I have a Nexus 5 16 GB, stock everything, never tampered.
For a few days, when I try to make a call in the stock Android dialer, a black background with a small spinning wheel in the middle appears,
then after a few seconds (~5 sec) the regular screen with the contact picture and the end call button is back, and it seems than only now the call is really made. But during the black spin wheel screen I cannot do anything and I don't think the call is going through.
I've tried clearing app data for the dialer, restarting the phone, clearing the system cache, but no success.
Did anyone else experience this?
Any advice?
Thank you.
Hi,
The same problem appear to me two days ago in stock ROM. Searching on google result that this is an old issue and maybe is somehow related to the fact that I use bluetooth for my car audio system. Did you also use bluetooth? The reboot has no effect by the way

I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem. Typically, google navigation will work fine. While in navigator, the screen will go black except for the android notification bar if I receive a call or sms. It will stay like this and none of the buttons will work for a few minutes. During those minutes, I'll hear the phone ring if it's a call but I can't answer it since none of the buttons work. After those minutes pass, things will start working again. I don't think anything is crashing. It just seems like things get terribly overloaded for a bit. I'm running damagecontrol 2.08, but not sure if the rom itself would be the problem.
When i press the home button, the screen stays black for like 10 sec, and then shows me the lockscreen. Also when i make a call, the screen turns black and i only see my signal strenght, battery and wifi indicators. So i cant hang up after i'm done with the conversation, when people call me, i can answer, but i also cant disconnect. Sometimes the force close popup of the process com.android.phone comes up. This is very annoying, does anyone recognize this problem and know's what i can do?
I reinstalled DarKy's rom, I don't think it's a software problem.
something you might want to try to solve the phone problem is downloading a different phone app from the market and setting it as your default phone app. for example "dialer2" fpund in the market might work just fine for you
I've been having an issue with my Infuse for a while where the dialer seems to be causing the entire phone to lag, the only fix is to reboot or force stop the dialer. I've tried a factory reset, downgrade, upgrade, modem, everything. I can't seem to get this issue fixed. After about an hour of using the phone (to make calls or receive them) the phone become unusably slow and calls take FOREVER to end. The little green icon for calls stays up for over 30 seconds and the phone is frozen.
I've done an extensive search and can't seem to find anyone else with this issue.
Any ideas where to start next?
Not sure if this will help, but I use a cache cleaner that runs every night. Seems to clear up any lagging that had developed.
I'm planning my escape from the digital world!
I'm having this issue where the phone doesn't react properly to an incoming call (stock ROM, unrooted).
The phone rings, but the dialer screen with the controls to answer the call does not come up. It doesn't help if the screen is already on, I'm just staring at my home screen while it rings. There's also no call icon in the notification bar. When the caller hangs up, I immediately get a missed call notification.
Rebooting the phone solves the problem for a while, but then it comes back. I tried reverting to the stock dialer with no luck. I'm thinking of reverting to the stock launcher as well, but I'm not sure it has anything to do with it. Other than that I'm running out of ideas.
I've searched the web and it looks like people are experiencing all sorts of variations on this problem, but not the exact same thing, and in any case I haven't seen anyone post a tested workaround.
Has anyone encountered something like this and maybe knows of a solution?
Did you try clearing the data of the phone app in settings > apps?
If not, try that

Hi All,
I've had the phone about 8 months, UK model.
About 2 months ago, when scrolling in Wikipedia pages on Chrome browser, the display would alternate between normal and blue light (eye comfort). It still does occasionally.
From a few weeks ago, the keyboard sometimes take about 10s to appear.
A few days ago when on voice call from the phone other person can't hear me but I can them while voice call on Whatsapp is fine both ways. Restarting phone seems to solved it for now.
Then yesterday while trying to access settings from either the home screen or app drawer, it fails but you can see its attempting to as you see the settings screen momentarily then a message comes up saying settings failed to start several times and whether to restore by clearing history. Doing that doesn't work. The only way that I can is to touch and hold the settings icon till the search option comes up and then type the particular setting I want.
Before I do anything to fix this, are these symptoms an indication the phone is on the way to a complete breakdown? Would it be a software problem and I suppose the 1st step to fix is factory reset.
Has anyone experience this on their phone?
Reset the phone to factory settings

Unfortunately it's the Oppo software that causes these issues... We hope we can unlock the bootloader soon and flash custom roms to remedy these problems since Oppo are just incompetent.
Chrome colour shift is fixed by typing into your chrome address bar and type: "chrome://flags" then search "Dynamic Color Gamut" and set it to disabled (or it was enabled, I forget since I didn't have the issue myself)
Oppo uses the wrong microphone on third party apps like whatsapp, signal, instagram etc. and we have to wait for an update to fix that. (Issue has been posted here before)
The rest of the issues you described sound like some software instability caused by the Android 11 update. You should save your data and do a factory reset.
If the issues persist after the reset and you didn't install any dodgy apps or modified the software using adb then consider sending the phone in for repair.
OK thanks for replies. So factory reset then...
