[Q] [Venom ViperXL 4.2.0] Incoming call screen turn off - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi,
I have ViperXL 4.2 installed on my HTC One XL.
The problem I have is that when a call comes, the incoming call screen cannot be turned off without rejecting the call. i.e. I want to be able to turn off and lock the screen and let the call ring out instead of hanging up. Pressing the power button when the call comes only rejects the call (Even though "Power button ends call" setting has been disabled) Pressing volume buttons either stops the ringing or stops vibrating.
I don't want to install 3rd party Caller ID/dialer apps since it ruins the whole Sense experience. I infact tried installing some dialer apps and they didn't work.
Please help me how I can solve this the best way.

What I'm describing is the default behaviour of Sense based ROMs. So, re-flashing wouldn't help I think.

If it is indeed the default behavior, there isn't really a great deal you can do. It's hard-coded into the ROM when it leaves HTC.

[BUMP] Any solution on the new Liberty Sense6 ROM?
Hi,
Just bumping up the thread to see if there are any solutions in the new Sense 6 ROM that has surfaced?
Also, I'm very surprised how other people on this forum don't seem to be concerned with this. Don't you guys ever need to ignore a call without disconnecting?
Hoping I can find a solution.

Sense 6 is a work in progress. Honestly, just wait for more Sense 6 ROMs to come with more developers and they'll have it fixed soon
Sense 6 was never meant to be on this device, thus the WiFi issue is not as big as you might think

Removing the Sense incoming call screen???

How would I achieve this? Im fully rooted running the Sprint lovers rom. I have a custom font flashed along with my lcd density modified. The combo of the 2 makes the Sense bar look horrible. I managed to delete the sense lockscreen and it automaticly reverted to the vanilla one which is what I want. Can some one please help me to achieve this outcome on the incoming call screen. It is the only thing between me and having my Evo the way I want it.

From what I understand, I don't think it can be done. I would LOVE if there was a way to do this but I believe it is coded into the framework and it can't be removed. That's my understanding of it. Too bad
That would be good... if its possible JS would prolly be the 1 to figure it out....

Not possible with sense..the lock screen can be changed to the aosp lock screen but that doesn't remove the Htc incoming lock screen, its tied to the dialer

speaking of the sense incoming call screen, how many other people have the problem where maybe 20% of the time the screen won't respond to input and allow you to unlock or answer the call? This is pretty much the only thing that ever goes wrong with my phone lol. I end up having to just hit the power button, miss the call, and then call them back...a little annoying

I have the same issue. One of the only issues I have with my phone. The other being sliding out of my pocket answers/declines calls. Thus looking for a way to remove the slider. Guess we are stuck.
^^^ I have the same problem... doesnt happen too often, but it is annoying. Could this be due to a phone call coming in when CPU is running at a minimun setting?

[Q] unity lock screen issues?

just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the unity lock screen when answering phone calls? I have the inspire with the latest unity rom and for some reason when i get phone calls the lock screen doesnt show up? its as if i already answered it but its still ringing and i have to end the call and then call them back
any suggestions on what might cause/fix this would be greatly appreciated as this is very irritating!
Are you saying that you don't have the answer call button showing, just the end call button? If that is what you are referring to do you also have the application from the market called No Lock on your phone? I had a similar problem and I traced it back to an incompatibility with that application on the VU rom. It messed up the system. It sounds like you might be describing a similar situation. It could be that app or another similar app.
Well the whole lock screen doesn't appear when I'm getting a phone call, I can't answer or decline it, its as if I have answered the call but its still ringing, ill take a screenshot if i can next time it happens..
Also I have go launcher installed and discovered that sometimes when i clear that as the default homescreen it resolves this, could be a similar incompatibility maybe? That's the only thing I can think of but i don't know why that would cause it

oh and also i have an app called proximity screen off so i can turn the screen off with the proximity sensor, not sure if that has anything to do with it but figured its worth mentioning
It might be. I have found that certain apps that I used to use do not behave well with Sense 3.0 roms. The only way that I found out which ones was to do a fresh install and then install one at a time and see what happens after they have been installed for a while. It was a pain but I was able to figure out a few apps which screwed up the system.
Turns out to have been the proximity screen off app

Can you make the screen 'unsensitive' on incoming calls?

What I'll often find happening with my HTC Desire S is that I receive a call on the phone, and as I'm rushing to get it out of my pocket I'm accidentally managing to swipe the screen, which rejects or accepts the call, when I didn't want to.
What's the best way to avoid this, given that I want to keep my phone in my pocket? I'd kind of like the screen to remain disabled when a call is being received until I press the power button at which point it becomes sensitive. Is there a way to do this or something which would avoid this accidental accept/reject of calls?
Is there anything built into Android that would allow this? An app? Or would it require development of a new app to get this kind of functionality?

i had the same problem on sense 2.1 lockscreen
try using the sense 3.0 lockscreen, i haven't had this problem on this lockscreen
a) How do I switch to the 3.0 lockscreen?
b) Why doesn't this problem occur with it; how is the design better?

a)you need to s-off then ROOT
then you can install a custom ROM with 3.0lockscreen(LBC mod or virtuous unity ROM) or just apply the lock screen from this thread
b)in the new lock screen you need to drag & drop the button in the ring so it doesnt get activated when you take the phone out of your pocket

[Q] Desire on non sense rom and few questions

I got HTC Desire and on Oxygen rom and I got few questions regarding stock gingerbread experience and hoping people come across work around for annoyances I'm having. I know some of questions are better suited for specific forum for applications but I just want to throw everything out here and see if anyone knows.
1. Miss call notification it's driving me nuts. I use "Go Contacts" because of T9 search. In notification I press miss call person and it still stays in notification. I remember reading in the past developers can't get rid of it with some reason due to gingerbread change. Anyone got work around for this without solution being use stock caller?
2. I'm using LauncherPro's bottom icon notification feature for miss calls/sms. Only problem is I press calls and it still say I got miss calls with whatever number miss call I got unless I press on the number I miss called. How can I make it so I can get rid of notification of LauncherPro when I press phone contact button or something?
3. I use Handcent and it has great feature of changing LED light into blue and it makes so it much easier to know when I got sms even when charging. I'm not sure if it's because I use Full Screen Caller ID or I pressed LED root feature where I can change colour to what ever I want but it just doesn't work any more even after I disabled LED root feature.
Because of it I'm thinking maybe use separate app for notification or something if they exist?
Many thanks in advance and let me know if anyone have better way of handle miss call notification issue!
I have HTC Desire S, used all kinds of dialer apps and had the same unread-count problem.
However, after I changed my original ROM to LBA (and also changed the launched to GO Launcher so it might also be related) - it was fixed!
I don't know how, but it's working fine now.

[Q] Nexus 5 incoming call screen gets me stuck

earched Google all over and couldn't find a solution for this. When I get an incoming call on my nexus 5, half of the screen goes black, and the main buttons disappear, and I can't do anything with the status bar. Basically, I can't do anything besides answer, hang up or text. Only after I answer the functionality returns. It's really annoying when I'm in the middle of something and than someone calls and I can't just ignore it, I have to wait until the caller hangs up (and then usually he will call again). The half black screen also bothers me but it's not the real problem, I just guess it's part of the bug. I tried using 3rd party apps for incoming calls but they don't solve this problem. This is how it looks like (I can't post a picture so copy the link):

I'm surprised I didn't find a solution because it's a very annoying problem and I don't think it only happens to me. I'll be glad if you know how to fix this. Thanks

That's exactly how its meant to be. If you flash a ROM like omni you can get a less intrusive dialer that looks something like this:
http://omnirom.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/UnobtrusiveCallNotify.png
If you've never installed a ROM before there are loads of tutorials to get you started, just don't take any shortcuts (like toolkits!)

But wouldn't flashing the device prevent me from upgrading my android version? I mean, one of the advantages in nexus is that it gets more upgrades and sooner than everybody else, isn't it?

most custom roms get updated even before an ota is out. once google drops source into aosp, that day or next, most custom roms update. sometimes this happens a week before otas go out, sometimes its about the same time.

have u tried one of the full screen caller id apps ?
I tried this one on my Moto G with Android 4.3.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tw.nicky.HDCallerID
see if it works for your phone.
same problem here, thanks god i'm not alone! I simply don't get why on incoming calls i cant hit the home button and go back on my stuff!!! annoying. hope in a solution, had tried many apps but didn't find the right one
I have the same problem in the last month I had this issue 5 or 6 times until now...any idea besides installing a custom ROM?
Similar problem here.
I have a similar problem. No black screen but I can't do anything and the nav bar disappears. N5 with 4.4.4 stock, Franco Kernel, root, xposed Framework. I found out that other phones have the same problem and in a moto x thread I found a thread that perfectly matches my problem.
I think it's an android bug.. like a file system or something.. not related to any customization.
