[Q] [CM11 + Nova Launcher] Options for Touch Buttons - HTC Desire S

Hello!
I installed the latest nightly of cm11 which is offered in this forum. Before then i used the cm10.1-andromadus-rom. I had always good experience with the Nova Launcher, so i plan to stay with it. On cm10.1 i used to assign "Long-Press Menu Button" -> App Overview. I think I managed that through the Nova Launcher options. Obviously since cm11 (or kitkat? – i don’t know) there are similar options under "Settings -> device -> buttons". Now there are two problems:
1. Settings for buttons made in Nova Launcher arent’t considered, because they’re "overruled" by cm11 options.
2. In CM11 button settings there is no option for "App overview".
-> So, i can’t manage to get this function assigned to "Long-press menu button".
Does anyone have a solution?

I'm having the same problem--was wondering if you found a solution, or if anyone else had a suggestion. I'd like my menu (long press) to activate the notification window, but the CM11 button assignments overrule it. Very troublesome.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Apps have no menu with CM 10.1

Hey guys I have finally rooted and flashed my new HTC One S for T-Mobile.
I am running the CM 10.1 with the most recent Gapps.
Here is the weird predicament I am in which I have spent hours searching to no avail. Apps such as Play Store, Advanced Task killer and other apps that have a settings menu on the app home screen. It is not present to be able to adjust settings such as notifications.
If you go to your google play store for instance, do you see in the right corner the little menu button next to the search button that looks like three boxes stacked, I do not have it! just the search button. Any helpers? Maybe the app main screen is running off the screen due to app width any suggestions?

[Q] No menu in Chrome

So my Nexus 5 doesn't have the three-dot menu in chrome that lets you access incognito mode and history and settings and whatnot. I first noticed this when I installed PA rom but after factory wiping my Nexus and even upgrading to 4.4.3, Chrome still doesn't have the menu. My friend's N5 still has the menu key so I'm wondering is it because of some setting I did on my phone or is Chrome like that now?

I always use LMT launcher to open the Menu. Maybe PA ROM has a feature to show up the 3dots icon on the navbar.

Actually, I don't have PA on my phone anymore but Chrome still doesnt have the menu option.
EDIT: I had Pie control from GravityBox on the entire time with the software keys gone but as soon as I turned off Pie Control and turnen on the software keys again, Chrome has the 3-dot menu key. Is there a way I can keep the menu in Chrome while disabling the navkeys and using pie control?
EDIT2: I finally figured it out! I had to enable Force Overflow menu button in Misc. Tweaks in GravityBox.

Cant seem to get a custom launcher to stick since I updated to Marshmellow

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? I can hit the Nova app icon and it will set it the launcher. However, as soon as I hit the home button it reverts back to default. Additionally when in Nova Settings, I tap the header that says tap to set Nova as default launcher, for a half second it acts like it is bringing up another screen momentarily but then stays on the main settings screen. It does the same thing when I scroll down to the Select Default Home where currently Huawei Home is set. I have tried other launchers additional to Nova including: Google Now, TSF, and Smart Launcher. I am currently running the latest update of Nova Launcher Prime 4.3.1, on a GEM-703L, running Android 6.0.
Thanks for any help.
Try this:
1. go to settings > apps>advanced>default app settings
That fixed it! Thank you so much!

Accessing the 'Standard' Lollipop settings menu

Hi all,
When I open the settings on my lollipop device I seem to get a cut down version of the settings options (Menu's and menu options are missing, like accessibility, advanced audio setting, etc)
I know these options can be accessed because I somehow managed to get to the advanced audio settings using nova launcher (I cant remember how)
Is there an app or something like that I can download to open the standard setting app?
Thanks.

Recent Apps Button stopped working after OTA update

I recently updated to MIUI 12.5.1.0(RJGMIXM) via OTA on my POCO X3 NFC (stock ROM), and found that the recent apps button has stopped working. I tried going to Settings -> Additional Settings -> Button Shortcuts, and changed the setting for 'Menu' to "Show Menu", then back to "Show recent apps tray" with no success. Even when set to "Show Menu", nothing happens in any app when hitting that button. I also have the accessibility shortcuts button visible, and tried using the 'Recents' button there, but nothing happens. Has anyone else run into this issue, and have they had any success fixing this?
Thanks!
SOLVED! - I had disabled the built-in POCO launcher in favor of the NOVA Launcher. Apparently, in 12.5, the recent apps functionality is reliant on the POCO launcher, and so enabling that seems to have resolved the issue. Hopefully this helps anyone having a similar issue
