A little pissed that no headphone plus came with the phone, si I haven't tested, however it appears that my car audio input it not working on the g2x I can hear the caller, but they can't hear me has anyone tested phone calls using ear plugs?
When I plug into my car input, the external phone mic appears to be turned off and I can hear callers, but they can't hear me.
On my vibrant, I use my car speakers to listen and the phone mic to talk
Is there a way to keep the phone mic on when the jack is plugged in?
when using the head phones on my phone it still sends the audio to the speaker. The phone recognizes that something is plugged in but it still plays through the speaker on the phone. My guess it's a software bug. Can anyone confirm?

So I've been using the Nexus S for a while now(about 3 months). And the other day, after I plugged in the headphones to listen to music, the external speaker stopped working after I unplugged them.
It worked intermittently afterwards but then stopped all together.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this same issue and if there is a fix for it other than sending my phone back to Samsung for a repair.
I think it's got to be a short in the headphone jack or something sticking since it was intermittent. That's the only thing I can think of since it hasn't been dropped at all.
Any help or a link to the rear speaker module part so I can do a direct replacement would be great.
Thanks in advance folks!
Have you tried plugging the headphones back in, then out again? This used to happen to my laptop, however since you said the speaker was intermittent I'm also thinking it may be a completely different issue.

This happened to mine and i found out it was some rubbish stuck in the earphone plug so maybe try somehow cleaning it out ,,, if not then maybe its faulty somewhere.
Mine happened the same. It started hearing the speaker's sound very rare and then it stopped working.... But then I blow into the speaker and the sound came back....
Yeah at this point after cleaning the headphone jack, and even tried blowing into the speaker I'm lust looking to replace the speaker part. No just the ribbon with the front speaker as well, but I am specifically looking for a replacement part for the speaker enclosure unit. So if anyone has any idea where i would pick it up, let me know or shoot me a link to it.
Thanks for the advice folks!

if you want to search for it that way
I sent my first MAXX in for warranty replacement (through Motorola) because the headphones only worked on the left side. The weird part was it was only if the headphones had a built in mic, regular headphones worked fine.
Well, I got my second MAXX and it has the same damned issue. I have tons of headphones and have tried many, its not the headphones.
I have tried disabling all xposed modules and that is not it either.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
P.S.
I sent my maxx in for replacement with it rooted, they didn't care at all. I did this knowingly to see what would happen.
I have three pairs of headphones with microphone and in-line controls (two different Apple earbud models, and a pair of Bose sports earbuds) and they all work 100% fine.

Can someone else that is rooted test and reply? Might be a root issue..

Are you 1000% sure you pushed it in all the way? I had this issue with another device, and eventually found out those headphones usually take a little extra push to get all the way in.

There is another post about this. I had the same issue. I fixed it by using the other cord that came with my Bose that doesn't have a microphone. Now I come to think of it, this mike cable is designed for the iPhone so I shouldn't have been surprised.
I'm experiencing a huge problem with my N5 since yesterday. The speakers aren't working because the phone thinks that the headphones are plugged in. Due to this I can't make calls without headphones. Port itself is working fine. It happens on both 6.0 and Blisspop
Any help would be amazing

Device - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
So just an hour ago, I decided to plug in the headphones and listen to some songs. To my surprise, the headphones didnt work. The phone couldnt detect the headphones. I tried to plug the headphones on other devices and it works flawlessly. I even tried plugging a different pair of headphones to my phone but that didnt work either.
I recently flashed an S9 Rom (S9 rom by Killswitch) and then I was messing around with the substratum theme engine.
The headphones worked when I plugged them like 2 hours ago and I didnt even drop my phone.
I just wanna make sure this isnt a software issue which can be easily fixed.
P.S. Does anyone have an idea how much it costs to get the headphone port repaired if it comes to that?
Thanks.

Update : I installed an app called Lesser AudioSwitch. I set the audio output through headphones and bam! The headphones started to work flawlessly! Then I switched to speakers, speakers worked as they are supposed to then again switched to headphones. They worked. I am convinced that this is a software issue. What do I do? Please help.
