4.4.3 5Ghz ac wifi issue - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Upgrade 4.4.3 through OTA. Now I find I cannot connect 5GHz 802.11ac WiFi. I can see the WiFi ssid, but when I try to connect, it always can't. I change the router channel, but no use. My xperia z and my Mac air 2013 can do. So my router is good. Does anyone face this issue?

My N5 connects well with D-Link DIR-850L 802.11ac router (433Mbps Link Speed reported). Similar connection performance before upgrading (4.4.2).
Something not right somewhere.

I am still connected to my Netgear R7000.

I'm having problems with my D-Link wireless router. Devices can connect to the secured WPA/WPA2 connection with the password, but it doesnt really do anything except for show its connected. I've tried resetting my router completely. I think it has something to do with my Verizon router it goes through. i.e. When I type in 192.168.0.1 or w/e the default is for my router, it used to bring up access to my Verizon router instead of the D-link. I noticed the cables going to the Verizon router where not plugged in correct, (slots 2,3,4 instead of slots 1,2,3) and that fixed the 192.168.0.1 problem, by bringing back the d-link page. However, still not able to recieve internet on connected devices. (I think its somehow connecting to the Verizon router instead of the dual band D-link) --** I use the 2 ghz , not the 5
What's weird is that both my stock captivates would do the same thing. Than after I flashed them the problem completely disappeared.

Strange !!! Got my new Inspire yesterday, connected to WiFi and have been having trouble with my Airport Extreme ever since.
Airport worked perfectly up until then, ever since I keep having to reset the router to get it to work.
Anyone else having sudden trouble with their routers ?
Not having any.problems with the.wifi, quite impressed to.the contrary.
I did just finally upgrade.to a newer midrange (price) belkin.
Our.older netgear was a.nitemare for peripherals.

Fixed the problem. My slink router was conflicting with my Verizon router. I checked to see what my dlinks gateway/DNS IP was using some commands in the run/cmd and had to manually asign IP addresses.
The gateway and DNS should be the same.
Subnet 255.255.255.0
IP address is the phone's IP used to connect

If anyone is having problems obtaining an IP after extended periods of not being connected to your wireless router, try setting ur router to channel 11 and setting security to WEP. After I did this, I haven't had a problem reconnecting whatsoever.

Connect phone wifi hotspot to Linksys wrt router - Issues

I have my Linksys wrt54gs flashed with ddwrt and it allows me to put the routers wifi into various modes such as client mode and repeater.
Basically I want to have my router connect to my Nexus S (or Panache) wifi hotspot, thereby allowing the devices connected to my router by cable to access the internet.
I had this working for months, then one day the PC on my LAN reported it had no internet access and I haven't been able to get it working again reliably since. The router and phone hotspot will connect, but the phone never seems to want to issue the router an IP, so no internety goodness.
Now the phone not wanting to issue the router an IP problem was there from the beginning. I initially solved it by setting up a static wan ip, gateway, and DNS on the routers wan configuration page. This worked well for months, until suddenly it didn't.
Now I've fiddled with it quite a bit and can sometimes get it working on one phone or the other, but it's never really consistent. It might work now, but if I go out and come back l (or try to switch between phones) getting it to work again can be a real hassle.
Anyone have anything like this setup and working reliably? Enquiring minds want to know.

That's weird. Is there anything available on the logs on the router, if so there might be some useful information in them.
Are they all using the same network 802.11b or 802.11g or 802.11n ?
Are they all successfully authenticating to the router, assuming you have some authentication on ? If so you could, as a test, disable the authentication for a little and try that.
Have you searched for any known issues on that router ?
Just some thoughts. It's a weird one, good luck.

[Q] Creating a Wifi Hotspot with Nexus 5

I just tried to give my laptop internet access though my Nexus 5 but to my dismay it did not work. I used the Wi-Fi tethering built into Android and it created a hotspot and I was able to connect to it but with limited connectivity. I am able to connect from the laptop but have no internet connection. I have had no problem on previous phones. What could be causing this?
I got my phone through Sprint. Could they somehow be blocking it?

[Q] Not connecting to AC wireless 5GHz

I've tried searching for this but haven't found anything. Apologies if I am doubling up though.
Anyway:
I recently got a router that can broadcast a 5GHz AC wireless channel. I set it up and got my wife's phone to connect to the 5GHz channel perfectly fine, but my OnePlus One will not even see the channel.
Weirdly though, if I switch the OPO to detect 5GHz bands only, it picks up my neighbours ac wireless, but still won't connect to mine. I've entered the details manually with no luck at all as well.
The SSID's are completely different.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm runnning Cyanogen OS 12 (12.0-YNG1TAS2I3)
phone is also rooted with TWRP 2.8.7.0
Change the channel the 5ghz broadcasts on
Mine works fine on 5ghz

I changed the channels with no luck. It seems to refuse to connect to just my router.
So if anyone looks this up because they also had this problem: I fixed it.
Turns out this was a problem with the ROM. I switched to the CM nightly builds and it connected to my AC wireless channel fine. It also allowed me to send and receive MMS messages again, so there was clearly just something wrong with my build of CyanogenOS.
