[Q] Bluetooth 3.0 vs. 4.0 Headset profile difference?! - General Questions and Answers

Hello forum,
I'm using a Jabra Supreme bluetooth headset with my Galaxy Note 2.
When I'm making a skype / VoIP call, the sound quality is excellent. When I do a call to the same number via regular cellular connection however, the sound quality is less than mediocre (and also worse than without the headset).
Does anyone know why that is like that?
I'm assuming that the phone uses different bluetooth profiles for cellular connection, and when I'm doing a voip call.
But it should be the same profile (HSP). It can't be A2DP, because the sound transfer one only goes one-way. The only other possible profile is "Hands-free-profile".
The headset supports bluetooth 3.0, whereas the Galaxy Note 2 supports 4.0. Is it possible that the audio quality under the HSP profile with bluetooth 3.0 is lower than with bluetooth 4.0?
Anyone any ideas?

Anyone else getting loss of speaker audio after BT connections?

Hi all, I have had this bug in varying flavours with both the Wizard and now the Kaiser.
If I make a call via Bluetooth (certain devices only e.g. JVC in car stereo), after the call, all audio is lost on the device when using the speaker, e.g. no ringtones, no TomTom voice guidance.
Strangely the touchtone sounds on the phone dialler continue to work.
Making another call via Bluetooth works fine and all audio is heard, but not if calling via the earpiece of the phone.
It is like Bluetooth is 'stealing' the audio from the phone's speaker (which is should), but not giving it back at the end.
Currently am running WM6.1 Sleuth 3.0 on the TyTN II. Any advice appreciated.

Bluetooth profile

The htc have the Bluetooth stereo audio profile.
And can buy a SE HCB-105 Bluetooth cheap. but it runs on headset profile and (darn) one more profile i dont remember, that i have to look up tomorrow.
but is it possible to get more bluetooth profile on the touch pro?
I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but I own Plantronics P590 bluetooth stereo headset and there are two bluetooth profiles I which I can use to connect it with my TP:
Hands free (mono connection for answering phone calls f.e.)
Stereo Headset (stereo connection for listening to music f.e.)
And I can even use both connections at the same time. So what would you need more?

[Q] Bluetooth Headset Problem

I want to use Spype on my G Tablet - bought myself a bluetooth headset. I can connect no problem (can even toggle it on and off with the home screen button application) it beeps indicating the connection.
But when I do calls I doesn't use the mic and speaker of the headset. Matter of fact it seems like it messed up with my audio setting because my built-in speakers don't seem to work anymore.
Any thoughts?
Sometimes I have the same issue. If you want speakers back, try disconnecting from the Bluetooth device. If that doesn't fix it, just reboot. I just posted another comment about the impossibility to use a bluetooth headset, not just for output, but for audio input also. I guess this is because there's no HSP or HFP bluetooth profiles implemented on the g tablet, just a2dp, which is why it just can stream audio to an output device, like a bluetooth stereo headset or car audio. BTW, I discovered this when trying to achieve exactly what you tried to do, making calls using Skype.

[Q] Problem with BT Headset and Dialer (T311, cm-11, 4.4.4)

My new Bluethooth headset Plantronics M25 and the standard telephon-app "dialer" in the don't work together error-free. No audio communication or intense disturbance with low volume. The BT mode in the dialer is active and the control functions are ok.
The media-audio output over the headset works, but there are frequently interrupts in the music, e.g. play with poweramp (mp3) or browser. Skype also works. DSP-manager and the new noise suppression disabled. The headset work fine with my other smartphone.
I use the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 (T311) with the latest build (cm-11-20140720-UNOFFICIAL-lt013g).
Is there a bug in the "dialer"?

[Q] Bluetooth Headset / Car issue when using Skype or Hangouts

Hello
I’m trying to resolve an issue i have with my Sony MW1 Bluetooth headset when doing Skype or Hangouts calls
For some reason when using a Bluetooth headset (Used a Sony MW1 Smart Wireless Headset Pro, set and a Fiat Blue&Me Car Bluetooth) the sound keeps breaking off both for me and the person I’m calling. I get long brake after witch the sound returns for a while.
I tried LTE/HSPA and WiFi calls all with the same result
When using a wired headset there is no issue like this. nor do I have the issue when i do regular phone calls using the sets
Furthermore sometimes the Bluetooth sound doesn’t turn on at all, so I get no sound neither on the loudspeaker nor on the Bluetooth set although the BT volume is set to max
Any idea how to resolve this?
