Hey..
You can use this app to monitor your data usage per app wise.(there is a free version available too)
Also you can use a firewall app to restrict the mobile data or wifi usage for any app you want.
Cheers.

i need an app to supervise other apps
i need it to
tell me what apps is using the internet and to stop the ones i choose
the process running in the back without the system processes
also to save a log for the apps and what they are doing.
plz if someone knows an app that can do this or different apps
help me.
I use Onavo for the monitoring, you can restrict apps to wifi easily & it'll tell you which apps are potential data hogs. I find it easier to navigate than the ICS built in data monitor
You can also tell it your data limit & it'll give you usage info & awarning when you're near your limit

Droidwall can block specific apps from using wifi or 3g.

I use onavo, it alerts you to the apps that consume more data. and if you want to control the use of the apps battery, Badass battery.
Avast Mobile Security
Which Doubles As A Capable Antivirus Too
Now Thank You In Advance For You Thanking Me
LBE Privacy Guard. So many possibilites to control your apps premissions, that you will be able to supervise any event that apps are trying to run it in backround. Sending sms by apps, reading contact list, using gps localisation... many many more. You can also set profiles for apps (disable 3g but let enable wifi for your app for example, or reject/accept both. It's short discripition what can this app do. Check more at dev page. Must have for rooted. And Free.

My data stats show that "android OS" consumed about 200 mb? Is this normal? I mean, i don.t care about costs, but could a malicious app use kernel for transmiting my personal data to a third party site?
Is it possible?
Tjank you

Nobody can exactly say the data consumed by their android.
But 200 mb in your case is very higher. That may not be by the os only,
See is there any download or any app(s) running at background.
So stop all the apps in seetings>app manager and see the consumption again.

200 mb is never ok for your os to consume see if an update occured in that month ! My android os usage is 30 mb.

Aloha there...
Head over to f-droid.org and install networklog, root required thought. It gives a very detailed report about network traffic.
Happy network loggin...
Android FOSS repository https://f-droid.org/
I searched and remembered that i was having sync on, so that could be an explanation.
Thank you for your responses

to prevent consuming too much data you could install "3G Watchdog app" it monitors your data every minute and send a notification (plus vibration) if you exceed your traffic data limit
The sync-on triggered that much data usage by your OS.
Its normally around 40 to 60 mbs approx.

If your phone is rooted, it is easy possible, for example firewall in official play store Avast Mobile Security. No possibility without root.

You can still do it without root privileges.
Use LostNet Firewall.
It creates a fake VPN connection which intercepts all traffic and filters it based on your rules.
It allows to block some apps while on mobile.
You can also block some apps at all times.
You can block access to any country.
New features are released every week.
The next release will have 3 new ways of blocking networking traffic.
You can also use Mobiwol. Is free from Google Play and it also uses the VPN features to block and allow apps based on what you tell it to do. It also blocks Foreground and Background apps as well.

Use greenify it hibernate a app meaning the app is temporarily freeze so it will prevent eating battery or unexpected background processes but when you open it it will play normally... you wil need root
For monitoring data use wakelock detector... im not sure when you need a root acess for that..
to save more battery i personally use one power guard .. need root access...
All of them are available at google play store for free

im just tryin' to help, so i hope it helps... :good:

My Data Manager and Onavo are the two best apps that I have used practically to keep track of the data usage for my mobile.
Hi all.
So my mobile provider offers mobile data and what they call "socializer" data too. My current plan is 1.25gb of mobile and 1gb of socializer data. I know that you can set data caps on data so you don't exceed you monthly usage but I had an idea of an app that you can set data limits in and once that limit is reach only selected apps will use mobile data.
I know that IFTT is a very powerful app but didn't see anyway of cooking up such a recipe. Is there a way to do this with IFTT or is there any other app available that already does this? If so I haven't managed to find it. If I knew anything about app development I would be creating an app to do this myself but I know nothing of android development or app development.
Any one keen to have a go at creating an app like this or maybe tell me how I might go about developing this idea into a functional app??
Cheers all
