Okay, my Note 12.2 (SM-P900) was rooted, had TWRP 2.7 and running fine until I did the latest update via Kies. After unrooting and letting Kies update to P900UEU1ANC5, I rerooted using CF Auto root and reinstalled TWRP 2.7. Everything went as planned and I began setting up my wifi, Google info, etc. All of a sudden the screen starting flickering off and on and the battery level seemed to drop from 85% to 15% (it started beeping and said battery low, connect to charger) in about 30 minutes or so. And yes I did check the battery level before starting and it was at 93%. So before I got a chance to grab the charger the screen went black and would not come back on. I plugged up, waited a few minutes and hit the power button. The only thing one the screen was the big battery charging icon and it was a little over half green already. I wait and hour or so, try it again and same thing. So I am thinking reboot into download, re-install the .tar through Odin and everything should be golden. Nope...I can only boot up into download or recovery mode when its plugged into the wall, as soon as I unplug, it shuts off as if I had a dead battery. I left it plugged up, (charging?) last night and all day today, just checked it and the same thing. So without being able to get into download mode and connect to a pc what else can I do. Is there any way to maybe load a zip file onto the ext storage and flash it via TWRP???
Worst case scenario would mean dropping it on purpose to break the screen and replace it under protection plan at BB. And I REALLY do not want to do that
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, many thanks!!!
Reward through Paypal for anyone who can get me up and running, lol.
bump..
I suggest downloading the ANC5 firmware from sammobile and flash back to stock using Odin 3.09 in Download Mode. Then if it still won't boot, send it back to BB for a replacement.

Actually on my way to BB this morning. I have a copy of the ANC5 firmware but because it wont hold a charge I cannot connect to the pc and go into download mode. PC USB port is not strong enough to charge the battery.
I wonder if there's an issue with your charger. Try your phone charger

Just got back from BB with a new NotePro 12.2!! They tried several chargers and none of them worked and since I have not had it a month they decided to give me a new one as opposed to sending it out for service.
That's good news then

So I wake up this morning and my AT&T Skyrocket won't turn on. I can't even get it into download mode - it does nothing.
It was working fine last night, I plugged it into my usual wall charger and went to bed (turned on). Woke up this morning to find it off and can't even get the Samsung logo to show up.
The phone kept bugging me about the 2.3.6 OTA update so I deleted the wssyncmlnps files from /system/app the other day. It rebooted fine after that. The only other thing I did (weeks) ago was root it - I'm using the AT&T stock rom - have not used any other roms.
It's not the battery - I've tried 3 spares that I know to be fully charged.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Try pulling battery, insert battery, plug in USB to phone, hold both volume buttons, then plug USB to computer
That might trigger DL mode
Hope it works for you man..
edit
PS
This would go in Q&A section
Assuming you know how to get into DL and CWM and it won't work, try a jig. If not, nothing to do but warranty or try jtag

Tried that - no dice. Phone doesn't do anything. When I plug it into my PC it says USB device not recognized.
Same thing happened to my brothers infuse. He had to pull battery, plug in charger, wait for battery icon to show up (even though the battery wasn't in it), then Put battery back in and boot. it was insane.
Called AT&T and they replaced it.

Tried that - even when plugged in the phone wouldn't do anything at all - no charging battery screen - absolutely nothing.
Took it to one of the AT&T repair centers today and they swapped it for a new one, although this new one has 2.3.6 and my previous one had 2.3.5.
The really weird thing is that there was another lady there who had the same phone with the same exact problem as me (phone dead this morning - won't charge, won't go into recovery mode), and they ended up just giving her a new phone as well.
Wonder if it has something to do with that OTA update.

So about 2 weeks ago, i rooted my phone and flashed over the nightly version of CWM. Ran fine for about a week, afterwards i noticed a big battery drain. Then started the freezes, and finally the random restarting. During this time, it would commonly get my battery percentage wrong( Ex: It would say 20% but then die. I would turn it back on and it would say 5. Take out the battery, put it back in, and it would say something like 12%.) Yesterday, i had about 20% left, and it just turns off. Wont turn back on. I get home, plug it up, and its in a charging screen boot loop. Plug in-Go to charging screen-Turn off-repeat. It will do that repeatedly, as long as it's plugged in. I've looked it up, and it looks like it's the SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome) and that Samsung can only fix it under warranty. The problem is, I didn't get this through a carrier contract, i bout it basically new online. Any help? Anyone have advice on how to fix it, or what to do?

Can you still boot into download mode?
Doesn't sound like it's dead, but something weird is going on. Anyway, Odin back to stock and see if your problem persists. This could very likely fix it.
If it does still persist, I bet Samsung has a way to track the serial or imei number to tell how old the phone actually is and when it was activated. I'd call them up anyway and see what they can do.

I have not tried Download mode, only a regular boot. Should i have an option for a stock install in odin? I had a CWM backup, but it kept getting a bad sum error, so now i no longer have my stock ROM.

Once you're in download mode all you have to do is flash a tar file of a stock Rom through Odin, it's located in the development stickies.

Well, i got home, took out my battery held the power button for 30 seconds..and it worked. My luck, right? I dont know how many times i tried that, but now it decides to work. Thanks for the advice, i guess this can be locked now!
So I just picked up this s3, it will turn on but shuts off halfway through galaxy splash screen. Boots into recovery and Odin mode just fine, prior to purchasing we plugged it in, got it to boot and did a factory reset, to clear privious owners data, and it went fine, did it reboot and took me to setup. Satisfied with its performance I went ahead and made the purchase, upon unplugging it shut off, as I expected if battery was indeed shot. What gets me is I let it charge, unplugged, booted, shut off at splash screen, plug back in and says its still fully charged. Boot into recovery and indeed, 100% battery. I haven't gotten around to flashing twrp or rooting, was wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Anyone got any ideas? Just got home, am able to boot past the splash screens as long as its plugged in but once I try to start using it (going through setup/tutorial) it ends up rebooting, computer can read phone in odin/recovery modes but don't see a point reflashing stock firmware if this phone was never touched, completely stock unrooted, just a factory reset upon purchasing. I've read somewhere about a stuck power button, is that common among the Verizon s3? If so ill pop it open and check it out.
Phone was already on 4.4 when I got it, I downloaded and flashed stock firmware (ne1) via odin, I got the whole way to the end of setup and as soon as it started loading the homescreen it cut off and went to the green battery charge icon when phones off. Everytime I try and boot it, she'll go through all the splash screens and ill catch a very short glimpse of the homescreen and it shuts off. Also it HAS to be plugged in still, or else it just shuts off halfway through initial "galaxy s3" splash.. I don't understand...
Have you tried a new battery? Even if it's plugged in it won't run if the battery is completely shot.
Also if you indeed have a Verizon S3 on NE1 firmware you will not be able to install TWRP as the bootloader is locked. You will be able to root, however.

The stuck power button seems to affect users IN recovery mode too, it seems like phone randomly reboots in recovery.
You can pick up a new battery from amazon for like $7 I think, its been a while, but might be worth it.
It could also maybe be some issue in transferring charge from the battery to the main board, meaning maybe bad connections/contacts.
Is it plugged in when it reboots, because that may indicate poor contacts, since the charger alone isn't able to power the device (ex I used to be able to take out my LG Ally battery when plugged in and it functioned fine).
Good luck!

Turns out it was the battery all along, found a battery that the contacts matched on (even though it was only 1650 mAh) wedged it in with paper and it booted just fine. Found a battery on craigslist that night and has worked great ever since, unfortunately PO had already updated to 4.4.2 so im stuck with that Thanks for the response, I just found it odd that the battery held a charge just didn't work.. maybe I should check the contacts on that and clean them.

I think I really outdid myself this time, was installing an official firmware on my fiancee's phone(Blur_Version.98.50.26.XT925.Brasil.en.BR) trough RSD Lite (6.1.6) and at the end of the process the phone shut down and didn't finish the rebooting process. Since then I can't get it to turn on or access fastboot. Even connecting it to a charger wont turn the led on.
So, the hard questions to ask:
1. Is there anything I can do? Anything at all?
2. Even if I can't. What may have happened? I used RSD other times and I have modded half a dozen phones and a brick happened to me before.
Thank you so much, I am probably gonna get chewed since her work depends on it and we will have to get an other one, but any nudge in the right direction or cold hard truths will be appreciated.
Stephen
It almost seems like the battery died while you were flashing. What was the battery at when you started?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I would try a Motorola Factory Adapter or mod a USB cable to act like one. If it still fails to boot then your looking at a hard brick.

Quick update, this morning when I connected to a power source it turned the green light on(left ir connecting for the night). Tried connecting to my pc and it will play the connected/disconnected sounds over and over again. Still can't fastboot it.
I imagine it might have been some sort of battery issue but it was over 60% when I began installing the firmware and the process took less than 10 minutes.

Flashing will kill battery. You should always try to do it with a full battery. Anywho, does anything show up in the device manager on your PC when you connect the phone?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
Nope, my pc will make sounds as if it was being plugged and unplugged repeatedly.
Also when I press the power and volume buttons to reboot in fastboot or recovery (the cell was unlocked, rooted and had the latest JB philz recovery ) the green light will flash but the screen wont turn on.
Nothing shows up at all? That sucks. Hmmm, leave the phone on the charger overnight and then see if you can get into fastboot.

My tablet is within the 30 day return window, so I am not freaking out. I have the Verizon version 905. The tablet was rooted. It worked fine for a couple of weeks. Last night I rebooted and the tablet's batter went from 50 to 30 in one reboot. I plugged it in to charge and it was taking longer than usual. It was charging at 1 or 2 percent an hour. It was at 82% when I rebooted then it was at 100%. I rebooted it one more time, and it has not turned back on. If I hold the power button on for 5 seconds, it vibrates but no lights turn on (buttons or screen). Anyone have suggestions?
Kurt
Get into download mode and flash stock. What version were you on when it crapped out?
Sounds like a faulty battery to me.

Finally Turned On
When I got it, it already had a Gmail account on it. It was suppose to be new. Everything looked new...I figured it was just an open box. I am not taking any chance, so I am sending it back. I need to flash stock back on it. The model number is SM-P905V. It is running P905VVRUANE4. (Verizon LTE Model) I purchased it without service. I am getting ready to search the forums. If anyone has a link to the instructions, I would appreciate it.

More Informaion and Question
Please let me give you a little more detail, so I can get your opinion about what happen. I entered the boot loader and accidentally hit the volume up button and the device went into downloading mode. I did not have Odin connected, so I did a hard reset. I was unable to turn the device on for 30 minutes or so. Would this have caused my problem or do you think it was a battery issue? Thanks in advance for your opinion.
Kurt
So you're saying that you can still boot the device and use it but it's not stable and can't hold a charge? If so I agree with shadowlea, it's likely a battery issue.
