Sorry to did this up, but old thread close and unable to post in ROM thread.
I have installed the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657322 ROM, and have not sound. I assume its an incorrect bootloader/modem or kernal.
I dont know how to tell what ones I have, or what are the correct ones I should be using.
Any help would be great.

Hi there!
Sorry no one could solve your issue in the thread right away.
I see two options here. Go to the development section and try a different ROM out...or a few. Until you find one you love! And/or, go to the general and Q&A sections and read some threads that interest you and post some "useful" posts to get your post count up to 10. Then you can post in the development section and ask further questions in the miui thread.
Here is the section for your device...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4
I hope you find something you like, or solve this issue with the help of the guys in the miui thread! Good luck! ?
I have tried several roms with the same issue, I dont believe its a hardware issue as when I try anything that requires sound it crashes the app and closes.
Its like a bad driver issue
If it happens on several ROMs, then it can only be one of 2 things.
Hardware fault. Or a bad app you installed.
Flashing a new rom is a fresh start....its highly unlikely they all have sound glitches. And its not drivers. Everything system related is flashed new when you flash a new rom.
Anyway, to prove if its hardware or not, you pretty much need to return to stock. If you still have no sound, its extremely likely its hardware related. In which case, repair or exchange is your only option.
Here's a return to stock thread. Again.....if you need any help returning to stock, you will have to post some useful posts and get to the 10 post count, then ask your questions in the rom threads.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Again, good luck!

One last thing. Why not post your issue in the Q&A section? It will help with your post count.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help
XDA Assist is about directing users who can't find their way. The path has been shown to you and now you need to utilize the resources and device experts in your phones section.
Hope it all works out. ?

And see this thread. You need Mega app and free account, but similar issue and worked for the member.
Tho....flash at own risk of course. I know nothing of the procedure and haven't used it.

Hi there!
I found this thread that should help. Has full instructions and the files you need.
Please read everything very carefully before doing anything. Good idea to read through the thread a bit too to see feedback from others.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552792
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 12:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
And I'll add....if you have further questions it would be best to ask in that thread. They know the device best. The instructions make sense to me, so just read carefully and follow the instructions to the letter.
You need 10 posts under your belt to post in it, so I suggest looking through your device section and commenting and adding "useful" posts where you can to get to you 10 post minimum, so you can post in the first thread I linked you to.
Here's your device section. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace?nocache=1&z=674755906220525
If you have issues following the root guide, you could post a thread in the q&a section for your device as well. Will help get your list count up.
Just be very detailed, like the exact issues/errors you got trying to root.
Didn't work

That's the way it needs to be done. So more details would help to know what the issue is.....however, XDA assist is here to show people where to find what they're looking for....not technical support.
You will need to ask in the sections I linked you to, and/or get your posts up to 10 by contributing to the threads in your section, then ask in the thread for rooting I linked. But again, people need specific details to assist....."didn't work" doesn't give us much to go on.
The people in your phone section know how to handle issues on your device best. I'm sure you will find help there. ?
i9100g .ICS 4.0.3
Hi My i9100g is stuck on bootloop, i accidentaly choosed the wrong kernel On Odin, now i cant enter download mode or Recovery Mode, Plz Help Me
Hi! I'm not sure what can be done if you can't get into recovery or download modes....but read through this thread. Perhaps there is something helpful in the thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/guide-fix-unflashable-soft-bricked-t1619571
Now, you need 10 posts under your belt to post in development sections. So maybe try making a thread in the Q&A section looking for help. Be very specific with your issue details. Here's the Q&A section...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help?nocache=1&z=511110676452517
You can also look around a contribute some useful posts to get your post count high enough to post in the first thread I linked.
Hopefully you can bring it back to life....tho honestly, flashing another phone models kernel could have very well bricked you. You can look into getting it fixed, but it may cost too much for an older device.
Good luck!

Try kies as well.
i was in ICS 4.0.3 do i have to use 4.1.2 ,,??
You need to get into download mode before anything else.
Again, you can make further inquiries in the Q&A thread I linked...or browser the section for things already written about.
But without download or recovery mode...you're in a tight spot.
Hello:
I have my Galaxy note 2 i317 in the Ver.4.3 and the uncio that bothers me is that I cannot use my Galaxy as modem used a aplicasion called Hotspot. This all happened when I made an UPDATE to my Galaxy already when i was in view. 4.1.2 Worked great. If you have a solution for my problem i would very much appreciate the help.
Hi!
I found a similar question in your device section....seems there's alternatives available.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599270
See if something works, or try asking more questions in that thread.

I'm not sure if you're rooted....but reading a few other things leads me to believe most 4.3 custom ROMs work with tethering as well. ?

Thank you for quick reply, my Galaxy is Root if i could give me a guide how to install a Rom you agradesere
This is the section for your device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2-att
Look through the Android Development and Original Development threads. Read the opening posts of ROM threads, see what appeals to you and read the instructions carefully.
My advice tho....knowledge is power with this stuff....and misunderstanding can mean doom for your device. I'd read some of the stickies at the top of the General and Q&A sections and learn about this stuff before you do it. (Stickies are the threads with thumb tack icons beside them)
Life will be far smoother if you understand what you're doing before you do it.
Enjoy!

OK!!! Thank you very much my brother for help. I'm going to read first and if I have no doubt you'd bother a little jijiji.
Thank you very much.
any tips on why every ROM I install crashes after boot or won't install at all? I've tried CWM and TWRP with Cyanogenmod, aopk, MIUI.
Hi!
I see you've already asked in the general Android forum. But you'd be better served asking in your devices section, found here...
> HTC One > One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Just be sure tho that you've followed the flashing instructions exactly. Sound like you're missing a step perhaps.
Good luck!
yeah
all ROMs are a zip file with three sub folders and a boot.img, right? i've tried so many, i fgure there must be a partition that's not getting wiped or something.
Again, you need to ask in the correct forum as linked above.
XDA Assist is here to point you in the right direction, but not for support.
Ask in the thread I linked and someone should be able to help, that knows your device best.
---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 PM ----------
Also....be very descriptive in your post....list any errors or what happens exactly. Will speed up the troubleshooting. ?
I'm a new user here. I ported a rome for my mtk6572 device . but the rome does have an audio bug. My loud speaker is not working , i replaced these (Attached Thumbnails) from stock rome but the bug not fixed yet ... what sould i do?
Hi,
You should be asking for help in the thread you downloaded the rom from. It's likely a known bug. If you read back through the rom thread starting at the end, you may find talk about how to fix it.
Otherwise, you will likely need to flash your stock firmware again. You can ask for help here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also, include your device make and model number if you post in the link I suggested.
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 PM ----------
Ah, I missed the "I ported" part of your post.
See the many useful guides and tutorials here,
> Chef Central > Android
If after doing some reading, you still need help, you can ask in that section.
