Hello community,
Here I am to ask something before doing any harm to my phone. In March I bought a chinaphone, an Ulefone u9592 (MTK6592 processor) and wanted to upgrade it to Android Kitkat. Back in time I read that a stable release of an Android 4.4 ROM for such processor wasn't released yet but now I've noticed that there are some devices mounting it(or at least the net says so.) Is out there any ROM I could use or I gotta wait some more? Thank you for the answers and noobfriendliness!
nope

hi..as you see there is no development and there won't be any development because of the locked bootloader.sony rules says that there is 18 months of development since the releasing of the device, xperia c has been released in July 2013 ( 10 months till without any development ) so i want every member here have xperia c to complain and force Sony to give our rights of development i'm not buying this device to stuck on 1 android version + :
1_locked bootloader ( first device from sony has bootloader can't be unlocked ).
2-extract system.ext4 is not available because its signed.
3-we were in a fight till we got worked cwm.
4-lower devices like xperia m ( has been released in august 2014 ) has been updated to 4.3.
5-old UI and most of apps are old.
are sony punish us because we have bought xperia c or what ?!!!!
so like we worked together till we have got cwm we must do it again till xperia c get updated.and if any one of sony customer services said its related to mediatek because they didn't give us the source its not related to us we have bought from sony not from mediatek and we want the development away from mediatek or anything as sony rules says.
here is the link to complain http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-C/bd-p/Xperia_C.
guys please this is the only way to force sony to update the device so every one here must complain. i'm sorry for prolong but am really angry and disappointed.good luck to all !!!

NO MediaTek mistake, many device with MT6589 have much development .because of sony lock bootloader !!
look at this:
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][WIP] Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.2 - kitkat) for Wiko Stairway (mtk6589)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2676086
It have development. But it's impossible to make custom kernel properly.
Sent from my C2105 using Tapatalk
You can make Stock based Custom ROMs but making of Custom Kernel is a problem and that's why we are not getting as many ROMs as other devices are getting
sony just give us a false hope, all of us hope with new update we can unlock bootloader, because in sony web our XC in list that can unlock bootloader, but what we have in update 16.0.B.2.16, we can unlock our phone, NO WE CANT, and this still 4.2.2 not 4.3, and this really disappointing
Sony is to blame not MediaTek, because there is already Kitkat for MT6589 on other devices.
No update
proximity sensor bug during call:crying:
low storage
low volume in speaker and also in headphone
Hello Guys,
I recently bought a Gigabyte Gsmart Arty A3, its a very nice phone for the price.
Chipset Mediatek MT6582
CPU Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7
GPU Mali-400MP2
I just rooted it and have been looking around for a custom ROM to install but there aren't any available!!! anywhere!!!
incidently Gigabyte doesn't come up in the device search on this forum!
So please pay attention to Gigabyte as its a great company which makes great phones that too for cheap.
Anything, even AOSP ROMS will be great.
Yep, that's a pretty cool device for being low-cost. But this is probably the wrong thread, to ask this. You can try to submit a request for a new device forum or use the low activity device forum and start a thread, getting yous hand dirty in the process...

Your biggest hurdle is that they almost never release kernel source for the device. So that best you can hope for are some alpha ported roms that may or may not work

You could but depending on Tue country the device comes from it might be pointless. Request it from the OEM..they will most likely say they don't have it as they just import and rebrand the device.

Hello guys, I am curious will Sony anounce official Android N support for our beloved Z3?
By that time can I use Developer Preview 4.ftf as daily driver? I can handle some glitchs.
Thank you!

Sorry to disappoint you but the Z3 isn't going to be graced with official Android N support. DP4 is as far as we're going to get.
DP4 can be used as a daily driver but there is an issue with the wifi. If you're not connected to wifi you need to disable it or risk a possible random reboot.

Yeah that's what I thought.. Thanks a lot bud!
It's not fixed? Can we get monthly security updates?
Well 7.1 aosp will Come as binaries are already avaible. Wenn just habe still luck. Thing is that official Support Not avaible couse device leaks off the encription that Google forced to 7.0 thats why we dont got it .
Does this mean the only way to get N on Z3 is through AOSP? Can't someone port Android N from another Xperia device?

Port Android N from another device? Qualcomm depracated msm8974 platform long ago so no other msm8974 device will be getting Nougat officially. All the other Xperia devices that will receive Nougat are 64 bit, using 3.10 kernel officially, and are on different platforms which means it won't work. Furthermore, there's also an additional barrier of proprietary libraries.
AOSP is the way to go

Ah that's a shame. That being said I don't know why Sony teased us a developer preview of Android N if we were never going to get it officially. It's like showing some dessert and then saying you can't have it. My Xperia S has alot of support in terms of AOSP, hell there's been a stable build of Nougat for a while. I haven't updated it because I only use it to listen Audiobooks. Seeing as we no longer have official support, I hope this means more AOSP focus.

Qualcomm deprecated the msm8974 platform and Google had those encryption or OpenGL requirements, not sure why everyone blames Sony when no other msm8974 is getting official Nougat..
3 years ago somebody downgraded somebody I met at the internet successful my Samsung J5 to Android 5.
Now I think about the possibility to downgrade my Samsung A7 (A750GN) to Android 4.
Would it be possible?
In know with such a questions a lot of people want to know why.
It's simple.
I love how 4 looks.
I could still enjoy 5 if I have too.
And Android is gone the same negative way like Microsoft with Windows 10.
Every new Android Version has more and more rubbish included I don't use and I don't want,
Today is (for me) my Android Version a overloaded fat elephant with so many bad functions I can't turn off.
I would like to have a "Android Lite" and I would like to have a Android that looks like 4 or 5.
But would it be possible?
I have never ever done something like this for myself.
That last time with my J5 somebody installed a remote control on my laptop and I plugged in my mobile and this guy has done everything remote controlled.
I have still to today no idea who he was and from where he was.
But it worked fine.
He downgraded my J5 to Android 5 and he changed something in such a way the mobile never ask for a update and when I try to force a update I get the wrong answer the newest update in installed.
Absolute great.
That is what I'm looking for with my A7.
Any ideas?
It is NOT possible to downgrade your A7 to android 5.
When a new phone comes out , for example the A7 2018 , it was launched with android 8.
It can not be downgraded to any version below the version it came out with.
Even after updating from android 8 to the latest android 10 , i don't think it is possible to even downgrade to android 8 again (because samsung updates, patch your phone with the new update.)
Galaxy J5 was released with android 5 touchwiz, the android 5 system customized by Samsung.
The person who was connected to your computer has installed a custom rom (probably an AOSP rom , as you described being a "lite version".)
AOSP roms are roms without the Samsung add-ons and customizations , created by developers here on XDA.
For the moment , an AOSP android 10 for A7 2018 is not available , but there is another way to get a "lite " version of android 10 on your device.
As it needs a lot of reading and understanding on android development, i do not sugges you doing so .
It is called GSI and you can find by reading in the correct thread , for example :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a7/help/how-to-install-gsi-samsung-galaxy-a7-t4165617
Please , be aware that you might brick your device if you decide to experiment with its system.
Hope this helps you.
Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (SGH-T599N) that I would like to repurpose and use for a type of iPod. My only issues are that it can only run upto Android Marshmallow (6.0) I am digging around in this community to try and find someone to build a more recent version of Twrp and an updated rom with most everything working. I am hoping this will be affordable. I am willing to give payment for this build of both Twrp and the Android OS if it is not possible to get at least 8.0 Oreo on it then I will take my sites elsewhere and use a different device. Thanks to all! Please let me know if you're interested.
