HTC One X software up date failure - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Okay so yesterday I was in the process of updating my One X using the manual update from the HTC website;
htc.com/us/support/htc-one-x-att/news/
I followed all the steps and I got as far as actually updating my phone then the wizard tells me that my USB disconnected and the update cannot proceed. Now at this time, the "htc" logo was showing in gray. Not the usual one you see at boot up. After a while it came off and now my phone will not power on for anything. There's no led light either when I plug it in. Also, when connected to my laptop, windows gives me the message that the usb malfunctioned and it cannot recognize the device.
I don't know what to do. None of the methods I've tried have worked, I've tried the power button and volume down button and also taking out my sim card.

Unfortunately you're probably bricked, if an RUU is interrupted hallway through that's usually the result.

Okay, is there anyway to fix this?
I think I'm just going to buy the HTC One instead. I need an upgrade anyway.

Jtag repair is usually the only fix for this kind of brick.

My Sensation is dead, bricked, won't charge or turn on

I tried flashing my unlocked Orange Sensation and now it does not show any sign of life: I can't turn it on, no light from the LED indicator when charging it.
I removed the battery several time and put it back then tried power it on without any luck, here what I did before:
I followed this tutorial and S-OFF,installed ClockworkMod Recovery, and rooted it all successfully.
After that I tried flashing if using Sensation_3.32.401.5_deodexed from this thread, but the phone kept restarting showing HTC logo screen.
Then I read that I need to super-cid my phone since it was from Orange. I did that using Auto Super-Cid Script By Pavelol v3, again the phone kept restarting showing HTC logo screen.
Finally, I successfully installed Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU in this thread, then reboot, BAM phone is dead!
I don't know what I did wrong, but it should not kill my phone!
I looked at previous threads but there is no clear cause or solution.

Well, you certainly bricked your phone by installing the ROM before upgrading the firmware or superCID your phone..
First of all, there's no need to superCID just because you are on Orange, you could have downloaded the suitable firmware from mike's thread. Then again you should have done it before trying to install the ROM. That's what you probably have done wrong.
Now as per the solution, refer to the following threads..I guess they will help you

I would try that if the phone would power on
My problem now is that the phone can't be turned on. I press the power button nothing happens, I connect it to the charger but charging LED not lighting.
I connect it to my PC but it can not detect the phone at all because it is not turned on.

Can you load recovery or bootloader by pressing power and volume button?

No
I can't since it can't turn on!

You don't need to be able to fully turn your phone on in order to access the recovery and bootloader. Charge the phone for a while, even if no LED is showing. Reflash the 3.32 firmware if you can access the bootloader. Flash VI through recovery. Observe.

I charged the phone with no LED indicating its being charged, pressed the power button and nothing happened. The phone can't be powered at all.
I think you need to take it to repair shop, to un-break it they need to replace a part on your htc using JTAG.
This will cost you alot of money.

Remove battery, replace battery, hold volume - and press power, this is how you enter bootloader. Does this work?

Already did that
I've already removed the battery and replaced it many times without any luck.
Try to take to a local HTC repair center. If You have any kind of proof of purchase, they have to repair it under warranty according to the IMEI no.
I succesfully got my phone back in this way. Just don't tell them what You did, only that it won't turn on.
Good luck!
I will take it to HTC repair center, unfortunately I lost its papers so I'll have to pay for the repair
I had the same problem...phone won't turn on and unresponsive. Not sure if it's ROM related....it happened after I installed the new revolution ROM...but everything seem to go fine and was able to boot to the new ROM...then when using for call it had a long beep tone and just turned off and never turned on again.
So I am waiting for repair from HTC as well...hopefully they will replace it as well. Do you think yours is a hardware problem? I am glad they replaced yours even it was rooted.. I am hoping they can't turn on and had no choice and way to know it was roooted!

Indeed! Same hapened to me. It was mainboard failure. They couldn't turn it on.
Bad side it has latest stock rom with HBOOT 1.27.0000, and still no way to unlock bootloader, rooting and S-OFF.
HTC repair center says that the motherboard need to be changed and it will cost me about 235$! I found out while searching that many experience this problem.
I tried to find a replacement but almost all my search result is about the upper PCB with motherboard flex cable which is leftover of people buying motherboards.
HTC has problems with motherboards with several models also.
I hate HTC, I will not buy any HTC again.
try contact your dealer, and ask if he can find the tickets?
Hey man, try jumpstarting your phone by taking out the battery and plugging it in the wall, try turning it on while it is directly connected?
This is a know issue. You have hard bricked your device. I did it too. If you have warranty, there is no way HTC can detect a modified device and they will replace the motherboard for you like they did for me, free of charge. If you don't have warranty thankfully there is now a relatively simple way to fix this:
Just follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351
Note: This will fix only devices which were bricked by turning S ON. And bricks caused by a damaged hboot via interrupted OTA update/RUU flash on a S-ON device. Any devices bricked with other ways are currently *not* supported. We are working on it

My case is that I've installed a ROM before updating the firmware, anyway I have tried it and it won't work with me.
Anybody can explain this to me?
I don't know how flashing a ROM before upgrading the firmware can damage my motherboard ! Anybody can explain this to me?
I did many crazy things with Samsung and Huawei and those never hurt the hardware

HTC Sensation Warranty Question

Okay, so yesterday my phone broke. Basically what happens with my phone is that when I turn it on, an image of static appears onto the phone. This image doesn't leave the screen, you can't interact with the phone, basically you can't do anything because the phone will boot up but then the image of static appears. (Home, Menu, Back, & Search button do respond though)
There's no visible physical damage on the phone but I do hear a bit of rattling inside when I shake the phone.
I ordered my new phone last night, I receive it today and now I have to return my damaged one. Here's the question, I had the latest Android Revolution HD on it, it was rooted & all and I'm wondering, even though you can't interact with the phone, will T-Mobile void my warranty if they repair it, turn it on and find out the new "mods"?
Since I can't interact with it, I can't delete anything or reset anything.
Thank you for your help. (Please move if in the wrong section)
I know this sounds horrible but I wouldn't give it a shot. I would make sure the phone is bricked and then send it just to cover my ass. Is it wrong yes, but the phone doesn't work properly as it is. Do I feel guilty? No, I pay insurance for the dang phone all year.
-Just my 2cents.
No, I feel no guilt at all whatsoever. But, how exactly do I brick the phone if I can't do anything with it? I can only turn it on and look at a screen of static.

There are many ways to do so, just do what is said not to do. Normally that does it. Or you can risk it being sent back to you.
This is what I would do, I would download the latest RUU from here. Then I would boot the device into Hboot by powering on the device and holding the volume down button down. Now I know you say you can not see the screen, but when the menu of Hboot comes upit will be on fastboot so all you will have to do is hit the power button. Then connect the device via USB to your computer then run the RUU. When the RUU is done you will be on complete stock.
Now if you really want to brick the device just wait until the RUU is flashing the Radio, or just flash a Radio, and pull the USB cable out while it is flashing the radio. This will for sure hard brick the device.
I'm cracking up reading this thread on, basically, how to properly brick your phone.
From what I've read formatting your sd card with an old version of Cyanogenmod 9 works great..
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
like mentioned earlier, pull the battery during a radio update, this will most likely hard-brick it
if the screen is damaged but the phone is still functioning you should be able to get into hboot and install a radio

Pulling the USB cable won't do a thing. The radio .img is sent to the phone, then written.
It's a battery out job halfway through to kill it.

Well this is news to me, please link me to something that I can read more about this. I thought the image files were written as the RUU sent them to the device.
My source is watching the output of fastboot commands, and the progress bars in HBOOT, not articles I'm afraid
You could install a tablet ROM. That would for sure brick it, right?

what firmware/hboot version was on your warranty replacement when they sent it?

You are correct. If you are using a RUU, then you can just pull the cable. If you are just flashing a radio file located in your SD Card, then you need to pull the battery.

No, it can't help me coz phone is dead i cant turn it or connect with pc adb says no devices found
adb is weird.
Whenever I think my phone is dead (when I do something stupid), I first hold down the power button for five to six second, and see if I get the blinking lights at the bottom of the screen. If nothing, I plug the phone to charge (to make sure it hasn't died. I leave it there for a good hours. Then try the power again. If I don't get anything after that, then I'm positive that I've bricked it.

7 Vibrations and Nothing happens

So, I have a friend's HTC Desire S with me, which won't boot and all it does is 7 vibrations (Fastboot, normal boot). I've searched through this forum as well as the web and found no serious soultion offered. Some say to place the mobile in a fridge and some to put it inside owen. The solutions offered are pretty old, so I'm just checking if there's a permanent solution for this 7 vibration and nothing happens issue. The phone was bricked when an official upgrade from GB to ICS was announced some months before. The update was complete and when my friend removed the usb from the mobile, it bricked. Any help would be much appreciated.
Can you get it into fastboot, can you get adb to recognise it?

Nopes. The phone won't charge, no LED.
I have Desire_S_All-In-One_Kit_v2.0 by Hasoon2000 and when I try to flash a rom or a recovery, the device is not detected!
htc desire s upgrade to ICS fail - unable to recover
I have been facing problem ! I was upgrading my htc desire s to ICS which was previously running on gingerbread. I had downloaded the RUU from htc dev website. Half-way through the process, the application stopped running on my PC. Ever since then my phone won't turn on. I am not able to recover the device. The PC is unable to detect it and I'm not able to charge it.. (the LED won't turn on). I also tried to turn it on by holding the power button and the volume down button together but it still won't turn on. Is there anything I can try before I send it to the htc service center ? Is it fixable at all ? The phone was in perfect condition before I tried to upgrade it. I would really appreciate any help in this regard..

Bricked my phone?

So I was trying to revert back to stock on my One X. I flashed stock recovery, re locked the phone and then downloaded the newest update from HTC's website. Everything went according to plan until the update finished and my phone no longer worked. It appears to turn on based on when i plug it into my computer it makes the "hey you plugged in a USB device" sound and when I long hold the power button it makes the disconnect sound. There is no display whatsoever.
What I have tried.
- Cannot boot into recovery
- Cannot get adb to recognize my device
- Cannot get fastboot to recognize my device
- Charged with HTC power brick and cable for 24 hours to validate it wasn't dead. No charge light while charging
Seems unlikely, but does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a hardware problem, if the display/charge light don't turn on at all :S
Doesn't sound like hardware at all to me, sounds like user error. What ROM were you on when you flashed the OTA?

If you were SuperCID, S-on, and tried to flash the Jellybean update, you are bricked, per my PSA sticky at the top of General. If this is the case, time to JTAG.
