OK, my problem is I can't decide what ROM is best for me, And I'd rather not spend time trying them all out when I have all you beautiful people who can give me their input. The two ROMs I've used are cm10 and liquid smooth. The issue is though cm10 hasn't had any real bugs for me yet, it isn't as fast or smooth as liquid smooth is. But liquid smooth although faster, seemed to be a bit more buggy. So I'm looking for a ROM that's stabile and not too buggy' but is also smooth and fast. I don't need a ton of customization but a small to decent amount would be nice and a few nice features wouldn't hurt but neither of those are necessary. . What ROMs would you guys suggest for me and if possible why. Thanks ahead of time.

I suggest Cromi. Plain and simple. It has its small bugs of course, considering it is based upon stock. However, the support for it is fantastic and it comes with many options. I am looking forward to 4.2.1. The tf300 got the option to switch between layouts of 4.1 and 4.2 and I think that is great of ASUS to come out with, and when ASUS released 4.2.1 for the TF700, I am sure sbdags will keep that implemented. With 4.2.1 I am sure will come some more smoothness and stability. CM is smooth, but does not seem as fast as Cromi. It also depends on the launcher and settings you have.

There is no "best" per say. Each has its ups and downs. I however prefer Cromi over other because it is stocked based and it still has the 4.1.1 tablet UI. Also, since Cromi has the most users, feedback and stability will be best. It is a matter of your choice in the end. Just try it out, you can always nandroid backup your current and try out others.
However, 3.4.5 just came out and I would wait. I personally am experiencing problems ATM and trying to figure it out. Problem currently (March 21 2013) seems to revolve around the new Cromi Boot Logo. So when in options just choose the Stock or Nexus 7 Boot logo instead.

Hi, which. Rom would you guys recommend for gaming? I am on cromi. (Not updated it like 1.5 months) and performance is really bad even after a clean flash. Tell me recommended rom and it's settings(dpi, kernel, odex deodex etc.) please. Keyboard lagging, browser lagging, games are lagging...

Update to CromiX RC2, it has improved a lot, but more then likely the game lag will not disappear.

You can install new CROMi-X RC2 realease, but it hasn't really reached its maximum possible performance. You may want to consider waiting some time for more tweakable releases. Hund's kernel should also improve before it reaches its maximum potential
If you're really looking for a high performance right now, consider installing latest 4.1 CROMi, and then applying lucius.zen's tweak guide, as it gets the **** out of your tf700. Right now, it really kicks ass, is more stable and tweaked than CROMi-X.
imho, in terms of gaming and multitasking, optimized 4.1 is way better than Xenogenesis. If you don't mind spending some time on applying these genius tips written by lucius.zen, then try it out!
Have been using CROMi ever since 3.4.4 and the performance on this thing is uncomparable to stock. As far as gaming, I would say it is somewhat better than before I switched but there is still some lag. The biggest tweak I make is switching it to performance mode. As the previous reply said, there are tweaks where you can overclock the $h1t out of your tab and gaming performance may improve, but you should not be having performance issues with other things such as browsing, etc. I am on the RC2-X now and the browsing absolutely flies on stock browser, and anything other than gaming is just flush, no hesitancy. However, when it comes to gaming, I still get some lag. Ravensword does not give me any issues, and neither does Arcane legends, but MC4 and RR3 (both sideloaded) give me some problems. Maybe try a factory reset w/ clean install of new CROMi and see if it improves. If you would rather wait on the final release of 4.3 (not the release candidate), pretty sure it will be up within 24 hours.
So I flashed latest cromi x, and as you guys said stock browser is awesome, gaming is much good, I mean I was lagging on temple run etc, but now its better. So thanks for your advices. And 4.2 has some new features I liked them

That's great. Many fixes were brought with 4.2.1, but new bugs were also created. Did you dirty flash CromiX or did perform a clean flash? Also, performance will increase as the kernal and rom exits beta/RC stage. I am also excited for Hundsbuah to get his oc kernal fixed. With 3.0.2 I could get a 6800 Quadrant which is outstanding, to me anyways . But his bluetooth part of the kernal is messed up some.

I'm a noob, but I was really impressed with Bryce kernel's performance when flashed on top of CM10.1. One of the best parts of owning a device with developer support is watching it get faster and faster as it ages.
Would definitely recommend clean install for maximized performance. If you did not clean install and you are happy, you will be ecstatic with clean install.

Cromi-x 5.1.1 is really smooth an with hunds you can control everything (gpu and cpu) so i would think its really good for gaming. But i don't play many heavy games.

Not that I really think it's necessary because sdbags did one hell of a job here, but I am just really interested to see what you have done to make your TF700 more to your liking

I think you hit it on the head. @sbdags has already got ALL the known tricks in his ROM. He is diligent about finding new tweaks and incorporating any and all stable performance enhancements known so users don't have to "tweak" anything. As I understand it, its fully optimized and ready for the race track right out of the box. He's already planning to incorporate my multi-browser script if its not in there already. The warranty period is painful when talking about CROMIX. I can't wait to try it.

It is perfect to me too, but I can't stop reading about people who tweak it to the max with Pimp my Rom, System Tuner, etc.
And I was wondering: does that even still have effect? Because it seems like it could only do more harm than good, considering the default set-up by sdbags
The only thing that could make my tf700 more perfect is faster browsing. Don't know why, but sometimes it hangs (not only during downloads) and sometimes it's blazing fast. And it doesn't have anything to do with my wifi at home, because that is probably the best Internet connection you could get in my village lol
Think that Lucius Zens guide covers all tweaks really well. Have a look for it

Yea, he's already got my browser2ram script incorporated for 4 browsers (stock, naked, firefox, chrome). My final release is out with support for a total of 14 browsers (only if they are installed) with a unmount script available to unload them too so if you wanted you could run my unmount_all script then my autostart4 script to enable supporting 10 more browsers but the 4 you already have wouldn't be any faster.
Hangs you say? I've never had that happen on stock ROM. Maybe the browser is getting shut down by OOM due to lack of memory? You might want to check your OOM settings and possibly try increasing the content providers cache to between 96 and 192MB in System Tuner memory tweaks OOM tab using the aggressive or very aggressive presets but there are some more advanced users here on XDA that disagree with me (and System Tuner) on this tweak. If you do this don't set it in boot settings before you test drive the new settings or you could get yourself in a boot loop if it goes wrong. If it works out, then set it complete on boot to autoload the new settings. I'm running my own settings, somewhere in between aggressive and very aggressive on stock ROM with good performance and no issues.

I have 10 browsers in the current script. Where can I see the list of your browsers so I can see what I am missing? Stock browser is yet to be beaten in my opinion. The only one close enough is dolphin.

What are the default OOM settings you are using in your ROM?
Was wondering what Kernel everyone was using, and what is recommended? A few days ago I installed ChromiX 4.5 for the first time ever using a ROM. It works great, and im about to try upgrading to ChromiX 4.6.1. I used _that/ stock modded kernel variant based from ASUS Stock.
My other question is flashing a MOD of 4.6.1 over top of 4.5. Do i have to wipe my tablet and then install every app again? When I flashed 4.5, it was over stock and all my apps were saved when ChromiX loaded

You can dirty flash 4.6.1 over 4.5 - no problem there.
I personally think that _that's kernels are the most stable and that's what I'm looking for - no pun intended
A lot of users tried and liked Max's kernel, but I have no personal experience with it.

I agree. If you want stability either use my stock based or the more tweaked _that's kernel as your base. Max and Hunds whilst quick also sacrifice some stability.

I felt the same until this tablet. The xda community really makes android stand apart.
Also if you feel like you might want a bit more Max Kernel v3, is very stable for me giving me incredible speeds. Is just a simple flash via twrp, make a nandroid and try it?

Maxkernel runs well but I would not put it out there just yet as it is not liking 32 or 64 GB Micro SD cards and is tending to wiping them. The issue is being worked on though.

I've been using Hunds Kernal for a while and its great. Better yet is the options now to incorporate CPU/GPU Clocks of your own into the Asus Power Bar via his app. I like just a little bit more power especially on the GPU as needed and it provides that, as well has the Data2SD capabilities.
Any way to get hybrid or pie on it, or is that aokp only?

You could try PIE controls through the LMT app found in the xda forums somewhere. It works fine, but I just haven't really found any practical use for it

I know what you mean about browser lag. It's been a problem from day one. I changed the net core memory settings in system tuner memory tweaks to 1.5mb instead of 1 and all my browsers run faster. Even the stock one.

I used lagfix premium for several months to overcome the lag despite installing Cromi-x, and recently I discovered the application "Seeder" I find is much more fluid tablet.
So I would like to know if anyone has used the application seeder on his tablet and what he thinks?
FYI, I am under Cromi-x 5.2.4 / _that V7
I have used seeder in the past and it does make a difference on our tf700s, but if you want even better performance uninstall seeder and us crossbreeder. crossbreeder is a flashable rom found at at thread here at xda. crossbreeder has a component like seeder, but better as well as many other performance enhansing components.

I have been using it and seem a little smoother but the speed is a bit slower with the seeder in use.. I believed that the binary random generator is not meant for the tf700t tablet..
In theory, our tf700t does not use the random available. However, it does seem to improve the smoothness in transition when it is in use...

Thank you to you both for your answers, I also saw Crossbreeder but I find it more binding to use so I would see her later, because at the moment I'm Satisfied with SEEDER and I really see a difference in fluidity of the tablet since I use it

CM10.2 has been the best for me. But I would like something with more customisations. I'm recently trying PA multi window. Seems OK so far but I'm thinking of going back to CM 10.2.
As for the other ROMs: cromi is good at first but since it is based on stock it starts to develop lag issues, CM11 is kinda buggy as of now, Omni is plain and simple so it doesn't have any customizations other that the multiwindow stuff which is kinda buggy as well with some force closes, CMB is a good ROM if you like the "dark side" lol but it has the same issues as CM11, and PAC is a great ROM unfortunately the AOKP side of the ROM is what causes issues so it ends up having force closes.
I assume you are new to this tablet, so I hope this helps.

I don't suggest using any task managers. First of all, task managers kill processes (apps), they do not close the application correctly. This can cause further system issues. I've had experience with them with my previous devices. Yes, they improve performance, but after several uses (weeks/months) the system might have force closes and/or boot loops. Hope this helps

Does the Android low memory killer do anything special before killing processes?
If you mean the background process limiter in developer options then that's OK.

I was talking specifically about Android's low memory killer (in the kernel), because I don't see it doing anything else than killing processes without notification, just as the task managers you are warning about.
clean master is not a task manager, it does the same thing as android's running tab in settings. Just in a more user friendly interface, and with one click.
