[Completed] correct subject to post questions for TWRP install questions - XDA Assist

I was able to root my my new lg g2 (verizon) with the ioroot but I have searched and searched but couldn't find an answer why the loki_flash returns aboot does not match for my device. I have the img files since it states to do img files before using the zipped files. I need to find out where to post this question as I have tried 3 different ways with no answer.
Secondly - new question - where can I find information on installing the AutoRec.apk to try to complete the same thing? This is my first root and I have read a lot and searched a lot but I must be missing the correct post to read through. Thanks in advance...

I could be wrong but it seems like you are referring to a specific thread to which you can't post yet. An Ideal way to get quick and accurate answer is to post in this Q&A forum instead.
In order to make the 10 posts to meet the criteria of the Development forums, here's little guide.

[Q] Root/Flash/Voodoo Help SGS I9000 (XWJVN)

Hello xda peeps,
This is my first post on the site so here's to hoping I don't break any rules .
I have recently upgraded to firmware 2.3.3 on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with above mentioned Kernel - XWJVN. I know there is a related post in the development section but I am yet to find a simplistic explanation of:
1. How I would firstly root the phone to access superuser rights.
2. What the most useful changes would be to make to my phone once it is rooted, considering I am still relatively noob.
3. Pretty much anything else I would need to know, ie. basic explanations of rooting, roms, flashing etc.
I apologise in advance if aforementioned have been answered to suit a newbie such as myself but I was not able to locate them anywhere on the site.
Any help would be apprecaited peeps.
Thanks
Aurnen
Unfortunately you're in the wrong section Post it in the i9000 section next time
For question1: search "CF-ROOT", there are much more information in the thread.
For question2&3: download "Root and me" from the market.
For your information, and in case that you have other device(s), almost every device have their own section in this forum.

Can I use Odin to FLASH the Rogers release of ICS on SGS2?

Hello Xda forums,
I've read and used these forums to much success in rooting, flashing a custom ICS rom before, and fixing a soft-brick in the past.
Lately my SGS2 from Rogers hasn't been cooperating with Kies and I've tried every solution I could possible find in order to fix this to get the official ICS release from Rogers, to no avail.
I was wondering if it's possible just to flash the stock ROM of ICS from Sammobile as a workaround to upgrading through Kies, and would I have to wipe data and re-install stuff like CWM and the like or will those stay on my phone through the update?
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated
Thank You.
If you've read and used these forums as you claim then you should be well enough aware. There are device specific forums for questions like this. If you had a device without a forum then it would be a good idea to post here, but as there are specific forums for the SGS2 you would be far better off posting there.
Well since I am a new user I can't post replies in those forums, and directed me to post in General or Q&A forums so here I am.
I have read threads, but following instructions that have been clearly laid out for you is fairly easy and doesn't take much sense to do.
You can't post in the Developer forum - which is correct as this is NOT a development question. There are both General and Q&A forums within the SGS forum - that is where you should be posting.

[Q] Linux Rooting and Unlocking Questions?

Hello Everyone,
I am sure there are a bunch of similar post, but I looked around and found a post on rooting and unlocking. The questions is
Is the linux version up-to-date and is the recovery included up-to-date? I downloaded it last night so it should be current, but I want to make sure.

Which tool, Casual? I have a Windows pc so I can't troubleshoot with you but the existing Windows exploits work and have not been altered in any way so the same goes whichever tool you downloaded.
Thanks just checking.
Not a problem, it should work for firmware:
-VRLF2
-VRLG1
-VRLG7
-VRLHE

Using kingo root there is no success. So was wondering if there was any other possible ways. Such as flashing it somehow to a lower android version? If anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated.

Loads of information throughout the site. Please use the search box.
Here are two to get you on your way.

Just some friendly advice, as you appear to be new to the forum:
1) As per the previous comment, the xda search function is your friend. Always search before making new threads. A question as common as "How do I root this phone" has certainly been asked dozens (or more) times and answered just as many times. No need to clutter up the forum with a new post on such a common topic. If everyone wondering how to root made a new thread to ask that question, this forum would become a useless mess.
I know the amount of info on this forum can be overwhelming to sift through. But there are also some very handy resource threads "sticky" at the top of the forums, such as this "index" thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...pro-roms-kernels-recoverys-firmwares-t3931126
2) Along the lines of the "sticky" threads, you should have tread this one "Please red before posting": https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/thread-t3333345
Question like yours belongs in Q&A section. Do NOT make a new thread, I'll ask the mods to have this thread moved to the proper section.
Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your rooting endeavors.
