[Q] OblyTile & Unicode support - General Questions and Answers

Hi there!
First of all, thanks a lot for the GREAT application. :good:
The only thing I missing so far is the support for unicode characters (in my case Lithuanian, like ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū, ž) in Tile Name. I simply cannot input them - nothing happens. If support for accented letters in version 0.9.8 means unicode, then I probably missing something and need an advise.
Best regards!

Persian Keys Show Up as Boxes on SIP

I've tried using Pocket CM (and other keyboards), but whenever I have a keyboard that has persian or arabic letters those letters show up as boxes. I could type these characters in word as long as I changed the font to one that supported persian characters (Times New Roman). I have tried changing the system font to Times New Roman but that has not helped. Any help is appreciated.

hi,
has nobody an idea?
Florian
Answer from HTC/German Rom on a english device?
Ok, due to the fact that nobody had an idea, i wrote to htc.
On the one hand they wrote that it's not possible to assign the caracter to the keyboard. But - on the other hand - I think there should be a solution. 'Cause for example to the 'o' the german letter 'ö' ist assigned, so there should be a possibility. I can't believe that that's impossible. Or is it really programmed in the hardware?
What happens to a english device if you flash it with an german rom? Do you have the special characters of the german alphabet on the keyboard that you can use? Or is it still the english layout then?
Maybe I should write in a Microsoft forum???? What do you think?

Hi!
I have a T-Mobile Vario IV and I have set it to German, but my Ä, Ö, Ü, ß, Pound, Euro don't work. All the others like the ones on 1 to = or ', ; , : work.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
There is a file in windows directory: eT9.Raphael.wwe.kmap.txt
The file is nicely commented.
Fourth character in the block decsribes Fn behaviour of a key.
For example:
{U U U Ü U 0x06}
makes Fn-U to type Ü
Indrek
Hi and thx,
but I think it's the eT9DeadKeys.txt, but i can't edit it, cause its write protected. How can I edit?
Florian
eT9.Raphael.wwe.kmap.txt did the trick for me.
I used Total Commander to:
- go to Windows\eT9.Raphael.wwe.kmap.txt
- tap and hold on the file and select Properties
- clear Read only and System (two taps on the check box to clear)
- copied to Storage Card and then to my computer
- edited and saved back to Storage card
- copied to Windows directory
- restarted the phone
Maybe you can edit it directly on the phone after removing "read only", but the procedure above worked for me.

RTL support for WinMo

Hi,
I need help in displaying RTL languages (Arabic/Urdu/Hebrew etc) correctly in Windows Mobile.
I am not looking for help in writing a program. All I need is be able to read RTL text correctly e.g be able to read SMS that contains mixed LTR and RTL text.
I have installed Arial Unicode font that has Arabic characters and now I am able to see individual Arabic characters (which were earlier displayed as boxes) but they are not joined and they are in LTR direction.
Any solutions?

[Q] How to add local language or character to rom

Dear Friends,
I have a Galaxy 5 (GT - I5500) rooted with froyo 2.2 and I want to use Persian (also called Farsi, similar to Arabic) texts on it.
I have installed Go Keyboard and its Farsi language pack, but as the characters do not exist in my device, I get a "square box" for each character.
Is there any trick I can do to introduce new language or new characters to the Rom?
Obviously, I'm not going to replace fonts, this has to be something far deeper.
Your help and support on this is highly appreciated.

Using and not using diacriticals (accented characters)

Hey guys,
I have looked but for some reason it's difficult to find information on this topic.
Sometimes I need to write in Slovak language on my Android 6 phone. However, it seems neither the AOSP keyboard nor GBoard have the ability to type with diacriticals (accented/national characters). The SK keyboard is identical to the EN one.
I tried SwiftKey but that seemed to slow down my phone and make it less stable. Is there any way to add languages with national characters to the standard keypad? (Preferably to the AOSP one.)
My 2nd question is about the reverse. AOSP keypad offers no word suggestions when the language is set to SK. GBoard and SwiftKey do, but only WITH accented characters. However most of the time when I type even in SK, I still don't want to use accented characters.
Is there any way to use a national dictionary (again preferably in AOSP) but have all the accented characters replaced with the standard A-Z? (E.g. č->c; é->e.) Even my old candybar phone with T9 had that ability 12 years ago and I miss it :/
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Oh sh*t posted in the wrong forum, sorry!! Please move to Q&A, I had multiple tabs opened and confused them
