Hello, I'm having a little issue with partitions, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Ace with Mardon's modded CM11 (nightly build 20140326), and with a 4GB SD card. Since I instaled CWM 6, I can't do any partitions through CWM, so I installed MiniTool Partition Wizard to make them, I formatted the phone an the SD card completely, and I created an ext2 partition (3GB for SD card, and the rest of the space for the partition), but now I get a lot of issues on my phone, for example, Link2SD is showing 3 different partitions, SD Card, External SD Card, Ext Partition, when previously I just had SD Card and the partition.
Also, Total Commander shows 3 folders on the main screen, 2 of them are "SD-card" and "Sd-Card(3)", they have the same free space, and the same files inside of them. The first SD Card directory is /storage/sdcard0, and the third one is /mnt/media_rw/sdcard0.
So, how do I get it to work like it was before? I want just one SD-card folder
(And this still happens if I set the ext partition size to 512 or less, so I don't think that matters)
Thanks for the help, and I apologize if what I wrote doesn't make sense, English is not my main language.
(Also, here's some pics of Total Commander, Link2SD and the MiniTool)

I actually don't quite understand your issue here, but I think MiniTool partition wizard does help.

Basically, my phone shows a "SD card" folder, an "Ext SD Card" folder and the partition folder, but the "SD Card" and "Ext SD Card" have the same content, and the same free space, I just want to delete the "Ext SD Card" folder from my phone, so it only shows the "SD Card" folder, however, in MiniTool Partition Wizard, I only have the SD Card and the ext partition, so I don't know how to erase the "Ext SD Card" folder from the phone.
You can see it on the screenshots, total commander shows 3 main folders, two of them are the same folder, but with different names (1 and 3), and Link2SD shows them as "SD Card" and "Ext SD Card", with the same free space.
I just want the phone to show the SD Card folder and the partition folder, not an "Ext SD Card" folder, like it was before.
Also, if I don't know if this helps but, the SD cards directory are /storage/sdcard0 for SD Card and /mnt/media_rw/sdcard0 for Ext SD Card

So i was looking through 4Ext touch's recovery menu and i saw an option in tools to check for sd card partition alignment so i did and according to that the sd card partitions were not properly aligned (whatever that means) so i backed up the data on my sd card and went to repartition it and now it's asking me to choose a partition size for the 1st and 2nd partition plus the swap. I have no idea what to put, i have a 32gb class 10 sd card. Can someone please explain to me what does this whole sd card partition alignment means and what should i choose?
We dont need to partition SD card for inspire. It is for devices will less ROM space, where you partition SD card and use it as phone storage. So just delete all partitions, and just have one.

Ok, thank you very much.
Hi all,
I recently, erased all data on my SD card (using the "Erase SD card" option in settings > storage). Once this had completed the total space went back up to 7.4GB but available space went to 0.00B! I've rebooted the phone, unmounted and re-mounted the SD card and still available space is set to 0!
What could I possibly be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Use a card reader and connect the SD Card to your computer, if it doesn't show up, use a partition tool to partition the SD Card, such as MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Thanks for the help. What an absolute ball ache though! Why is the "erase" option included if it's going to cause these issues? Would have been better off deleting each folder manually.
RESOLVED
I actually managed to resolve this by erasing from settings a couple more times :S
I own a Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013, it is rooted but I still use the stock ROM. I've been doing some tests to see if Link2SD would solve my storage problem. During these tests I noticed that all the big games I linked to the 2 partition of my SD card aren't really linked, as they still are inside the internal storage!!! After that I also noticed in the storage info that I have an external SD card, a SD card second partition and a SD card strangely similar in size to my internal storage!!!! (image attached to help undestand) Can someone explain this to me and possibly give me a solution!!!
No Problem with LINK2SD!!!

I'm using LINK2SD and I don't have any problems.
In fact I have close to 370+ apps (user) and except ENCRYPTED apps (~8) all are in EXT SDCARD 2nd partition.
It is TRUE whenever I'm flashing a NEW ROM - I don't see all those 360+ apps because 2nd partition is not mounted yet (because of new flash).
When I click LINK2SD it again re-creates mount scripts and I have all the apps again.
So far so good.
What I'm saying is that whenever I move a big game like Real Racing 3, Link2SD only moves a couple of MB's that are in the internal memory to the SD card's 2 partition, the 1GB of game data stays in the internal SD card!!! My space problem is a result of many games in my note, so I need to move the game data to the SD card!!
I'm a new Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 owner and need a few pointers on using link2sd. I installed it and understand that since our tablets don't support Apps2Sd natively that we have to move the relevant files to their respective locations onto the 2nd(exFat) partition of the SD card. I understand this however I am not sure how to do it since the tablet can't see this second partition(at least mine can't). If I go to Settings->Storage I can only see my main 16GB internal storage and the 1st(Fat32) partition on the sdcard. No other file managers allow me to see this 2nd partition on the sdcard either. With that in mind, how do I access this 2nd partition to move the linked files to the sdcard?
Dudes, you need to understand, that Link2SD and app2sd DON'T move the big app (game) data from the /mnt/sdcard0/Android folder to your external SD. It only moves the app itself. It was always this case, so I'm wondering about the hype unless you don't have a small app partition.
You have to use Directory Bind or FolderMount for moving big files to external SD. Or simply swap external SD with internal storage.
Hello, I got the app called Link2SD app which allows you to move apps to your external sd card. However, when I tried to move apps to SD card, it says that there was no second partitionn in my sd card and my external storage is emulated by the internal storage. What that means? Also, I went to recovery mode to try to partition the external sd card, it shows me ext size (128M, 256M, 512M, 1024M, 2048M, 4096M). What that sizes actually mean? Thanks.
I have been using a 4gb memory card out of which 3.6 was usable. One day, I connected it to my chromebook and transferred a few files and directly pulled the wire off forgetting about ejecting the device and turning the usb mass storage off. Then I opened the file manager it was showing total storage:447MB and availabel storage:447MB. pls help me with this problem.
Here you go
First point first - Backup your data
I assume that you have access to a Windows or a Linux desktop...
For Windows you will need Minitool Partition Wizard Free Version...
For Linux - GParted will do the job...
----------------------------------------------------------
For your specific problem, it appears to me that the primary partition of your SD card is accidentally shrunk...
So, Plug in your SD card
Open up Minitool Partition Wizard or GParted, find your SD card.....
... and if I am right, you can see 2 or more partition in your SD card
[Make sure you have backed up your data before proceeding]
1. Delete all of the partitions present in your SD card one by one (right click on the partition to find 'delete')
2. You will now end up with an unallocated space of size of your SD card.
3. Right click on that unallocated partition and Create
4. Make sure your new partition is Primary, NOT LOGICAL, and FileSystem = FAT32
5. Apply your changes, and your SD card will be showing it's full capacity.
Thank you I will try it out and let you know if it works
One reason may be that your sd card has some bad sectors due to which some part of the sd card may not be accessible or maybe there is some kind of virus in your sd card. Actually it happened with me also but in my case it was my pen drive and the reason was some of the sectors were not working properly and at last pen drive did'nt work at all....
If that is the reason wouldn't formatting the sd card work out.
