, tasker, call handling, currency converter, shopping list, smartweather, note writer, swp music player, and a lot of widgets and watchface app.

I'm looking for an app to simply switch bettween the last two oppened apps with a gesture /swipe, blackberry playbook like.
To optimize my workflow, one app read the ebook, second app write down notes.
I want it this way because the multiwindows are too small for me to work effective.
Just thought I'd let you folks know about Contacts+ , the contacts app I'm using on my stock now.
It is totally packed with features (chiefly, integration with social networks, WhatsApp integration and smart ordering), looks absolutely lovely, and just elevates the Android experience when using a smartphone.
As an added bonus, it pimps out your SMS and call log appearance and functionality as well.

I've tried it before. It works good with finding contact information in notes but I haven't used the apk in forever.
I hate to be a troll but you posted in the wrong section. Lol.

Why you want to use the Apk ??

So... I just got the Nexus 5 a couple of days ago. I love the phone.
But... I really do not like Hangouts. I use WhatsApp, and sometimes SMS. But I do not like Hangouts for SMS. Is there a way to install the SMS app from the Nexus 4? Like a AOSP version? If so... where can I find the app?
Thanks.
I use 8sms. It looks like the AOSP SMS app but adds a couple nice features, like the option for a popup when you receive a SMS. I set it as default messaging app and it works perfectly.

I just tried the 8sms app. You will probably call me crazy, but I didn't like it for one reason. The icon. Ughh.

I built Mms.apk from aosp 4.4.2 today because I don't want to use Hangouts. I don't have carrier service so I'm not sure it will even work properly. If someone could test it that would be very cool. And maybe you'll get the app you're looking for.

Perfect!! Thank you very much!!!
:good::good::good:
Here's the MMS.apk from Purity Rom, it has more options like full timestamps and quick reply.
I think 8Sms is a better idea than using the messaging app compiled from source, because 8sms is the same thing, but constant bug fixes that are released through Google Play...which I find better.
works in nexus 5 kk 4.4.4

So I'm looking into buying my first smartwatch and the Sony smartwatch 1 is only 90 bucks but I was wondering if you guys know it will work with this phone. Specifically android 4.4 if you have this accessory and can help me that'd be great. Thanks

Yes it will

Yeah but Sony smart watches suck. I got the sw2 for free (I review products) and I stopped using it after writing the review.
Primary reasons:
Poor screen res
Lack of useful apps
Doesn't always notify when getting a call/text/etc
Have to install Sony app that has hidden data collection defaulted to on
Have to install an app for everything (an app for text notifications, an app for phone notifications, etc)
No built in speaker/mic
No camera and camera control app isn't that useful
And finally
Periodically enters low power mode and stops updating the time. That's right. It doesn't even do that properly.
Also newegg often sells them for 69.99 so 90 seems high.
Edit : forgot that exchange notification app is only compatible with Sony phones

Does anyone know what shift worker app is the best on the android market? I rely on these apps to plan my months and the one I used to use on my iPhone doesn't appear to be available. Any help would be really appreciated!!

I just bit the bullet and entered all my shifts into Google Calendar. My shift pattern repeats after 10 weeks, so although it took me a little while to get those first ten entered, the "repeat every xx...." function in Calendar means I never have to mess around with it again.
Also, having it in my calendar means that Google Now can give me reminders when to leave for work early if, for instance, the traffic is bad that day.
Plus, if I ever move away from Android (unlikely) then my Calendar can come with me, no issues - rather than facing the same problem which you have now.
To actually display my calendar I like Calendar Pad's widget. Also I have Calendar Status Pro in my notification shade, which is handy because I have a constant reminder of calendar appointments every time I pull down the shade.
I'm always interested in trying out new solutions if they can provide better functionality though, so I'd be interested to hear what other people use too
That's an idea I had already contemplated but my shifts change every 5 weeks. I used an app on the iPhone called 'Shift worker' made by a company called production shed. I've emailed them to see if they have the same app available for android but I highly doubt it! Shame a dev couldn't come up with something that we could really make great use of! All the apps I've saw just look mega complicated. Might need to resort to Google calendar though and integrate it with Google now.

Arbeitskalender is also a good app. You can find it in PlayStore. I am sorry, I don't have the link right now.

I use fire shifts calendar. Its got quite a few different shift rotations that work for just about any fire/ems shift rotation I've seen. Plus its free.
