Hi, I am using Samsung s duos 2.
Is it safe to remove following inbuilt apps from my device.
Hangouts
Chat on
Chrome
Google pluse
Google drive
Paly news stand
Paly games
Drop box
Hp print services
Samsung print services
Samsung push services
And a few inbulit ring tones
Please help. Also suggest me which rooting procedure is best, as many of my friends ask me to use vroot. Can I unroot after removing those apps? I just need to get rid of above apps as they eat space on updates too and I dont need those apps.

don't delete any apps that say play( i mean the ones related to google play of course) since some of the "google play services" might stop working and suddenly you no longer have store and you'll need to download gapps again... other than that everything you mentioned is safe to remove, although some of it is great stuff, i don't see why you'd want it gone...
I think you can safely remove the following apps:
Paly news stand
Paly games
Drop box
Hp print services
Samsung print services
Most any (good) root app that'll let you uninstall system apps should also let you freeze them (as well as back them up). Titanium Backup is one of the best and most popular, Rom Toolbox Pro is great too. Before uninstalling anything, freeze it first, and use the phone for a while to see if any problems arise. If not, BACK IT UP before removing it. You can store your back-ups on your SD card, or save them to your computer. This way you can free up the space on your phone, but you can still put it back on your phone if you need to (for an OTA update or warranty service, for example).
Clean Master, besides being a great RAM booster and junk file cleaner, also has an app manager that (with root access) can do backups and uninstalls, but also sorts the apps into what's safe to uninstall and what shouldn't be uninstalled. Use this as a guide, but follow the steps above as well (you'll still need Titanium or Rom Toolbox or similar; pay the $6 or $8 or whatever it costs - it's worth it).

As a new Android user with the samsung I have just downloaded and paid for my first App from the Play Store.
How do I back it up in case I need to restore it in the future?
Where is the app stored? I downloaded Sketchbook Pro but when I look in the folder that has been created there are no files!
Uset Titanium Backup for data. Play remembers that you purchased The app, so it probably even restores itself if you eg reset your device.

No need to backup, really. Play Store will have it for you when you reset your device so you can install it again and on as many devices as you want as long as they use your email address.
If you are root. go to /system/ app/ this is where they usually are . Some apps use your personal media space to share data.. like in .. /sdcard/android/???? somtimes this is a folder called obb.. Sometimes the /sdcard could be / data/ sorry i do not yet have this tablet but looking forword to getting it . As soon as i get my refund for the two nexus 7 defective devices i sent back..
What about apps like Plague inc. which have in app purchases?

As long as you purchase from Google play and use the same email account, Google will remember the in-app purchases too. I purchased an app that had an in-app option which i also bought, installed the same app on two devices i.e.tablet and phone and had no issues including the in-app aspect.
App backup and restore works fine for me, just backing up the app but not the data.
Aside from the fact that your purchases are tied to your Google account as they said, you can use AirDroid (which is really really handy) to pull APK files from your device and make back-up copies on your PC. Just don't, you know, distribute them.

I use ES Taskmanager and ES Exlorer to backup and access my apps. It allows you to select where you want to save your backups and it gets all the apps I have tried including purchased apps like Sketchbook Pro. Then I like to copy the backed up apps and store them elsewhere for safe keeping in case for some reason that app gets dropped from where I got it or it is replaced with a version I don't like. BTW you don't need to know where the app is ES Taskmanager will find them. Note some apps when you find where they are they are listed with odd names like "vnz-1111881564.apk" for Kindle reader so knowing where they are does not really help all the time but ES Taskmanager shows the name you will recognize.
I recently rooted my phone and got rid of all the att crapware and a few other programs. I removed the Movie Editor app and now I don't even see it in my apps in the playstore. I'm wondering if this is an app that I should be keeping or is there a better app in the playstore? And if there is isn't a better one how can I go about getting this app back?

You won't find it in your app list on the play store. It's an HTC app. You should use titanium backup or a similar app to just freeze unwanted apps or backup and uninstall instead of just deleting them.
If you want the app back, download one of the sense roms from the dev forum, extract the movie editor apk and push it to /system/app.
Either that, or find an alternative app. Magisto is a good free one, and there are plenty of other free or paid apps available.

I like to freeze apps in Titanium Backup rather than uninstalling outright, as the process is easily reversible. You need the "Pro" license to freeze apps, but its well worth the few dollars to get it, for this and the batch functions.
Here I want to ask a question:
If due to any reason, I am not able to download app from official Play Store, Is it safe to download Apps (.apk) from third party websites?
For example Viber is not compatible with my Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi only) device and I have downloaded it from a third party website. Is it safe to use? Please advise.

Yes and no. if you know source yes else no.
I would suggest enable firewall and block unwanted traffic to and fro.

Sometimes I download apps from 4shared but you got to read before you install because sometimes it will say 'this may cost you money' so it will probably go on your bill and try not to get installers because they can be dangerous and infectous

Read permissions and be smart. Go to play store web page and see the real app permissions and compare it the the one you download. Also be smart. A wallpaper app shouldn't have access to your call logs or phone identity.
With that said not all apps on the play store are safe as well. As malicious apps are rare and often removed, tons of apps are collecting important data and storing it. Do posted above. Install afwall and block internet access to shady apps then enjoy.

Antivirus like avg free for me tells apps that requires push adverts, malicious etc. So I can uninstall those.

Hello friends is their any way to link any paid app to be linked in play store so that the pirated paid app can be activated with any android devices
Q) The problem I have downloaded some paid apps for free and the after installing the app says licence failed or invalid licence
I tried titanium backup pro and then I tried the market functions but doesn't worked out
is their any other way
Why u need to use google play store? Freeze it from titanium.. Use mobogenie . it will announce you about update ... Almost play a part like play store.. You will not have any more problems of licence failed... And also use a firewall app to manually watch apps background movement... :banghead::sly:

I'm pretty sure that isn't possible. I believe when people crack apps they remove the verification features which would remove it from checking your phones unique hash to the app. So when you download the real version it would see your phones hash isn't in the database and henceforth would deny your access. Hope this helps.
I'm not 100% sure but that's usually how things like this work.
no that's Impossible
No you can't link apps that way.
But there is a way to remove license verification.
first of all you need to download a app named 'lucky patcher' and then you can use it to remove license verification
Hey, I have an Nvidia Shield and I want to uninstall some system apps like the google movies and stuff like that, but Im not sure which system apps are actually safe to remove. I dont want to accidentally remove one and end up bricking my shield because I uninstalled somthing Im not supposed to. Is there a list that I could have? Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:
Bump, looking for same info.
Ok thanks!

You can remove all Google Apps like Google +, Maps, Youtube etc. except Play Store and Play Services.
You should not remove any Background Services like Tegrazone or something else. Otherwise Game Streaming or Tegrazone itself won´t start.
A Tip: Remove Apps which appear in the App Drawer. Do not remove those which i mentioned earlier.
Then, you could try to remove services which stay in connection to Apps you removed earlier. Like E-Mail or Contacts.
It´s somehow a hit and miss when you try to remove Apps. If you backed up everything with CWM, you could try it for yourself.
But if you remove those unnecassary Apps, the Nvidia Shield feels slightly faster when you are in the launcher.
And you get more storage space.
Ok thanks!
