Hello, am was wondering if there is a Custom Rom for Android Phones with the 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589T processor.
I use a Tecno Phantom A3.The device shipped with 1gb of ram and Android 4.22.Am sick of Jellybean.I tried intalling cyanogenmod but it says my Device is not supported. Please help. Thanks
Hi @donniemceduns
I can't seem to find a 4.4 Build that is compatible with your device specifically. I have however found a thread which has Kernels compatible with Kitkat. ( Kernel 3.4.67 ) - Source is also released. Also found this: complete MTK6589 source code is released!.
I would think that you could build your own Cyanogenmod 11 using these guides:
[GUIDE] Compile CM from source, source basics & FAQ - Very detailed
How To Port CyanogenMod Android To Your Own Device
On a side note, it is definitely possible, 4.4 was released for the following MTK6589(T) devices:
Lenovo S939 = MT6592 (Received)
Lenovo S930 = MT6582 (Received)
Lenovo S820 = MT6589 (Received)
Lenovo S920 = MT6589 (Received)
Lenovo S960 = MT6589T (Received)
Cheers!

Hi Rvrjei,
Yes you can use a prebuilt stock kernel with some modifications to run CM on your device.
I've done a quick search on Github for your chipset and found quite a few hits, check it out!

Hi !
Elephone want help of developpers, for working on android source code for recents MTK socs, because Mediatek source isn't open to the public, and Elephone want port Android 5.1 on them devices (and CyanogenMod, Miui...), and release the source code for the public.
Elephone said:
Glad to know Android 5.1 is released. We'd like our customers to get the lastest update on their phones. However, we understand that there're a few developers working on MTK devices because the source isn't open to the public. It's tough to work it out without the source code.
So we want some of the best developers to help us out, and the payment will be substaintial and favorable.
We need Android 5.1 ROM for the following Soc:
MTK 6582
MTK 6592
MTK 6732
MTK 6735
MTK 6752
MTK 6753
MTK 6795
If you dare to accept the challenge, please tell me your experience and send me the works you've done before. Email: [email protected] or send me PM.
If you don't know ROM development, you could still help us spread the message in the Android developer forums, so that you may experience Android 5.1 ASAP.

Very good news for us, and users of MTK socs on smartphones !
Hello ,
I'm trying to port kernel sources to a Coolpad Note 6 device. The device sources are completely closed source and the manufacturer is chineese, and probably won't release any sources in future.
I followed through @ataberkozen's tutorial here on how to port qcom kernel sources. But I'm stuck at identifying hardware, and finding drivers for my device. The compiling the kernel section also seems incomplete.
Can someone please help me / guide me in the right path to port a kernel to my device?
