ROMs Tested: Vanir, SOKP, Liquid Smooth, Carbon
Gapps: PA Gapps, Banks Gapps
Camera app: Google Camera, Oneplus Camera, Stock Camera
Problem: Camera FC after signing into Gapps and letting everything on playstore update.
Clearing the davlik/cashe will let the camera open when I first reboot but after 30 seconds it FC again.
Logcat: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9FlgYaHykCCMWoydDQ0a3NfTnc/edit?usp=sharing
(open oneplus camera, FC as soon as it opens)
Any advice would be wonderful.

sounds like you are missing some lib files as well. it could actually be rom related or xposed related if you have it installed. im using banks gapps on lichtis rastakat, the camera works great.

The camera use to work great, and It only doesnt work if I sign into my google account (works if I sign into my brothers google account).
but it still works on my nandroid from last week.
Xposed isnt installed right now when its not working but it is installed where it is working (nandroid). so I doubt xposed is my issue.

Google play services updates when ever I sign into either account, but the camera only stop working when I sign into my account. Xpposed isnt installed. and the only way to get the camera working again is to re install the rom. (signing out doesnt fix it)
Seems to work up till the part where google+ wants to upload my photos and vids then it stops working
I left it alone without signing in and it borked the camera too. I have no idea what it could be.
try this, if youre up for an adventure. delete your camera app. uninstall it from the market and delete it from /system/app/ using a root file explorer. delete the gallery as well. reboot, no camera installed, right? now flash this file in recovery, its the camera and gallery app http://goo.gl/orWkC0 thats the older camera app btw. now go to the play store, install the new camera. and try again.

Well now the phone doesnt get any signal and randomly reboots on stock. I called google and they are sending me a replacement for that and the dead pixel I have been putting up with. Hopefully it is fully covered and the new phone doesnt have problems. If I do get charged I'll sell the phone as soon as the oneplus one is fully out.
good luck

Though it'll be great if Yajnab integrates gapps in cm 11 as soon as possible, it would save more space, since link2sd is not fully working and mounts2sd is not at all working (not mounting sd-ext), and in our galaxy fit, storage space is one of the chief problems we encounter
I pulled the Camera (Camera2), Gallery (HMS_Gallery_GP) and Photo Editor (HMS_PhotoEnhancer_GP) apps from LlabTooFeR's A9 dump (link). I wanted to see if they'd work on my GPE-converted HTC One M8 running Android Marshmallow 6.0 (MRA58K).
Update: I've uploaded a new version that I hope works without needing to flash the APK afterwards. Additionally, at least for me, the Photo Editor is now working, including some of the Duo effects that haven't worked on my GPE for a long time. UFocus and Foregrounder don't appear to be working correctly, but at least they don't FC.
Flashable zip. I use TWRP2. Root is required.
Please note: It's been pointed out to me that the standard GPE image leaves very little space in the system partition. Not enough for the HTC apps, which are sort of large. If you're seeing that the zip isn't flashing correctly, please clear some space on your system partition (removing unwanted System G/Apps), before flashing.
Thanks to Arkaydez for some debugging.
Thanks to danial.aw for pointing out issues with GPE system partition size.
Post back with your experience. I'd like to know if it's working for everyone.
Download (Version 2)
Just flashed, Camera app showed up but force closes. Neither the Gallery or Editor app are installed.

Thanks for giving it a try and feeding back. Feeling like helping me debug it?
Here's my experience when I flash it:
- When the phone restarts, there is a permission request waiting for the Gallery app.
- When you start the camera app, it requests three permissions.
- The applications and their associated libraries are installed to:
/system/priv-app/Camera2/
/system/priv-app/HMS_Gallery_GP/
/system/priv-app/HMS_PhotoEnhancer_GP/
Does your experience reflect that?
Thanks!
2 days ago I just downloaded this A9 camera from Google Play. It installed normally, for first run it asked for permission and work great. But every next open cause FC. Anyway, I think that original camera app from M8 is better, it is also to download from GP and doesn't FC.
I flashed the zip and Apps isnt shown in the menu. So I opened the zip and installed the apk's manually. Camera and Photo Editor gave FC. Gallery is opened but didnt show any pic.
Didnt work for me.
My rom is GPE Android 6.0 - Build MRA58K.H6

You can't install the apks manually, unfortunately. They need to go into priv-app, since they require system permissions. That's what's causing the FCs. If you've installed them, and they're sitting in /system/app, you can move them (root explorer, etc.) to /system/priv-app. Then at least the camera and gallery should work.

Interesting. Unfortunately, for me, when I go to Google Play, it tells me that both versions of the HTC camera (Camera and Camera2) are incompatible with my phone and won't let me install. I assumed that's because it was a GPE. If you download and install from APK Mirror, or install it from the market somehow, I think that it puts the APKs and libraries into /system/app, which will cause it to FC. The camera assumes it's pre-installed into /system/priv-app, and is therefore entitled to system permissions. When it's installed to /system/app, it makes system storage calls, which aren't allowed, and FCs.
That's why I thought the flashable zip would be the way to go.
I was able to avoid all the FC's by 1st flashing your zip and then installing the a9 cam apk from apk mirror. b

Thanks for that. I had previously installed the APK from APK mirror, so maybe there's some secret sauce missing from the zip. Does the Photo Editor work for you now, or does it still FC?

hi...what i did was to push the latest camera downloaded from htc apk site, if i m not mistaken link was provided above, into /system/priv-app, and chmod folder to 755 n file to 644 n reboot. after rebootin, i open the camera but it FC. i reinstalled the same apk, n it works ok
I just installed the apk and it works for me
i installed the zip file .and then the file from apkmirror .The camera isn't FC-ing. but it doesn't save any picture when i take one. can it be due to converting my SD into internal ?
also, when i click "reset to default". it starts FC-ing

I'm not sure. Have you tried the new (v2) zip? Did it prompt you for permissions for storage? The camera should have prompted you for 4 permissions, and the gallery for 1.

How different is it from the Sense 7 version?

I've been seeing quite a few posts on reddit about problems encountered when updating to CM13, and although I haven't used XDA in a while, thought maybe you guys could use some help
When updating, make sure you have Marshmallow Gapps. If you accidentally update and you don't have the gapps downloaded, you can always ADB it through the recovery (which is what I did).
You will almost inevitably have Google Play Services crash on you. A lot. So go to settings, apps, find GPS (make sure to have show system apps enabled) and make sure all permissions are checked for GPS. This fix works on other constantly crashing apps too.
If this doesn't work, or if all the permissions are already enabled, the next step is just to clear data within the app.
These two steps fix alomst all problems to do with apps constantly (or not constantly crashing after updating to CM13.
Find CM13 downloads/changelogs here for all the different devices.
Use the appropriate Gapps file from here. Make sure you select the correct platform.
Any further questions/stuff you want to add to this please post below!
Is it really needed to flash Gapps ? If i just want to experience the ROM can i just not flash the Gapps ?

No Gapps means no contacts imported from Gmail.. No Gmail.. No Play store.. No Play Services.. Apps would be redundant as well.

Yeah, like geekynoob said, you don't theoretically NEED to flash gapps, but you will lose all Google functionality within your device. You won't be able to access playstore, gmail, use chrome, anything. If that's what you want, then sure, go for it, but there's very little point unless you're doing something quite custom.
What if i install gmail, chrome and other apk's directly will it work ?

Those individual apps will work, yes, but remember Gapps is more than just that. The setup wizard, Android Pay, most of the Sync options, Google Play Games, e.t.c. It's definitely worth installing Gapps if you're going to be using Google services. Why are you thinking of not flashing gapps?

Yesterday I did flashed Resurrection Remix on my Old Samsung Note 2 without Gapps and it was way faster. After flagging Gapps it became lagy. So i removed Gapps and manually installed gmail YouTube and chrome and now it is faster and light.

Fair enough. Reason Gapps lag out the phone sometimes (they shouldn't with a OnePlus One) is because of all the extra functionality they add. Also, remember stuff like PlayStore doesn't work, so you'll have to either use a third party store or download all your apps from online. You can get very light Gappshere which shouldn't lag out your phone nearly as much.
Hey,
I just installed cm13.1 by Team Superluminal on my mi4c. Somehow I can't find snapdragon Camera on my device. Can someone please post a flashable zi for the app. Regards
It's already the default camera app. No need to flash anything. To enable some more advanced feature though, tap 7 times on Screen Brightness option and it will unlock additional setting.
For me it is not installed the only camera app I can find is the Google camera. I used the open GApps stock package. Maybe this somehow replaces the default camera app?

I guess. In all of my flashing i install the mini package though.
So can anybody please extract the snapcamera app as zip or apk and post it here. Would help me a lot. I think it's possible using fe titanium backup.
Edit I tried reflashing the rom without GApps. No changes : Google camera remains the standard camera apk

You need to wipe before reflashing the ROM, otherwise Google Camera may remain.
Use a version of the GApps that does not contain Google Camera. Google Camera replaces your default Snapdragon Camera: https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Package-Comparison

I had the same issue. Installed com.oneplus.camera_3.8.116-23270457_minAPI28(arm64-v8a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com because 3.8.xxx is shipped in official OxygenOS builds. I was able to take images with the front camera (long press on app > selfie), but whenever switching to back camera, the app crashes. I did record a logcat but don't know if anybody can help with that...
Unfortunately, it will not work. Reason why is the Oneplus Camera app requires some system frameworks to be installed. Thats why on 3rd party roms without the cam app, it is incredibly unstable/broken. One roms where the oneplus cam is stock, it will work fine because the devs included the necessary cam frameworks. Unfortunately, your only solutions is to either use gcam, or install a rom that has oos cam installed by default.
Cheers.
