[Q] Help with email shortcuts on Android 4.4 - General Questions and Answers

Recently picked up an Xperia Z2 as I'm considering switching from a Lumia 925 to Xperia Z2. The Windows Phone hardware is simply falling too far behind and I can't wait another month for the Lumia 930!
However, a big thing I like about WP is the way it handles separate email accounts as tiles on the home screen. Is this possible on Android? I can add Shortcuts per email account, and it links nicely to the inbox, but the shortcut icons give me no new email notifications in the top right corner. Can anyone advise? I want to be able to see all my inboxes (4 total) with number of new emails per inbox right on my home screen...and not in the form of a large widget which takes up too much space.
Thanks in advance...

Xperia X1 Sony Ericcson Panel

I have just bought this phone and used google sync to sync my google calendar with my phone calendar.
Im using the sony erricson panel 1 because i want a panel which displays the numbers of messages in each of my email inboxes seperately and also displays events in my calendar.
what i would like to do is change the number of events it displays or rather, make it display all calendar items in the next month.(it currently just displays todays and tommorows)
How can i get it to do this/ has anyone hacked it/ can tell me how to? or is there an alternative panel that will do this along with displaying my emails seperately?

Gmail Widget - For Labels, Not Inbox?

Not sure if this is an App limitation, or I missed the option, but is it possible to make the gmail widget select a specific label to display, or even an all mail option?
I guess I'm too organised in having almost all my mail feed into labels except the unexpected/boring ones, and now I don't get to have them display in widgets.
Ideally I'd like to have 2 or 3 full height widgets showing my most used label's new mail for quick access.
If the stock app can't do this, does anyone know of a replacement app or widget that can?
I spent a lot of time trying to find such a widget on my Desire phone and finally found the GMail Label Notifier widget.
It works brilliantly on my Desire; each widget can be associated with any label in any GMail account and it will take you to that label & account when you click on it. Each widget also shows the unread count as well as giving the ability to define a different vibrate & ringtone per label.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on Honeycomb but I suspect that it may work if you're rooted because of something I have read elsewhere. I'm not yet rooted but if you are, you could try. I'd really like to know.
The developer states that you can try it on Honeycomb and if it doesn't work to contact him and he'll refund. I contacted him less than 24 hours ago but he has not yet replied.
If we can get it working on Honeycomb it is really a great widget. As far as I know its he only one that has the 'per label' feature.
Thanks for the reply.
I have looked into GMail Label Notifier, but I was hoping for proper widgets that showed the actual mail's subject and first few lines of text. But beggers can't be choosers.

[Q] widget to show new email count on lock screen.

Any one here who might know of a widget that will show the new message count of the email's inbox on the TF's locked screen?
Gonna have to use WidgetLocker. Think it's around $1.99..it's worth the cost as it really nice to have widgets on your homescreen. Only problem is that they don't have the Honeycomb lockscreen, so you'll have to deal with a MIUI, iPhone, Rotary, or Sliding tab lockscreen.

Need help finding a good notification badge app!!!

Hi All,
My very first post on XDA forums, i have used these forums for great help in the past.
I'm a little stumped at the moment, i am using Dodol Launcher on my Nexus 5 with Lollipop OS, i'm about 90% happy with the whole launcher, just need to know if there's any good notification badge applications out there for Ebay? so when i get notifications in Ebay, the badge app icon with notification count comes up on the homescreen icon? An app which lets me select which apps show homescreen unread badge counts on the icon would be perfect!
Also, is there a good email app which supports multiple email accounts (Gmail, Yahoo etc) all in one, and will combine the unread messages as a badge app count on the homescreen icon?
Any suggestions would help, please don't mention another launcher as i'm quite happy with Dodol at thei stage.
Thanks!
The email app you need is my mail. I use it and it is superb. Takes all accounts plus you get an email account from them which just uses your phone no as a pass word so can only be used on your phone. Makes for really good names. As you put say your name then its just @MY.com. I've Gmail Hotmail etc on it and it takes nova notification badges

Oppo, contacts and missing widgets

Hello all, just a quick one, how on earth do you add a contact to the home screen on an Oppo A5? I've looked through widgets and there isn't an option to add contacts to home screen, there doesn't appear to be anything linked in the contacts themselves to add to the home screen (though I did notice each contact had 2,yes 2 icons to send a text to them just a couple of cm apart).
