[Q] Problems with Java

Hi
I wanted to start writing my own .apk's, so I read the instructions etc., and got to the point where I have to install java for developers.
I wanted to test a fw things using Apk.Manager 4.9 and what I get is the info:
Java was not found, you will not be able to sign apks or use apktool

I looked for a resulution using Google and all I found was a few posts telling me to set Javas path. So I went into cmd and tried to set the path, but it didn't work, so I don't know what am I doing wrong.
Additional info:
Java installed: jdk1.6.0_20 + jre6 + javafx-sdk1.3
System: Win 7 64 bit (Java is installed in folder named Program Files (x86))
I'd appreciate a detailed instruction - noob type one :E

I usually right click my computer, go to advanced system options, click enviroment variables and edit path there...

If the path is ok, then I don't get why the problem still occurs? Should I add jdk1.6.0_20 from normal Java folder (not JavaFX) to the path? :E
edit: in cmd it's like... "path=C:\etc.?" :E

The path i put in is "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_22\bin"

Note: this app will work on any phone having gingerbread rom installed in it (custom/stock etc) not tested on ICS or JB.

Installation Instruction:
(Manual Method)
1. Download the gtalk.zip and extract it

Note: after extracting the zip there will 2 folders goto system folder and you will find 2 more folders 1. APP & 2. Lib. Firstly open up app folder and copy talk.apk then follow step no.2
2. Now goto system/app and make the backup of "talk.apk" and paste the extracted one from the zip
3. Now change the ownership & properties as shown below
Now goto the lib folder extracted from zip and copy the content it contains and head straightly to system/lib folder
4. Now copy and paste the file from zip's folder to system/lib and change its ownership and properties as well shown below
If you follow the instrctions as discribed you will surely get this app working!
You can also flash this zip file from recovery but it doesnt worked for me thats why i explained the manual method for you!
Note: if the app dissapears just reboot and then it should be appeared!

1.Download files from attachments and extract it to C Drive or in the partition where your windows is installed.

2.Disable your windows User Account Control UAC and run the Program.
3.If you have root access choose 1 and if not choose 2.
4.if you choose 2 then it will ask you to paste the recovery in the extracted folder.
5.After Pressing enter it will ask you the partition type which your phone have emmc or MTD
6.let the Process Complete. after this you will another folder in the extracted folder.
7.Open that folder and you will get your PORTED RECOVERY
8.Now use Smart phone flash tool (SP flash tool) to flash the ported recovery.
Now flash SuperSu.zip and get the Root access

Hello,
You don't have to "Convert" but just to rename the extensions of the file to flash it. For example if it is C6903_Unbranded.zip you have change it to C6903_Unbranded.ftf. If you do not see the extensions on your PC go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalizations > Folder Options > View, then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", now you can rename it and done.

FAILED (remote : variable not found) when flashing stock images

I get that error message when flashing the stock images on my unlocked google pixel 3. I now have no OS on my phone I don't believe as booting it up shows "unknown command".
Anyone know what to do?

Try flashing the system.img to both slots.

I had the same problem but managed to resolve it.
the way to do it is to do the followings:
1) Install the updated adb tool files from google official framework website here (Very very very important)
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
2) download the factory image file and unzip it inside a folder. For example "A"
3) after unzipping the rom file, you will find another rom file, unzip it also to the same folder "A"
4) unzip the adb tool downloaded from step 1 and put them in the same folder "A"
5) Double click on "Flash all" to execute the command.
6) Enjoy
