[Q] Problem with RAM of HTC one S after flash maximushd rom - HTC One S

Hi everyone,
Im using HTC one S (S4 chip) with maximusHD rom. I checked the total of RAM by using Hardware information function under setup and using Antutu Benchmark and I have got 2 results are different. One is 1gb, one is 782mb like in attached picture.
HTC published that HTC one s come with 1gb of ram. So any one can tell me where is fact of my ram. If it is 782mb so how I can get enough RAM to 1gb.
Thanks all in advanced

Sum the 2 in the second picture.

How I can get enough of Ram, have anyone here, plz help me

HTC One S ville it's 1gb ram.
Buy a phone with 2,3 gb ram.

I think all ram I have is 782mb and 119 is free (used =782-119)
I also used Cpuz to check and get result as picture. Total is 782 and free is 129. I have calculated % of free by 129/782 =~16% like in the pics.
I sure that my 782mb ram is total ram, not used ram.
So I want ask where is remaining my ram
Thanks

Maximus HD is a SENSE rom. Ram eater. Uninstal or deactivate what you don't need.
Or better try a 4.4.2 rom.

I think you can ignore the total RAM amount. It might be that the OS cannot see it all because the kernel reserved some.
You still have 1 GB but not all of it is accessible by the apps.
Take my comment with a grain of salt as I've not looked at the source code.

[Q] How is htc gonna put a full filesystem on 1 gb of internal memory?

One of the things that bug me about the sensation is the ridiculous amount of internal memory it has, i now we'll be using the sd card most of the time, but i cannot stop wondering how is htc gonna do to fit the whole filesystem on 1 gb of internal memory? i currently have an inspire 4g and even using a rom without the at&t bloatware i only have available 1.2 gb of the internal memory's 4 gb
I'm pretty sure the 1gb is just for apps. Then system stuff has its own partition, then some left over for user storage

It has 4GB internal memory, of which 1gb can be accessed by the user
I'm pretty sure it has 1gb, the evo3d has 4.
For what I know there will be 550mb free, there should be a video showing it.

The evo 3d has 1 gig of memory 3 inaccessible to the user. The g2 had the same so did the my touch 4g same as always with HTC. They always had 4 gig rom.

Yes, but they also have 4gb rom on the spec sheet. Or 1.x gb accessible to user. The sensation only has 1gb rom according to specs.

I honestly doubt that HTC has 1 gig rom only alone since we actually have 1 gig accessible to the user. That already makes 2. The spec sheet is wrong on that aspect every one thought that g2 had 4 gigs of space but it only had 1 usable by us.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
You might be right but every phone on the htc site has the physical/ total memory on the spec sheet. For example the desire has 512mb accordion to spec, well that is not the free space accessible to the user. I highly doubt this is any different for the sensation.
Also a Dutch tech site wrote, after a hands on at mwc, that the free memory was 550mb with a total memory of 1gb.

The g2 does have a 4gig internal chip same as the sensation. But because of the way the chip is set up and way files are stacked it basically is a 2gig but read and writes faster. So there is 2gig total basically but radio and system pretty leave roughly 1 gig. No big deal though.

You can look here : http://www.htc.com/us/products/sensation4g-tmobile#tech-specs
It says : "768 MB RAM, 4 GB Internal Storage (1 GB user addressable)"
I think that 1 Go for apps (+ legal App 2 Sd) and the 8 Go microSD are widely enough.

Now that's more like it! , thanks!
Damn, moving from 16GB internal (Vibrant) to 1GB internal is going to be a pain, but I'll handle it.
Vodafone uk confirm 4gig & 1gig user.

But even the 16gb internal vibrant wasn't true app installable since it was 16 internal sdcard. Vibrant only truly used 2gb for apps.
That said, when I dropped my POS Vibrant for a G2, I was disappointed by only having 1.13gb internal for apps, but I've never gone above 500mb, that's roughly 170 apps which is nuts for a phone anyway. Lol, I'd rather have the 1gb of ram that everyone else its getting.

How many free rams for htc sensation??

I'm planning to upgrade my phone to sensation before galaxy s3. I would like to find out before I purchase, especially when installed ics firmware. Thx

There's 768MB total.
Around 581MB is for apps. Rest reserved for system.

Available ram on ICS as opposed to GB

Just flashed Sky ICS and I have to admit its amazing. But I have noticed available ram to be substantialy lower then with GB. ICS hovers around 200mb and GB is around 480 to 530 mb available. Anyone else experiancing this?
Ics probably caches more available memory for performance purposes. Nothing to worry about

I have noticed that free ram is down, also. But the rom I am running is so much smoother I don't worry about...

Android 4.0 RAM Requirement

What is the optimal amount of RAM a phone must have to run Ice Cream sandwhich efficently?
I think ics requires at least 1gig. Custom roms may be able to run on less but it's not ideal.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Having used a Droid OG with 256mb of RAM on ICS, I can honestly say it sucks balls. There's virtually no multitasking, everything closes.
But 512mb seems to be good nonetheless. The HTC Aria with 384mb of RAM has a pretty good ICS ROM as well...
As long as its stock ICS, it doesn't require too much RAM at all. 512mb seems to be a good, solid amount however.

Optimus 2X is coming out with ICS soon (finally).
It has 384MB ram available, 128 goes to the GPU.
Will report back after it's out, but it should be fine.

I know, but more attention to finer details never killed anyone
Plus it's worthwhile mentioning how much is restricted to GPU usage, some phones might use less, or more. So saying 512MB as a blanket statement isn't going to cover all phones.

You can say that again. My x8 is barely coping. 168mb of ram on a good day
Ics runs smooth on legeng with 300+ ram. Don't know the exact value.
Mororola mailstome had 512 mb of ram and this enought for ICS and JB.
While there is no official requirement (and there are ports to the G1 with a beefy 96mb of ram) its accepted that 512mb would be required to run it well

i think that the requirement is approxymatly between 300 because my galaxy ace work very nice with 278 ram 4.04

maybe it's a good phone. it doesn't cost too much for the features that it offers
Looks good, but I would worry about the 512MB of RAM and the FWVGA resolution on a 5" screen. For the price though, great deal I guess.

But for the raw power I have Sensation XE....Adreno 220. So anything high requirements I'll be using that.
Just need another *secondary* phone since I have 2 numbers...for a secondary phone that's a good choice considering 1 GHz and android
What I intend to ask is, is this good enough to replace a HTC wildfire ?

Ok
I think it looks nice. Has that galaxy nexus look, but the 512 ram throws it off.

You can get it for 9700 rupees in India but the thing with micromax is that its batteries are very poor and they degrade very early within six months Micromax phones are good if you want to use it phone for a year and then get a new phone
If you think this then go and get one

Great, but a dual core processor is needed today.
I would not ever recommend that you go for micromax smartphones. Most of those phones have charging problem or the screens becomes unresponsive after some use.
